0:50 "This game was like 10GB" - more like 23 GB , but yeah it was more than half of my 32GB Wii U Version. And the Nintendo magic to compress it to one disc is called , cutting half of the planed game and plot out. I hope they will add a lot of that to the Definitive Edition. But yeah , glad to hear that you will give this another try.
@Starcat5 I know, but I still wish it was in a direct. Could you imagine all the streamers, especially all the ones that owned a Wii U, trying to hold back tears during a direct. Would have been amazing to see that outpouring of passion for the game. Know the speedrun community for it is ecstatic as I believe the last person on the Wii U version after the servers went down was 1 of them, and the last world record for I believe, was set hours before the shutdown.
I will. I hate it but I love this game so much. After ten years, they let the unknown character in the post credit scene speak. I just cant comprehend this.
the battle system itself is quite enjoyable for me (I already played xc2, original x,xc3) not really outdated, the main story premise is interesting, I like the plot twist more like you know with certain character I think it's worth it If we like the game concept alone. the questions is about how much they add quality of life update, how much new story content, how much hours the continuation of where we left off of the ending, etc.
I was like 16 when the game first came out. I remember absolutely loving it, but I'm not sure if it's the nostalgia talking. I'll def be getting it when it comes out, it's like a fever dream that this got announced
Some context: I streamed this game over 7 years ago(?) and since I care a lot about the story in my JRPGs, the fact that my at the time favorite story of all time was followed by something that is without any exaggeration, bad, I went out of my way to see it and didn't focus on the side content. Basically... I played the game the same way Dunkey would have and yeah I see the flaws in that.
@AdelaideTsukino I wouldn't say that, I'd say it's more like how a lot of WRPGs handle stories rather than JRPGs. And by that standard there's like 2-6x the amount of story as as...say...a Bethesda RPG. It's just not the JRPG template of 12 hours of cutscenes with movie length one a near the end.
I'll try this, haven't tried it though. I heard that they will add more stuff and more. Also monolift has great track record on adding cut content *looks at XBC1*
Hey man; don't throw your bricked Wii U away! As far as I know, all bricked Wii Us are fixable. You should check out the nand recovery method or if that fails, try Voultar's nand-aid. Don't give up hope!
Already beat the game on the Wii U, so I'm gonna just watch cutscenes and read people talking about any story details they added. I need closure, but I ain't got the time for a full play-through.
I personally agree with you, but I feel like the majority consensus is that it's slow given how fast 2 & 3 were in comparison. It doesn't retroactively make it slow, but if you're not chaining your arts right or you reach the late game where everything starts being break or topple resistant, then there's a lot more cooldown time where you're just waiting to recharge arts again through no fault of your own. That's all I mean. If I can, I've got First Atk and Back Damage gems slotted onto Shulk so he can rip apart a health bar and leave them close to finished, which I still love.
For me, I didn’t really like the combat for the opposite reason: the game felt unforgiving and you really feel the lack of healing. Sure, Sharla is an unoptimal party member in 1, but an inefficient party still deals more damage than a dead party; and the heals are appreciated while you're trying to bungle into a good set-up.
Who needs healing when you can just ghost walker + infinite overdrive? Joking aside, healing is tied to soul voice and like everything in this game, it's needlessly convoluted and poorly explained
@@pokedude720 the buff and the amount of healing is actually not random, you can actually set it up. But because ghost walker/factory + infinite overdrive too strong most ignore soul voice lol
I think “garbage” is a strong word for the story, but I did walk away from this game really disappointed in that abrupt ass cocktease of an ending. Prior to that, I think we had some solid set up, even if the majority of character moments were relegated to side content.

Honestly, if this had blindsided people in a direct, I think people would have cried.
People DID cry. You just haven't seen the right reactions.

10/10 game

"Main" story is roughly 4~5% of the story content in this game. It's literally an intro.
The game isn't even focused on story at all. It was all about the exploration.
The best stories in x are in its side content

Best open world game of all time.
I realized the broken combo combines a long sword and dual pistols. You literally become Dante and can solo everything 😎
X’s combat is much faster than 1’s
I hope they add better multiplayer options. Like playing in the same world together would be epic with friends.
One of my favorite side quests, of all time, is from X. The side content, mostly, is peak.

1 combat is slow? In all my time in that game, if im not killing the enemy in 1 min, im getting melted in no time
