    I don't agree with any of Romney's central politics, but I respect that the man genuinely stands by his beliefs and didn't fold to the wave of right-wing fascism

      Romney sounds like a decent guy. John McCain did too. But I blame McCain for choosing Sarah Palin as VP. That one choice opened the door for every actual DUMMY to jump in and get elected. So, in a way, he's to blame for MAGA!

    Romney like McCain were true conservative constitutional Republicans. Hopefully GOP can get back to that after the reprogramming! Hahaha if only. If only there was an answer as to how to get the GOP back to principles of righteous government rule by working only for the people...their job description BTW

      Unfortunately I think those days are over. I'm generally a Democrat (although have voted for many GOP candidates) but greatly respected both of them. Their concession speeches were gracious. The GOP has been hijacked by the extreme right and it's scary.

    I actually read this book.
    I work at a used bookstore....so I see all this kinda thing come through. We also order new books.
    But also because I'm a total political junkie... I even read that "Anonymous: A Warning" book in 2020. I read ALL those books. And tbh...given where the GOP is at, given the VERY REAL full on authoritarianism they aren't merely flirting with, but full on embracing, I genuinely respect and admire and like....Mitt Romney. Our politics do not align. So....what? He's a good person, a smart person, an ethical person. Our values aren't the same....at least not a lot of them. But plenty of them ARE the same...like democracy, and the basic concept of reality, and trying to be a good person. Basics.
    idk....I used to be one of those liberals who would throw anyone under the bus who wasn't the same as me.
    Those days.....are over. The enemy of my enemy IS my friend. And my enemy is....Trump, and everything he has DONE to the minds of the people in this country. And everything he will do....if only give the chance.

    • @RadioLaPrincess
      @RadioLaPrincess 7 месяцев назад

      Agreed. Trump is dangerous. I used to say I disliked the Bushes and the Cheney's when George W was president but now because of Trump, I actually like them and to think they would think the same as me is weird. My brother was a full blown Republican and we would get into arguments about it, but he calls himself a "recovering Republican" and said after 2016 he will never vote them again. He tried to get me to vote for Kasich, but I said "they are all the same" and didn't because I didn't think people would vote for Trump but was proven wrong.

    • @NickYankee
      @NickYankee 2 месяца назад

      I don't think Trump is the enemy. Trump is just the guy willing to say and do what the enemy wants. Make no mistake, the enemy is your fellow American who would gladly strip women of their bodily autonomy, or trans people of their personal identities, or lgbtq people of their ability to love who they want, or people of color who wish to vote.
      The enemy is here. They live here. Donald Trump is just a selfish demagogue. Blaming him ignores the real problem.

    Mitt Romney didn't let anyone down in 2012 who wasn't already backing a losing proposition. Obama was absolutely the right decision that year, as Romney is a simple oligarch who because he is protected by wealth he trusts that his Jesus won't give him bad ideas, even though he was unfortunately also the best candidate Republicans had.

    Mormons have a philsophy within thier community ,they look out for thier kind and its kept in thier group. Few will recieve this same assistance its where the thumb is upon the scale. Opportunities for earning pensions and legal court proceedings outcomes demonstrate just how level of a playing field were working with. Regulations throughout Utah seem slighted and opportunities are available for chosen associated members within thier circle not others. Its called justice court yet it has little in regaurds to factual truths. Disabled members in Utah are not given a speedy trial or governed similarly simply its time served released after custody time expired. Normal 90 days the court has had its hearing and released at that hearing. 72 hours arraigned due process hearing is procedural and bail is set at that time. 90 days and a release , released by court hearing time served.Judges have legal court not justice court and it subject to many strange philosophies few resemble a legitimate honorable hearing. Public Auctions are the same too, dont take my word for it see it for yourself. Just dont justify your actions its unproffesional and serves nobody.

      Temple garments are simply private reminders of sacred promises church members make with God to follow Him, similar to other religions' worn symbols (cross necklaces, a nun's habit, a monk's robes, a Sikh turban). Since they go under our clothes to keep them private (see Jesus's criticisms of peoplewho flaunt their righteousness visibly), most people don't wear other underwear as a third layer underneath so yes, technically you can call it underwear. We don't believe they're "magic," the protection they offer is more about strengthening our heart against temptation through that constant reminder. It's weird and creepy for people to be so obsessed it.

      We need more Republicans to speak up as Romney and a few others are doing, denouncing Trump and other extremist Republicans. A few others bravely speaking up include Liz Cheney, Kinzinger, Flake, Corker, Kristol, and Frum, for example. More of the 70 million Republican voters need to wake up and speak up, also.
