    Love your great sense of humor as well. Thank you for showing how easy it is to cook sweet potatoes in a presser cooker.

      I know there are lots of ways to cook sweet potatoes. But the instant pot is really easy and does a good quick job. We now have 2 dogs that we are making food for. Sweet potatoes are a big ingredient in their food. And take them from the instant pot and put some olive oil on them and put on the grill. Blacken the skin and they get so super sweet that way.

    Yay! I made sweet potatoes in my Instant Pot last night. I've had my IP for a week and keep putting something in it to pressure cook every day. I can eat part of it and freeze the rest. After making sweet potatoes, I made lightly fried mashed potatoes in the IP. Then I made poached eggs, in the IP, to go on top of the mashed potatoes. And a little sweet potato with butter and brown sugar. Easy meal. In addition, I have the leftovers in the freezer. I found a recipe for sweet potato cheesecake I want to get made tonight, with some of the sweet potatoes I put in the fridge.
    I think it is easier to pull the rack up with the sweet potatoes. Taking them out one by one is too many times getting hand or fingers burned.
    Loved the enthusiasm for how easy the Instant Pot is for making sweet potatoes. I feel like I've been in the dark ages for too long - a pressure cooker is a must have for making healthy food easy.

    Great video! I have my sweet potatoes going now just like you instructed. I have an older version of the electric pressure cooker so I'm just using a cheap metal basket steamer. I'm going to turn mine into the sickly sweet sweet potato casserole that my family loves on Thanksgiving. Thank you for making this video.

    I was looking for a faster way to pressure-cook sweet potatoes; I didn't want to wait 30 minutes, and I don't care if I have whole sweet potatoes.
    I typically have boiled mine: cut into smaller chunks (so it takes less time), then boil for 10 minutes. But by using your method, I only have to cut each sweet potato once. Yay!

    The oven for an hour will might make them less watery... I love the pressure cooker though, thinking about getting one but if it steams or boils everything not so sure! Thanks for the vid!

    This is how I pack and freeze my hamburger. Great for dunking in hot water for a quick defrost. Ad a mama with six kids we can't be wasting time for prep. Happy tummies quicker is better😁

    If you get a successful show could you ask the canning jar folks to manufacture a glass jar that is wider and shorter than their pint jars so we can store food like sweet potatoes in the glass jars. No mashing necessary. Pressure cook, throw in jar. Throw in freezer.

    Can you put them skinless in the insta pot? Would they be so mashy?

    • @djrramsey
      @djrramsey 6 лет назад +1

      Yes you could put them in skinless. We don't because they literally fall out of the skins after cooking. And having the skin on lets the potatoes come out in one piece. We like them cooked until soft so having the skins on makes it easier to get them out.

    Overcooked. You lose a lot of nutrients. Also you miss the flesh stuck to the skin which is delicious and holds the most vitamins.

    • @Skashoon
      @Skashoon 3 года назад

      Incorrect about being overcooked. Correct about the skins. Most of the good nutrients are in the skins.

    Sweet potato skins aren't really meant to be eaten, in this sate especially.

    • @Skashoon
      @Skashoon 3 года назад

      Nothing wrong with the skins. Especially after pressure cooking. Any soil nematodes are destroyed. Actually I prefer the potato skins to the flesh.

      @ Keni Vrataric, please explain 'why sweet potato skins shouldn't be eaten'.
      --> I've never heard this, and just Googled it, and found the opposite information.
      Thank you. ♥️

      The lectins in the skins are very dangerous and not meant to be eaten. Should have peeled before putting in pressure cooker..
