    I have dyslexia myself, and I study literature and I'm also very visual and use a pretty similar method

    I am finishing my last year of uni and struggled a lot, but I wish I would have watched this video earlier! I use more technology because I find it easier to go back and organize my notes and I can spell check, I also feel less embarrassed because no one can see my handwriting or not being able to write properly. I use a reading program on my laptop which can also be helpful, I usually print off a copy to take notes and highlight but the audio helps me read better and faster.
    Going to school for literature is very challenging when you are dyslexic!

    I think it so interesting how people's uni process in so different. I completely agree with you on how annoying it is when people are watching netflix or are online shopping in a lecture & also wrote everything on paper first semester. But in my 2nd semester, I started using a laptop and realised that I could type so much faster than I write. My notes (& grades) improved so drastically. Also, I love your videos so much, they are always very helpful and motivating to watch

    Just watched this now as I'm currently writing my essays for second term. You sem to be so structured and also do tons of reading, wow! I really envy this. I am organised, but too lazy to do my reading most of the times. I'm doing it for my literature courses, but skip everything else (I study French and IR) :( Would be great if you could do a video on essay writing and exam revision!

    You organise everything so similarly to me, I’m very very “ocd” in a way about how I am with work and notes and my room and everything. I’m also very visual like everything must be in colour order etc and alphabetical order! I relate so much!! But I’m not dyslexic I don’t think 😂 I admire you incredibly for studying literature at uni and I think you’re just a really cool person

    I also prefers physical notes because I do not like electronic stuff. I think you should also use a diary to manage your work 😊😊. Hey can you explain a little more about colouring stuff , I kind a feel its confusing. Is there any suggestion that you can tell me about this.
    By the way video is great 🤗🤗

    You should use Google Keep that way you can log onto it on ur phone and laptop and not worry about losing the work of one of them breaks or goes missing 🤷🏽‍♀️

    How do you keep your notes so tidy when you write them during lectures! So jealous your notes are goals

    • @alisak3401
      @alisak3401 6 лет назад

      This is what I was also wondering. I usually do scrappy notes during lecture and then revise them in the evening and also look at all the lecture slides again (most of my lecturerers put them online) and then make study papers out of the slides and my crap notes from earlier. It is a lot of work, but it helps :)

    Heya! I'm going to be studying English Lit at Uni from this September and was wondering whether typing up notes from lectures on the laptop and then copying them up afterwards would be good? Or would this take up more time? I'm just worried about not getting everything down on paper. Thank you x

    • @sarcastic_fish
      @sarcastic_fish  6 лет назад +1

      It’s true like handwriting means you don’t get every word down but you do get the most important things and usually there’s lecture capture so you can catch up any bits you miss. The thing with typing and then wanting to write them up is you rarely rarely will because it’s that bit more effort. But you’ll defo find what works for you! Good luck for September 💕
