It really depends on the bird. You need to give them a reason to want to step up. It’s hard to find this reason and it takes a different amount of time for everyone

please do not use fishing line or wire for birds! It can be really dangerous for them if they ingest it. Jute or baker's twine is much better and less likely to cause internal damage.

It’s very strong lines so I don’t believe my birds could break it even if they tried. But if you have a larger bird who could it would be dangerous
