I had a parakeet named sunshine...I still have him but when I first got my birds the pet shop said that there was two females and one male I knew my bird zed was a boy and I knew that my bird deliza was a female R.I.P..but I thought my bird I named sunshine was a girl long story short he was not a girl and his current name is sunny I love them 🥰
I just caught a beautiful yellow budgie in my backyard that was eating at my feeders! How exciting! I named her Tweety! From what I have learned...I believe she is 3-4 months old! I have watched a trillion videos on care and safety! Thank you for the toy ideas. These are on my to-do list for sure...with some millet inside! Some unsafe things I have heard are mirrors, cotton, paint, glue, plastic, etc...
Omg those are nice, I'll definatley try them when I get a birb! It would have been nice tho if you recorded your birds playing with them or show us where it can be located or hanged on a cage. The last in my fav btw 👍🏻👌🐦
Ah, good pointer actually. (You can follow us on Instagram at little_feathered_kingdom to see photos and in action shots of them using them. If you want to check that out!) Thank you so much though for your kind comment! I hope your future bird so enjoy too!
@•Happy• •Blank• watch them and if pieces are dropped they are only ripping, if they don't they are eating it. From then, I wouldn't give them it. They shouldn't eat it. They are fortunate you care so much! Thank you for adoring them. Just monitor them. Anything new should always be watched over anyway incase of anything unsafe happening.
You can do either, just either make sure it comes from a parrot store if its colored/dyed. Or that it is natural paper. I use packaging paper. If your bird starts to eat the paper though, please do not keep it in the cage. :)
I can't find paper-strings anywhere! But can i make them? Can i just take regular paper fold it a little bit and then put it, or is that toxic to birds somehow?
@@vicky4753 i've made them the toys, the male is still scared to play with them, but the female loves them. She gets angry when i take them away lol, thank you anyway
Getting a budgie this weekend so excited I’ll name probably name him Hershey (I’ve had a budgie in the past his name was charli aka charli in the chocolate factory) ^^
Yes, he might! It's all safe as long as you use size appropriate things (things he can't swallow/choke on) if you use beads or things like that. Just make sure he also isn't eating the card itself. Ripping is fine, look for little pieces in the bottom if they aren't there he's probably eating them and it's best not to continue. :)
So you can either, get anything like packing paper and cut it up with scissors or a paper shredder. You can buy it pre-cut at bird stores online or in craft stores (just make sure its a natural colour if you're buying from a craft store in case the colourants aren't bird safe) if you buy from a bird store they can be coloured. Or you can if you don't care about looks just rip it with your hands. Good luck and thank you for commenting!
In the UK where my flock and I are from Cardboard glues are none toxic, if consumed, which you should monitor that your bird does not ingest large amounts of the toy (You should remove it) my own personal birds leave a pile of chewed up material on the floor afterwards it looks very similar to carefresh and I'm quite impressed by their work. I know its not toxic, if they did eat it. It's made with starch glue. As for egg boxes it's made up of mulched paper, or recycled paper. Perhaps I need to also look into the other countries methods and add a warning. If you have scented toilet papers I probably wouldn't advise i Using the tubes afterwards but also I wouldn't advise people use scented toilet papers themselves. I'm not going to play the I've had birds for X amount of years and had no problem, I understand it's been a problem for many. All toys need to be monitored, they'll never be 100% safe birds really can find trouble without meaning to. Especially Teils they seem to be massive candidates for impaction which is a horrifying and often avoidable condition.
Thank you for this, bird toys are really expensive so I’m glad I can entertain my budgies without putting a dent in my wallet (:

i have subed and i hve a question for the paper strings is paer cut into lines {and it is small pieces}are enough?
Sooo. I don’t have any bird, or any paper strings, I make bird toys for a shelter for birds, and can I just crumple up some pieces of paper?
Yes! You can absolutely or rip/cut paper yourself. :) good luck and thank you for caring for the shelter birds.

I usually shred paper in the shredder and 1 paper is enough for like, 4-5 toys so if you have access to one it's really handy
For thefirst one do you buy that paper or you just take a piece of paper and rip it

Would this work for quakers too?
I have a cockatiel her name is coco surprisingly she loves these !
I have one budgie named Yuki and shes gonna love the toys ill be making her today thanks to you!
But he ideas are very creative
I can't find paper-strings anywhere! But can i make them? Can i just take regular paper fold it a little bit and then put it, or is that toxic to birds somehow?
That should work! Just if you find your bird is eating the paper, remove it as that can be unhealthy.

Toilet roll tubes are dangerous for birds
They're only dangerous if they grow a habit of chewing on it, otherwise it's perfectly fine.
@@vicky4753 what?
Um no..
@@87.l9 Then it's not dangerous. If they don't eat it, they'll be fine.
