looks like a early 70's cab with 79 parts on an f350 or heavy duty f250 but in no way a high boy!! no matter what anyone says there was never a highboy to ever roll off the assembly line with a non divorced transfer case. Ever!
Ryan Juntunen the level of meticulously detail and taste is spotless ! Amazing work ! I am impressed ! The 78-79 interior is the finest interior on pickup truck history ! That's like the Linconl continental of the pickup trucks , that was the end of an golden full glitter and colour 70's era ....FORD closed the 70's with golden key !!!

I even have similar aerial support bracket on the bed tube box lol man these 79 interior finishing were on another level back in the late 70's ... That's Linconl continental pickup trucks !
Modifications could’ve made it into a “highboy” If they did the narrow axles ,350 frame with a NP203 or NP205 transfer case swap ... then yes it would be able to be truly called a highboy. Had a 79 bronco in high school We did the full swap to “highboy” Beautiful trucks
Awesome ride sir .. So I’ll answer a few questions about the truck seeing as how I’m the guy that built it. It now resides in Germany as that is where it was shipped to when I sold it. The buyer is the one who took this video. It is in fact a 79 with an earlier cab on it. It does have a 70 429 engine. I did a complete frame off on this truck. It has the front D60 and while not relevant, it is a Sno-Fighter. Mufflers were flowmasters running through 2 1/2” pipes. I wish I’d of never sold this one. Some of you guys commenting are really pretty hilarious with your assumptions.
@@67bowman at 00:43 you can see the fuel door on the side of the bed as well as a fuel cap on the cab a few seconds later. The dual tank trucks had both doors on the bed so this is obviously modified.

Beautiful truck, but saying it's a high boy is false advertisement. A high boy comes with a Divorced transfer case, 2.25 inch rear springs, I believe 34 inches frame rails, and a factory 4 inch lift. I'm sure I'm missing something. 78 and 79 were considered low boys because of their low height. Sweet truck, and yes it's a pet peeve. Have a fantastic day.
@@oregonfordguy9812 on a highboy? It's not a different suspension design! The 78/79 f250 have the same design as the 67 through 77 f250. I could go into detail but I dont have enough room.
@@oregonfordguy9812, the main difference is the divorce transfer case. The frame rails on 67 to 77 were also straight and 78 and 79 f150 f250 were wide in the back and narrow in the front. The 100s and 150s had a coil spring.
@@garrettsallee4573 arched multi-level springs versus dearched 2 leaf front. 8 leaf rear and vs 5 leaf. the geometry was changed. to make the overall height lower
@@garrettsallee4573 77.5-79 f250's have very different front suspensions from highboys, even the frame rails and engine crossmember are different. About the only thing they have in common is that they are the same width and both use leaf springs in the front. Highboys did not have a factory lift.
I had the same truck in 82 . But it was stolen for the tires and rims .the stripped her then burnt her way out in the woods. IT WAS A SAD DAY , WHY DID I LEAVE HER IN A PARKING LOT OVER NIGHT . WHY
7.0 liter doesn't compute to a standard engine in a 4x4 Ford. 390 is 6.5liter and 460 is 7.5liter. sooo. it'd have to be a 427 or 428. which are worth more than the truck and extremely rare.
Last year of so called high boys was in 1977! They had a different frame than the 78 on up trucks, you can think you got a high boy all you want that doesn't make it so...
warrior71 Yother it’s a highboy the year ain’t correct ... he’s got grille and interior of 79 but truck is early middle 70’s due to gas tank behind the bench seat ....
@@chocodiledundee1 It's not on a highboy frame either. The truck in this video has an older cab on a 77.5-79 frame. Look at the transfer case and the lack of the crossmember between the front leaf springs.
Sorry but it is NOT a Highboy! Ford did not manufacture a pickup called the "Highboy." The term "Highboy" was a moniker that the general pickup truck enthusiasts gave to the F250 4x4 built from 1967 to 1977 1/2. Therefore this 1979 is not considered a "Highboy."
F26 was used on non highboys too. All F26 means is that the truck is an f250 4x4. That code was used in all crew and regular cab F250 4x4's for many years.
Or it's a 79 and has different parts?... My goodness do you think people are so stupid they don't even know what year truck they have? No, most likely not. Give people the benefit of the doubt sometimes, you'll be better for it
Ryan P-76, this truck looks like someone changed the cab out to an earlier year. The frame isn't a highboy frame and the box has a fuel door so it's at the earliest a 77 but with the 78/9 front clip and the 78/9 interior I'd bet it was just a cab swap.
Ryan Juntunen cab is from 73-77 I have a 76 with single tank in the back of bed. They didn't put in-cab tanks in 78/79 because of safety. So the bed would have gas door if it was a 78/79. All he did was put the 79 front clip on. Same thing I did.
That's a beautiful, good-sounding truck. Those wheels make it seem even tougher. I wheels like that on an old RC crawler truck once.
It's stunning.......that your dome light works
