Have to admit seeing a Galaxy girl reminds me so much of Qinni's art. It makes me feel sad, but it came out gorgeous Kat! And Sally is adorable as always.
I would agree with you that the paint was a little underwhelming compared to ones expectations looking at the little clip you showed. Its still really pretty, but I can see it only being used as an accent after the painting is basically done. Good work though
I’m glad that I got to see this video. I love seeing small businesses with the gorgeous paints, but it’s so hard to tell what the paints will actually look like when someone else uses them.
@@too_tired_for_this yep. And people might still want to try them for themselves, but at least they’re prepared if they don’t turn out as they imagined they would.
If you ever feel like experimenting, I'd love to see you apply no wipe gel top coat directly to a piece, cure, then buff on a holo pigment to get a smooth rainbow effect. Unconventional, but I imagine it would be cool if it worked
I had my eyes set on these exact paints but I was afraid that the result would be a little underwhelming, and to me it is, especially with how expensive they are ! But your artworks look really nice !
Spring is my favourite season: not too hot, blossom and flowers, pretty pastel colours, Easter ( and therefore chocolate), swimming or sitting outside, baby animals being born…
The galaxy hair piece is so beautiful ✨ I think spring is probably most inspiring for me - it's so colorful and everything is coming alive. That said, I prefer fall for every other reason - coffee, sweaters, autumn leaves, Halloween, etc.
Fall is by far my favorite season! Like you said, the cooler weather is so cozy, and there is so much to do and explore in the fall. Plus I live in a huge area of beaches, so it’s extra busy in the summer.
I liked the video, the paints looks awesome! Also..I was super excited when I heard your Etsy shop opened up, so I quickly went to check it out and bought a print and some cute stickers! I always love how you draw animals, specificly cats! I even commissioned you to draw my cat couple months ago, when you had commissions up to help pay vet bills for Sally. Hope everything went fine! Our cat you drew, sadly passed away in June (of old age), now we have your drawing next to some pictures on the wall as a reminder of her. ♥
I love them both ,but the girl is my favourite one..I always think these specialist paints only look nice in small patches on a painting as you did.I have not seen the colour shift watercolours before, but I know they do them in acrylics ,those look beautiful..enjoyed watching you paint though ..Thank you 🥰
Another great video. My favourite season is fall also. I love the cozy clothes, the colours, the smells, and halloween! I really like the mushroom one, I totally thought you were going to do crystals!
I loved both of the pieces you made today. It is always so nice to see small shops being supported. Can't wait to get settled in my new place so that I can order from your shop. :-)
aww man i been following skrim for ages, they hosted a giveaway and i won it but never got my paint set even after they said theyd send it out again when i told em it never arrived so now i feel kinda sour against investing money into their products:(( maybe one day when i am more financially well off i can get over it though!
I feel the same way about holographic paint, I started learning how to make paint a few years ago and I tried to make holographic paint, with pretty much the same result that you experienced. Normally for paint you have a pigment that gets ground into the medium but for the holographic particles they just kinda.....get suspended into the medium. I still think it's very cool but i think at this point we just don't have the ability to make a super pigmented holographic watercolor (unless you want to paint with nail polish?) I really like the galaxy girl, she looks so soft and relaxed.
I love fall for all the reasons you mentioned, but spring is such a great "rebirth" season, with plants growing and the sun coming back. Because the colors you used were all cool, the mushroom picture looks more "magical winter" to me than fall even though that's what mushrooms usually make people think of!
Im looking forward to fall and winter! I'm a february baby, and I feel most creative surrounded by sparkly snow and cold cheek pinching weather. ❤️ But I've also accepted and fallen in love with fall, love getting my sweathers out, drinking hot drinks and walking my cats and dogs in the colorful falling leeves. I also think mushrooms are beautiful 🙆🏼♀️
Fall is definitely my favorite season. I'm more creative during Christmas and spring. But fall is my MOST creative season. Especially around Halloween!
Wauw I am in love with holographic effect. So beautiful. Just like the black galaxy cats in your etsy shop. Unfortunally I was to late. They are already sold out T.T Will they be back in stock? I really love them
That effect looks a lot like the Crayola pearlescent acrylic paint. What if you let the base color dry, then come along and wash it over? With the opaque acrylic paint, it takes very little coverage to have sparkle that looks similar to just the paint when it dries. I love the girl dreaming.
Oh wow, this holo color is awesome! Find handmade watercolor totally exciting - maybe I dare myself there one day ran :) Just like your new store - I'd be really interested in how you print that (maybe an idea for a video?).... Or do you let a professional do it? Your artprints look beautiful
I think you made the best you could with these supplies. As a paint maker myself I kinda... it sounds like a false advertisement? As you said, it is glitter, not a mica (which is the shimmer paint you talked about, like the gansai tambi). It also gives a bad rep for the paint in general. Handmade paint can be amazing, I tried (and not to toot my own horn but also made) paint better than common brands like W&N. This of course differs per brand, maker, and pigment but to say handmade isn't as good as a big brand simply isn't true. There are a lot of makers out there right now though, so I have to admit it can be hard to find genuine ones. If you are ever looking into more holos, I don't make them myself, but it could be an idea to ask the maker what they use to make those paints. Because in this case, it was glitter. You'd want to get a paint made with mica or just pigment to get the effects you desire!
You can't get holo mica. Mica only ever does sparkle/shimmer and duo chrome. Holo relies on there being a very exact angle to split the white light into all the colours of the rainbow and how mica is formed (its crystalline growth structure) and how its ground up doesn't produce the correct angles to split the light into the true holo rainbow. Even the very finest of holographic powders is technically produced from glitter. A better solution perhaps would be to coat the art with a resin which you could press those holographic films on to to leave an imprint in the resin which deffracts the light correctly (like what people on youtube used to make the holographic chocolate).
@@AlexaFaie you don't grind mica, so theoretically you should be able to get a holo that way. But I don't dabble it that myself so you might be right. I was just saying, this paint isn't true holo, so it shouldn't be marketed as if it was. It should at least state somewhere it is a glitter that doesn't have full coverage
i just started making holographic paints for fun during quarantine! wass just going to impulse buy more as my blue holo mix paint turned out super sparkly and i used other pigments so it covers well. i was so suckered to make a pure silver one and now im like.... not sure haha
It isn't bolo but I really recommend the Winsor and Newton shimmer medium for watercolour it is under £6 from Jacksons art supplies and I believe also available from Amazon. The other thing you could try is to add some holographic mica to the medium or a watercolour binder. Your videos make my week sending best wishes and kitty cuddles from London x
I've seen a tutorial somewhere where they showed you how to make holographic paint by mixing in nail polish. So I always wonder if that's just how all of these paints are made.
I also prefer fall for motivation. Spring is a close second. I hate summer, but I also live in America where summers are loud, traffic is more loud, and everyone's blasting their lawn mowers... And then there's the bugs. Locusts are bad, cicadas are worse. Good thing they only come around every 17 years... Edit: forgot to mention the fireworks. God, I hate fireworks.
I have seen the paint maker you've shown in the video and I find their paints in general underwhelming for the prices. Not to sya they aren't good but I have seen some handmade watercolor makers that produce truly stunning paints that are friendlier in cost with proven quality. The thing is many holographic handmade watercolors are actually just glitter and not exactly a pigment like mica pigments are. There IS holographic mica pigment and it is ridiculously expensive. So expensive that the one of the most popular and best rated makers sells theirs for like 27 usd. And the holo mica is not as reflective as glitter can be so yeah it will not look as bright and in your face. And who do you buy it from also affects the quality. There are many great handmade watercolor makers in Europe like Brillanza and in US Iuile and Hydracolour have some of ravest reviews and widest ranges of color. Also, for this kind of paints, it is much better to apply them in thick layers.
Now with this watercolor, Simply Artlogical will be born.
Yes
Has Cristine seen this yet?? It NEEDS to happen.

ooh look at the wobble on that little kitty tummy as she leaps for the butterflies!
Awesome pieces. The galaxy torso is mh favourite ☺☺☺☺
I would agree with you that the paint was a little underwhelming compared to ones expectations looking at the little clip you showed. Its still really pretty, but I can see it only being used as an accent after the painting is basically done. Good work though
It does depend on what lighting was used in that first video and what stage of curing/drying it was at but on paper it does kind of suck
@@moonlit_shadows7253 blunt and to the point. I love it!😄

Somewhere Simply Naillogical is painting holo artwork with that watercolour.

Sally eating the grass is a mood 🤣 she's so cute
No matter the tool you always make amazing things!

I agree! Spring makes me feel so alive and boosts my mood instanlty after being a bit low in winter^^

I thought so too!
Is It ReAl HoLo
I never knew Sally's tail curled like that - it was so cute! Loved both the art pieces today.
Oh my gosh.... such sparkle! I love it!
I like Spring and Autum. Not too hot, not too cold and the colors they provide also inspire me, especially darker Autum tones.
I always love holo and of course ordered some stickers already :) I have been looking for foxy stickers for a while... these are perfect
Your shop is filled with gorgeousness! I'll have to place an order soon. 😍
These paints are beautiful! Also, Sally is so cute with her curly tail 🥰

Gourgus! I love the galaxy effect 🤩
You could use it as a top layer when painting snow, space or aurora borealis. Or you could mix it with black paint, perhaps?
Both of the illustrations turned out super lovely!
Sally!!! Oh I missed her so much! Little floofikins 😍😻❤️😘☺️🐆🦄

I don't really like the way the glitter was bound, this happens often with watercolors, it's too heavy for the binder and just sits.
