Used to care a lot about chipset performance by comparing benchmark scores. But now I only care about the chipset efficiency for better battery endurance.
Yes, the growth of technology has drastically improved such that, e.g. SD 778 a midrange chip of 2022 performs much better than flagship of 2020, as you said efficiency and battery life is need of the hour,
This test is not really a good example for battery efficiency. Keep in mind that Android SoC have immense peak power draw. Some can reach 10-11W. This sound bad for the battery but it actually generate so much heat that the power goes all the way down hence why we see android chips performing so much worse than A16. Yet A16 draws a lot less power but sustain it for longer thus losing slightly more % points than SD device for example.
@@davout5775 That happened only in snapdragon 888 and 8Gen1
Mainly because of the really inefficient Samsung fabrication process and that only happened in Gaming phones with Max performance turned on
Now the 8+Gen1 peaks at 7W even in gaming phones
Normal phones only go 4 ~ 6W now
I agree. Personally I think that in the coming years the phone industry is going to be more battery based while having great features without drastically killing your battery.
Facts
I think you should have compared the battery percentage loss in relation with the size of the battery. 22% loss in a 5000 mah battery is a greater loss than 24% loss in a 4300 mah battery.
He didn't because that is irrelevant for user experience.
¿No es lo mismo?, ambos perdieron mismo porcentaje
Exactly 👌
4 watt is the current mobile cpu technology. I think you're talking about resolution. 1440p will drain faster than 1080p. Then the apps, wifi, 4g 5g, brightness, 120hz, and aod.
Then he would have had to also take a look at the brightness, refresh raze and resolution of the screen Mate
Interesting is the fact that tensor was the coolest in most tests
How good it would be if it was from tsmc foundry.
well slower it goes cooler it runs. tensor is lagging behind when it comes to speed

You should have not included the Kirin because it's a 2020 processor and looks like the scores are dropped too much then before, maybe because of updates and lack of Google

For some reason, it seems that the A16 Bionic is most powerful when it comes to rendering, no idea how or why but somehow it makes sense
Because apple focuses on that the most
NVME storage >>> UFS
We must not forget that Apple’s GPU is TBDR, from a research on this Technology.
@Schwozboi nahh, all the games which we are playing in mobile run smoothly in ios better. iPhones get high frame rate compared to android. Mac only doesn’t have many AAA games because of games support in macos. iPhone provides the best gaming experience.
cause apple has the smallest chip
you should also add the throttling test.Helps to know the real performance winner
yeah, like the ul benchmark shown stable result in percentage, after long heavy test, that will be good 😊
Thanks for this content! Would've been interesting if in place of Kirin there was a midrange chip like SD 778G just to check how far they are vs top class
sd 778g is a beast
No matter ehat snap was that apple is far better when it comes to a battery bench performance chipset
no, it's for kirin fanboy, and wish they will do comeback !!
Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
It’s not only this add also that the cameras of iPhone 14 pro are something we never seen in a phone you can record video and focus on something really close and you can see every little detail it’s impressive I prefer this by just taking photos of the moon! The moon is just moon but this option can give you some really good photos in the nature and in everything else 😉

That bionic chip is crazy fast! I will notice it especially when editing videos. I just can't imagine the other three chips since I'm already having bad experience with Snapdragon on my Samsung Ultra.
@grous sucks but still it performs better than any other chip can ever achieve in a decade
@grous but android phones need at least twice the amount of RAM to even compete… I’ll have some of what you’re smoking 🤣

Google said the ML Benchmarking tools aren't designed to properly capture what Tensor is capable of. Either way, it's still the chip that makes the most of it's ML capabilities in a visible and beneficial way to the user.
I do not agree. I would argue that A16 is maybe just as useful. The amazinf camera performance of any iPhone since iPhone X is boosted by the amazing NPU of Apple. The AI chip is also used in the Face ID system, translation through the camera, Live text where the AI recognizes text from photos no matter handwritten or not. You can even use that feature in videos. Also something very interesting at least to me is how powerful Apple's AI is within the new customization on the lock screen. The AI can even recognize when the material in the photo is solid or transparent like a glass and make it transparent so you can actually see the part of the time that is behind the object. Extremely impressive! Also something that Google had before but Apple made it better is the ability to take a person from a photo and paste is somewhere else. There are ofc other applications and especially in 3rd party apps. That's why IMO the iPhone's AI is just as good as Google's
Mediatek Deminsity 9200 already surpasses Tensor 2 in AI and ML. Tensor is a brand name so Google could easily use the Deminsity 9200 next year for Tensor 3.
they said that coz they know its a piece of shit
@@j0ps-xfx Except that Google knows more about ML than you and I do considering they are the biggest AI company in the world. Also, the Pixel 7 / Pro are two of the smoothest and most fluid phones out there.
Still google competes with apple and beats apple most of the times when it comes to A.I.
Imagine how much capable it will be with good hardware
imagine kirin fighting even without google services, and it's already over a year old! hats off for huawei for a job well done!
it used to be in top 3, along bionic and snapdragon, now for me it's been replace by tensor

I feel like 1,3 million score on Antutu would provide enough compute performance on a phone, at least until 2030. They need to stop trying to be the highest performer on it's class and goes hard on making the chip more efficient while being used at it's max. Also enhance the AI learning ability, ISP, and etc. We need compact phone for sure, it could be easier to make compact phone if the chip is more efficient, doesnt need bigger battery to run full day of daily usage.
exactly, even midrange phones have better CPU than my fucking desktop PC, normal people aren't gonna use the whole potential of 1,3M antutu. they really should focus on improving AI, power efficiency, ram management and this stuff.
I'm not apple guy but i gotta admit that apple did this right. they may have lower score even by half but the iphones are less laggy and last several years because of these optimisations
Overall Rankings:
1) A16
2) SD
3) Dimensity
4) Exynos == TENSOR
6) Kirin
Hey! The Geekbench score of the Dimensity seems off. I have Vivo X80 and have no problem in getting 1200+ on the single core and 4000+ on multi core results.
It would be awesome if Nothing would be included on this test, I know that it doesn't use the latest chipset but it's at least a damn good performing phone so it would be awesome to see it get compared
Thanks for your video.
But I’m curious: Isn’t the iPhone downloading files prior to convert them? It doesn’t look like the Androids are doing that. Could you explain it? Or maybe redo the test and check the results?
And in the battery test it would be better to state out the battery sizes for each device and note down the "used mAh" values for each device. This will clearly show the iPhone has much better battery efficiency.
can you do this test with mid chips? so you can compare all the categories
....unfortunately there wont be an Exynos next year!... but I also get much better values with the current one with some 1200/3700 on the Geekbench....
Bionic A16 is good because iOS have a best recipe to make it's full performance come out.
Would have been better if you started from 100% battery and updated current change with each test
there must be something wrong with your s22 ultra, i just did a geekbench 5 test, 1163 single and 3388 for multi..

@@Rahat2995 as per the tests it's the weakest chip but if you see the real world performances it's actually fast and very smooth.
@@Gopinathk17 these are real world lmao
@@rebel2809 no, these are just the chip performance tests based on some benchmarks, not the real world tests/use cases. Believe me at times I felt it's laggy, jittery and slowness on my S22 ultra but not even a single time my pixel 7 pro was slow, using it past 1 month, it's my smoothest experience that I ever had on Android. I can say it's on par with iPhone (I know because I use an iPhone as well). I'm not a hard gamer so can't talk abt it, but I play subway surfers and temple run sometimes, never had an issue.
The one and only issue that I have on my 7 pro is, battery heating issues(some times) and slow charging, recently observed that signals were last 1-2 times at some places( could be genuine network provider issues, not sure).
All chips seem capable but for battery and heat tensor does appear the winner

Wow, since many other youtube reviewers are focusing solely on geekbench 5 as a performance indicator, I genuinely thought A16 chip would obliterate snapdragon in almost every test, but I was completely wrong. It's great to be able to see the results in various applications.
geekbench is a poor measure of real performance
Even in performance, A16 still obliterates every Android Chip.
Have an iPhone 11 and there’s no app on App Store who can make it slow. I think iPads and iPhones reach peak performance and the battle now is about performance per watt.
They didn't run multiple trials on the exynos clearly because I'm running a s21 fe and it score close to the tensor 2 even, and that's with the exynos 2100
Some of these benchmarks aren't really using the phones capabilities... You do a tensorflow benchmark and let it run on the cpu on the pixel. It has dedicated cores for that. If you run the proper benchmark you should get around 2200
So far, A16Bionic is the most powerful chip in the world, but Redmagic 8 and Vivo x90 pro plus will soon be released with the most powerful Snapdragon 8 GEN 2 chip
