Very impressive and attractive bnsf GE dash 9 locomotive model, BNSF owns a large roster of the cw44-9 type (over 1500 examples) of this locomotive type and this is a common modern era freight locomotive for numerous railroads. Scaletrains has produced an incredible and highly accurate model of the cw44-9 engines and this BNSF example is spectacular looking with a stunning paint scheme.

I have that rivet counter scale trains BNSF C44-9W 4466. Also 4313, 4593 and the updated 4144. Will be getting the other updated version 5441, that one has the unusual paint scheme. Also this year looking for the ones coming from Athearn Genesis 2.0 BNSF C44-9W’s all updates...... getting 4 of them. Beautiful locomotives.

The horn on that locomotive is a Nathan p3-r4-oc horn

Sounds like a P3 Horn. Good review!

Thank you! Yeah, I believe factory settings had it set to an "old cast" P3, which is semi-correct for #4466. It has a "new cast" P3, so I did end up resetting to that. Depending on what unit you get, most come with the Nathan K3LAR2, which is correct for BNSF. Although I'm guessing the prototype #4466 was either delivered with a P3 or had it's K3LA replaced! Thanks for watching!

I see you checked F20 but no sound played. Does the loco not have the whoop compressor sound?

It may, I've had it for this long and still don't know for sure haha. I think it cycles automatically but you may be able to cycle it manually. My DCC system was being funky that day too.

It’s called a review for a reason… because I’m *reviewing* the locomotive, sharing specs, details, and overall showing off the model. If you want to see the locomotive running, feel free to skip to the end run-by! Hopefully soon I’ll have some much newer videos up, moved house about a month ago and still haven’t had the opportunity to set up shop again.
