I've owned dozens of Bachmann locomotives over the years most if not all of then where Bachmann Spectrum. I've installed Soundtrax sound in them. And honestly it's pretty easy. Towards the end I started using LED'S instead of incandescent bulbs. Nice locomotive and layout I've been working on the layout that belongs to the Evergreen Railroad Modeler club on Spokane Washington.

Thank you for your comment. I’m definitely going to work on upgrading my Bachmann locomotives with sound soon. Thanks for watching.

I have a Bachmann GP40-2 model in BNSF livery that came with the Bachmann 'Rail Chief' HO scale train set. So far I'm quite pleased with it runs smooth and has enough detail to be very pleasing appearance in my setup. I have another Bachmann train set: 'Harry Potter Hogwarts Express' that I bought for my kids about 20 years ago the loco still runs like new. Also have a Bachmann 'Percy' loco from the Thomas the Tank Engine series. Don't have any issues with any of the Bachmann locos or rolling stock I have. Thinking of getting another Bachmann GP40 in either BNSF or Norfolk Southern livery to double-head a long consist. Nice layout I like the realistic track beds.

Thanks for your comment. A have a few newer Bachmann locos - GP38-2 in Canadian National and GP40 in Burlington Northern and the Conrail GP40. All run great - so much better than the Bachmanns I had as a kid in the 1980s. They are a really great starter loco, a bit less detail, but great runners. The layout is a work in progress. It was my first attempt at ballasting the tracks. I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks again!

Saved one of those in the santa fe 3500 road number from the house next to me when it was being torn down, they dove into the house with an excavator and there was around 400 train sets in there. Managed to save a couple items when the crew went on lunch instead of them sticking them on ebay after they basically stole the home from the elderly owner .

If you dont want to swap out all your couplers you can make an adapter car. One side of the car has a kadee coupler and the other side horn hook. That way you can connect the kadee side to the loco and the horn hook side to all your other cars. I use an old Athearn blue box car as its super easy. ruclips.net/video/arC65t1eLtw/видео.html
