Very impressive and handsome cw44-9 model, Scaletrains has once again produced another incredible locomotive model and Norfolk Southern owns a large roster (over 1000) of these dash 9 models. Even though it is plain and simple I really like the NS black/ white paint scheme as it makes the NS unique among the US railroads and these Scaletrains models are possibly the best dash 9 locomotive models available in ho scale currently.
I agree with you! These are possibly the best Dash 9s available. I enjoy seeing that NS paint scheme. It’s such a cool looking paint scheme. Thank you for watching!
Nice video! I picked up both numbers in SP and UP right away. By the time I talked myself into ordering an NS one they had just gone out of stock, ah well. Definitely a great price for a very nice model!
Thank you! Oh man I know what you mean! I went back to order a second NS unit after for talking myself into it and they were sold out! I agree. Great model! Thanks you for watching!
You know I was a little disappointed with the horn on this model in particular. The horn it self sounds good, but just not loud. It gets drowned out by the prime mover. I wouldn’t mind messing the CVs but I need a Lok Sound Programmer to adjust the horn volume. Thank you for watching! I thinking about changing the speakers in all the the ScaleTrains models to Scale Sound System speakers.
@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest whoa I found someone that installed four iPhone speakers ruclips.net/video/sTuRUCkQYtI/видео.html now that sounds pretty good

Thank you for watching!!
Great video! I like the scaletrains models, but i wish they would make them louder compared to my athearn locomotives.

@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest I agree! You know I have been thinking about doing that too.
Nice loco
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Is it just RUclips or do all of these sound systems sound like they are in an echoy Pringle’s can without any lower frequency output?
So I used a high quality Rode mic for this review. This unit in particular is lacking in the low frequencies more than other models.

What dcc controller are you using?
I’m using the Digitrax DCS-52.
