This home has some of the most exquisite tile selections. From the kitchen backsplash, laundry rooms, to all the bathrooms, they are so unique and timeless at the same time. PS PLEASE no barn door, too played out and common. That house is so elegant. Black French doors would be gorgeous.

This home is beautiful. I also enjoy living in a home about this size so ( no jealousy or hate for those reading this) I am offering 2 pieces of advice I learned along the way….Find yourself a TRUSTED handyman as you’ll be needing those services quite a bit, just comes with a house of this size. And secondly a reliable, honest cleaning crew are imperative to keep up the beauty so it doesn’t look tired, UNLESS you’re seriously into spending a lot of time cleaning which could be….Congratulations on your forever home…

I agree and what you don’t see is all the dust that collects on the hardware from which bardr doors hang! Pocket doors are classic, clean and functional or French doors.
this is literally my dream home. it already FEELS like home even without any furniture, not a crazy expensive homes toured on luxury estate channels but has plenty of well-thought out, good-sized rooms with high ceilings. The interior is very compatible with any home styling you would go for, yet has beautiful details like tiles and light fixtures. absolutely love it!
Island and countertops quartz. Wet bar, soapstone. That house is an entertaining house. 2 wine refrigerators, wet bar, 3 ovens, 2 dishwashers, pantry is okay since you have a lot of cabinets. Gorgeous house, congrats!

Yeah! I love it. The firewoman in me has to comment that metal doors, etc, are done for fire resistance( climate change) the use of concrete , etc also is best choice, the architect must have had this in his: her mind. Double door doors, etc. Are all very fire resistant and a smart move. This is amazing !! 🌸

I’m not even five minutes in and my jaw has dropped. What an absolutely stunning home. Congratulations to you and yours❤️…..countertops are soapstone and one of the best work surfaces you can have, in the wet bar area…..kitchen ones are quartz in a marble veining…..for the office doors, iron framed glass French doors would pull the architectural aspect of your front door in and would look amazing. The paint in your casita/office looks like farrow and ball shaded white.

Goodness gracious, I built my house with literally all the customization the builder offered, and it’s nowhere as perfect for me as this is for you. (Also, design nerd moment: whoever laid that marble on the kitchen island - despite the seams - was a genius with that vein placement.) Congrats again; may you make so many happy memories there that you can barely remember them all. ❤️

I would put a iron fence with wisteria growing and maybe some Crêpe myrtles planning pretty close to hide your view and not see your neighbors and maybe some rosebushes that would be gorgeous, that house is amazing!
Right 👍. I was actually thinking a few well placed evergreens as well, a couple Leland Cypress trees would totally give privacy and some shade! Fyi.. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my wisteria right now, it's in a pot and starting to climb...
No crepe myrtles!!!! They’re beautiful but your pool will be constantly full of flowers and leaves.
Bamboo would be a good option too, tall and thick but won’t have leaf litter
The extra gas connection would be a great place for a Pizza Oven
Wow! What an unbelievably house! But can I just say that that view of the mountains from your backyard/balcony is an absolute highlight! Imagine waking up to that view everyday!
That’s so sensible to have a laundry room upstairs. It’s where you take off and store your clothes, so I’ve never understood why laundry is done by a kitchen or in a basement. 👏🏼

I call my butler's pantry "the closest Starbucks'. I turned it mostly into a coffee/tea/cocoa station. The staircase is like a turret area in a castle. Gorgeous! I love that look too. They put the tv there so those in kitchen can watch while cooking/cleaning, which is nice. Wishing many happy years and memories ahead!
Absolutely gorgeous! I guess you could use that smaller oven for smaller meals and not heat up the bigger stoves? So many neat details in this house. I have a strange “thing” about facing a tv that is also on a wall with a window. Depending on the time of day and your window treatments, it can be like staring into a spotlight? That staircase closet! I love it! And that upstairs, gorgeous! And zig zag balconies up and down. So great! ❤️

I would move that light fixture in your bedroom (the one your replacing with a fan) to the dressing room to replace the cube light fixture you don’t like. I absolutely love this for you and your husband. I love how you both are utilizing the extra bedrooms as personal rooms for yourselves. My husband and I turned our entire second story into a loft with a private office. Why not? We don't have kids and we're not going to lol

Such a beautiful home Michelle!!! Congrats! About that TV, I think it was placed on that wall so that the TV won't reflect the light coming from the large windows. If you moved it to the adjacent wall, you would have to contend with the light from the opposite window reflecting on the TV.
The "third oven" is for proving bread and other doughs :) I watch way too much great British bake off lol

Beautiful home Michelle, congratulations! I would not recommend a barn door on that home office, that was a trend 10 years ago and your home is not a "modern country farm house" style home (thank God, that's so cookie cutter predictable). Perhaps consider paneled French doors that open down the middle, they're classic design and more fitting in the style of your new home and will not obstruct the hallway or room (whichever way they swing, I'd hinge them to swing into the office) like a one piece door. It will also block sound for business calls efficiently and it won't go out of style or look dated like something more trendy.

When you find a home with this level of attention to detail, a home already offering the light fixtures you are in love with, hardware touches that tickle your fancy and flooring that just makes the room, then you have found a home perfect for you. All of these things, to me, always seem like things we all say, “oh, I can change that or replace this”, but in reality, it quickly becomes overwhelming, costly and so hard to decide on when trying to ensure all rooms continue to represent your design style.
Outdoor- just curious, we live in FL and have a pool but since finding you and a few other loves on RUclips and waking up to the damage the sun has left my skin with, I find myself so conflicted about enjoying my pool now. Do you think you will feel hesitant to lounge in the pool?

Your vlog (a new word for me) just came up - and I'm born and raised in NYC. I grew up in tiny apartments - fortunately, I didn't realize how small they were. My mother and I moved to southern Calif. decades ago - and that's when I got acquainted with homes. I became a realtor - and bought and sold a few homes for myself. I found my forever home 20 yrs ago in Oxnard, CA. Your house is beautiful. The kitchen is very well designed with the large center island and beautiful cabinets. I have a smaller center island - and can't imagine not having one. I love the various tiles on the floor, countertops, walls. The light fixtures and sconces are unique and interesting. Nice pool area and upstairs decks. I love the feeling of having space to move around. Lots of joy and happiness in your forever home!!!!

Beautiful home…thank you for sharing with us.Before covid I was seriously thinking of downsizing which means from a cottage house to a condo,I am 75 years young and a widow.After witnessing what happened to seniors in apartments and old folks residences I certainly changed my mind,I will stay in my home and at least have freedom ,not confinement.I know people who couldn’t even leave their apartments for 3 months when covid was in its first wave…. so I don’t blame you and your husband for moving out of an apartment….

Well, it's just gorgeous! Congratulations! We've been in our 'forever' home for over 30 years and felt your same excitement when we first moved in so I'm thrilled for you. There's so much decorating and organization potential. We have a similar space under the stairs we use for Christmas decorations. It's like a secret cavern. Your new house is So pretty and livable! Love the detail and the interesting tiling! I would like the firepit close to the bbq for entertaining - that way the host can be tending to whatever he/she is cooking without leaving the guests - and even if it is just my hubby and I, we enjoy being close while tending to the cooking.
