  • You know how parents say, “I don’t have a favorite”? Not true for Lyft drivers. While Lyft drivers give hundreds, sometimes thousands, of rides, they all have at least one ride they just can’t forget.
In this video, we talked to Lyft drivers Lakishe (4,400 rides in Atlanta), Dori (5,000 rides in San Diego), and James (4,500 rides in Chicago) and asked them to share the story of their favorite Lyft ride.
It’s a question drivers get from their passengers all the time - “do you have a favorite ride?” And, it’s one of our favorite questions too! So, we asked drivers from around the country to share a story about one of their favorite rides. From driving around a local celebrity, to picking up a ship restoration expert from the airport, these drivers did not disappoint.

My favorite Lyft ride was when they started charging the rider more, but kept the difference instead of passing it onto the driver.
    CLASSIC GREED at its best!

My favorite rides are the ones which actually pay more than $1/mile, which is rare nowadays. They yanked away our fixed rate cards, and replaced them with this new upfront pay scheme. It's nothing but a way for Lyft to grab more money than ever from drivers. I'm not driving 40 miles to an airport for $27 WITH A $5 BONUS when I know that ride cost the passenger $100+. Keep in mind, that doesn't include the 10 mile pickup to the passenger... so 50 miles for $27; you're basically working for nothing at that point...

I love when Lyft takes 50 to 60 percent of the fare

It may seem unfair. However I own a business on top of being a lyft driver. The hardest part of business is getting people in the door.
I think of it as the cost of advertising.
If you think they aren't doing anything for their pay, I recomend trying to do the same job and also take on the responsibility of marketing.
If they don't deserve their cut, it should be real easy for you to make the same money or more without them.
If you aren't willing to do that, I take that to mean you can't do what they are doing FOR you.

I love it when customers pay me directly. I save them 25%, and I get to keep 100% of the fare.

This is the worst rideshare company in the world they overcharged their customers and underpaid their drivers. And the way they treat their drivers this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The drivers need to go on strike for one month and the company will go bankrupt.
