Jordan was “playing Free Saftey” before Scottie showed up and their are videos showing Jordan covering the teams best scorer on multiple occasions. Pippen helped because they could switch off when needed and not lose any quality of play. Scottie wasn’t “opening up the offense because he wasn’t a pure outside shooter. If anything Tucker or Paxon and later BJ did that.
Things need to be put in context. Seriously. My favorite player in the league as a kid was Scottie because he was more of a facilitator and defender. Kind of a point forward sometimes in the triangle. It’s a fact that Jordan needed consistency and talent to help him beat stacked teams like the Lakers, Celtics and Pistons but it isn’t like Scottie put the Bulls over the top or Horace immediately. It took Scottie with three years of defending and practicing with and against MJ before he was the player he was. Scottie would have been a damn good defender on any team but Jordan’s demand in practice got the best version of Pippen. There were nights in which, if Scottie missed his first few jumpers you knew he would be off all night. He was an inconsistent scorer in that way. So on some nights Jordan had to force the offense. The triangle actually just helped free him up to move around and get open looks. Also, he mentioned earlier in the video that Jordan played PG in the late 80’s at the end of one season and averaged a triple double while still maintaining his 30 PPG. Then, later he says Jordan struggled because he wasn’t a facilitator. Huh??
All i know is the same people who believe that Lebron is the best are the same ones who believe men can become women. Let them have their beliefs because we know the truth.
How Good Was Michael Jordan Actually? That's kind of a no-brainer question. MJ started his career winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 1984/85. That was just the start. He missed 64 games in 1985/86 and came back scoring 49 pts in game 1 and 63 pts in game 2. MJ's great offensive performances with the Bulls during the playoffs vs. the Celtics still resulted in 2 losses. You can't blame Mike, he did everything that he could possibly do. I remember in 1987 & 1988 he won the Dunk Competition. In 1989, he sunk a 2-pointer at the foul line and knocked the Cavaliers out of the playoffs. I'm not even going to talk regarding the 1990's because we all know what he did during that decade!
If you haven't already, react to: The MJ historic bulls mixtape and MJ voyager videos. And when you do, remember that he played like that all the time. These are snippets of how he always played the game... at a level way above everyone else.
I don't know how attempting shots is a weakness. Also he was asked to be the ball hog. Phil Jackson and other Bulls coaches back then have said the gameplan was to give MJ the ball and have him score, score, and score some more. He could pass as well, he has a lot of yt vids 4-8 mins long on his passing skills, shit you saw in this vid that PG stat where he had 10 triple doubles in 11 games. He just wasn't asked to do that. You talking about good "graphics" cameras (whatever that is), and not realizing you looking at like 40 year old footage LMAO WOW!!
Please do a reaction for the 1992 Dream Team documentary! My three… 1. MJ 2. Kobe 3. Larry Bird I’ve also seen Jordan LIVE/IN PERSON, kick my team’s (NY Knicks) ass when he came out of retirement from baseball. I hated him so much.😂 He is THE GOAT.
You complained about the resolution thinking the NBA didnt use “better” cameras (im assuming you meant 4k ?) that technology didnt exist til after most of Jordans career was over (they mighta had 720p by the time he played for the wizards)
He was throwing a little bit of lies in there saying the series turned around when Scotty played defense on Magic that was only for that one game if you look at the whole five games, Mike play defense on magic the whole time pretty much
Whoever made this video is a hater, all through the video, he takes shots at Jordan…His biased , ignorant comments need to stay out of the video? I give it a 4 out of 10 stars!
Pippen was a better defender than Jordan, and a majority of us who grew up watching that era agree. They were the top 2 defenders. Also, it is always mistaken/mispoken about the 93 finals that Jordan passed the ball to Paxson for the final 3-pointer. It was Horace Grant who passed it. That final play, Jordan didn't touch the ball. Pippen brought the ball up, broke down the defense on a drive, passed to Horace Grant near the rim where Grant could've dunked it for the tie, but Grant threw it out to a wide open Paxson who hit the game winning 3. Jordan kept the Bulls in the game in the 4th where he scored all the Bulls points, except Paxson's 3 point winner.
@@Jimmy-ik2kc It didn't show in the statistics. But i also said, "a majority of us believed". And I should've clarified that he was a better defender from 1991 to 1993 than Jordan (only by a hair). Pippen didn't need to have steals and blocks. He would be able to lock down ball handlers and disrupt offensive plays by "suffocating" them. The "eye test" proved to me (and my friends during that time) he was a better defender for those 2 to 3 year span.
@djfriedice7754 Scottie never had any defensive accoplishments like Jordan did .....he was never better than Jordan on defense. the false narrative that Scottie always guarded the best player is ridiculous. In the 91 finals Pippen guarded Magic parts of 1 game and Jordan guarded Magic for the rest of the series because Magic was cooking Pippen. Utah's best player was Karl Malone, and Rodman guarded him in back to back finals .....not Scottie. Shawn Kemp was Seattle's best player and Rodman was guarded him in the finals ....not Scottie.
Michael Jordan is and always will be the G.O.A.T.
💯

I was born in 1982 and saw pippen play his entire career he was the best role player of all time I think it’s painfully clear MJ helped Scottie
Pippen couldn't guard Grant Hill, and 33 year old MJ was switched on Hill, and he shut him down.
@@StarTraffic-z1o I agree Jordan used to put the clamps on Grant Hill

Well said
And 6 finals MVPs
In 87-88 - Defensive player of the year & scoring leader (averaging 35 points a game)

He did the majority of that game too.
Can you react to Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant memorial service
Phil and Scottie were there in 87 .....they didn't arrive in 90'......wtf is this commentator saying? Tex Winter joined the Bulls in 85'.
They say he is a ball hog but he's fourth overall cross shooting guards in assist per game..

Jordan played all 82 games 9 times in his carreer. Lebron only once. Talk about durability....
Man this video is full of lies. Watch his top 40 UNC highlights. This is a real ass backhanded compliment.
It's not the championships quit holding up six trophies Bill Russell has 11 Robert horry has seven so that's not it Yes Jordan is the greatest
Why you keep talking tho fam?you're not even listening to the video
LeBron James is not #2... sorry he ain't even in the top ten list .. sorry for that
You really talking nonsense
Young man, I hate to break it to you, but you never saw him play. He was a better athlete, period. MJ is the goat.

I grew up watching the Bulls, and Scottie was NOT a better defender. He was good, but his defense was overrated.
If Scottie was a better defender than Jordan ,why didn't Scottie ever have 200 steals or 100 blocks in a season?
