There are a lot of athletes where people say "there will never be another..."
And it's usually not literally true. But it is true eith MJ.
It's not just his raw ability and greatness on the court that makes that the case, though.
You could not write a fictional story that would surpass MJs story.
He was drafted while Magic and Larry were in their prime, and the league would soon need a star to lead after they left.
After being drafted, Jordan took the league by storm because of his unbelievable athleticism and skill. He broke all scoring records.
But he still couldn't get past the greats rrom the previous generation - Detroit in particular.
But he developed, and his team developed around him, and he overcame this huge obstacle.
He then beat Magic and the Lakers in the Finals.
He then sustained the success for three more years and dominated the NBA.
Then, in the prime of his career, he decides to go play baseball.
After two years, he comes back. The league is different. There are now younger stars to compete with, and no one is sure whether he can continue like he did.
He proceeds to basically re-invent his game to be more based on the mid-range and the fadeaway. He is still thr best player in the world.
His team goes on to win 72 games and three more consecutive titles.
During the six titles, he has hundreds of unique performances and clutch wins that are unbelievable.
He had the layup game against the Lakers, the Shrug game, the 55-pointer against Phoenix, the flu game, and two clutch game winners against the Jazz (and many more).
It was even better than a "storybook career."
And beyond that storybook career on the court, he was blessed with every other attribute one could think of.
His game was beautiful, he was good-looking, he had an aura, he was basically a competitive sociopath, he was smart and well-spoken, and he had this "rags-to-riches" tyoe story in which he was cut from his HS basketball team.
Just everything about him was made perfectly to olay out this story.
The timing, the dominance, the globalization of basketball, the shoes, the composition of the league, the climing if the mountain, the comeback, the respect...
    It's almost an unbelievable story.
When they speak if Michael Jordan in 100 years, people will probably think it's all exaggerated.
But it wasn't. It all really happened.

I was born in 1979 and remember the league before Jordan due to my Pops fandom. Jordan’s rookie year changed and raised my interest in the game. I had the posters and studied the movements. Not only did I have hops for my height and athleticism, but the smooth style as a reflection of MJ. From Elementary to High School I heard “It’s like MJ, but left handed” then “Reminds me of Penny, but Lefty”.👍🏾💯
I always had to adopt things from players who played under the rim since I wasn’t dunking.

stop comparing Lebron to MJ. Lebron is not, a player that MJ was. Lebron is a good player, and staying in the league going for stats. MJ was about winning. that's the difference

You just compared them. Both legends leave it at that

JORDAN ALWAYS KILL MY KNICKS! I AM A KNICK FAN IN THE 80 AND 90S AND REALIZE THAT MJ IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. THIS IS COMING FROM A KNICK FAN!

Jordan´s pace is something else, there is a reason carrying and travelling is allowed today, how can a guard match MJs pace, the guy had 7 footers hands, aint nobody pushing the ball like him at 6´9 and under, nobody. That play in ´97 Russel got that steal, against anybody else, that ball was on the stands. The little details, the man was build for basketball.

MJ doesn’t get the respect that he deserves by younger generations. Club Shay Shay had a guest on this week that said LeBron is the GOAT over MJ… 🤦‍♂️

At 39:14, that one chubby guy with the white hat and drink in his left hand and right hand up in the air has been on every MJ video since I was 8 years old. They need to find that guy and pay him.

Modern NBA isn't even a real sport anymore. A league that intentionally ignores an entire half of the game and absurdly inflates stats cannot be taken seriously or compared to any other era.
