Just discovered this band, thanks to the Joe Whiley show on BBC Radio 2. Love their exquisite use of guitar layering and ambient synth. Reminiscent of Cranberries / Pretenders / Banshees. Sublime. x

The soundtrack to every mid 90s rom com.
This is not bad stuff, it has a nice 80s influence and they got a good aesthetic. Her voice reminds me a tad bit of Debbie Harry but with a unique twist of Dolores O’Riordan in the Higher notes. She has a fantastic voice, I really think this band is going somewhere. She writes good lyrics and sings clearly and has her own very distinctive voice.

@@benjaminmitchell5345Hatchie definitely is SOMEWHERE, but definitely not where they should be in my opinion. Unfortunately Hatchie is still a very unknown/underground shoegazer rock band from Brisbane Australia. These guys are pretty talented, & I hope they one day will achieve Mainstream status (or at least somewhat close to that level of fame/& success. They really deserve it in my opinion.

More importantly, doesn't it sound rad? He has this perfect chorus + delay tone that's so rich without sounding excessive.

On the studio recording her voice is even more drowned out, think it’s what she’s going for.
