I have to thank you. I was installing a tempered glass screen protector on my C7 info screen and it slipped down the seam between the screen and trim. Yes I heard a crunching sound when I lowered the screen. I figured I would have to bite the bullet and take everything apart. I watched your video 3 times and then noticed your instruction to take the small trim piece off under the main left side trim, which I did. God was looking out for me as I could see with a flashlight the crumpled screen protector below the info screen. Fished it out with a pair of pliers and all is well. I am not a fan of RUclips due to their censorship but sometimes it's helpful.
So you replaced a known problem with a known problem, the OEM unit. Why? I’m guessing you’re also retired military, and probably an air crew member, just a hunch. I’m an MTP/FCP with A&P. Why not just re-solder the detached USB port to the terminal board? Good video. Thanks.
After doing some thorough research, I've discovered C7 owners are purchasing and replacing a $6 wire rather than a $600 unit. I think the thread is on one of the 2 main Corvette forums.
I would like to drill a hole in the cubby behind the screen for a A/F gauge. Is there a way to drop the LCD screen to access the cubby behind it once it's removed from the car?
How many part numbers are there for this screen I have found 84664816 for a '15 this video shows the part number as 84182649 for a '14 was it changed for the '15? I can't find the part number shown in the video my dealer says that 84664816 is the correct number I am thoroughly corn fused.
Mine was flickering for a while and now it does not Turn on, checked radio fuse and its good. Any ideas on what to look for and fix 2 weeks with out a radio Sucks. Thanks in advance, awesome Video.
Get the dealership to pin the problem down. If you are capable and it is the NAV screen replace it yourself. Make sure it is not just a programing problem.
My screen was failing intermittently for the last year or so. When it failed, if always seemed to be on a hot day when the interior of the car really heated up - it would generally come back the next morning after sitting in my garage overnight. About 2 weeks ago, it finally just went black ... and did not come back. However, the backup camera is working just fine!?!?! This leads me to believe the LCD itself is fine. What I read talked about the cable from the HMI module (under the driver side kick panel) possibly being loose. Does this sound likely to you? When your system failed did you have no screen at all, or did you also have the backup camera working fine? Great video, by the way.
The screen would flicker and go in/out on me. At some points, the screen would go completely out. Your problem seems much the same as mine. I do not remember if the rear camera would work or not. Thank you for the comment....Hop

@@TheWhatisright Thank you so much for your link. The point is I just talked to the dealer, and they said I need GM programming to recognize the screen. I don't know why. There is another problem. I removed the radio according to your video, but the cable inside is not broken. I was very confused about what was causing my screen to go black and blink. Could a new screen solve the problem? Thank you again! I really need your help!
It is the balance of the connector and what ever else will brake. I decided to just replace the monitor with a new one and know It is fixed for as long as I will own it. Hopefully anyway lol
I have seen them at a lower price. $549 here part number 84182649 and it replaces 23434219 www.byerschevyparts.com/p/Chevrolet__Corvette/GPS-Navigation-System/70151654/84182649.html?partner=googlebase_adwords&kwd=&origin=pla&partnerDevice=c&userLocation=9028088

Did you have to have the nav screen programmed
So it doesn’t need to be programmed by the dealer cuz I’m screen is black
I have the dame problem, how did u fixed it?
Can this screen be repaired or is the only option to replace this unit? Second what is pricing for a new one please.
Sometimes it can be repaired. However, I think the dealership will only replace the wire. Not the internal parts. A new one is about $600.
Did this fix the issue? Or does it still occur? I havr the same issue.
Yes. it did fix the issues. 100 percent operational now. No more screen problems. Hop
Is it plug and play? Or require GM programming to recognize screen?
It is plug and play.
Thanks where did u order the replacement radio from
@@TheWhatisright I was wondering where did u order the replacement radio from?

CensorTube is a miserable platform. I wish this video was hosted somewhere else.
That shouldn't have cost much to get repaired if that connector was all that was wrong with it.

How much was the new screen part?
It was $630 for the entire screen display.
