As someone who's dying from terminal illnesses at 35, I've put a lot of thought into my last meal: red lentil curry w jasmine rice! Sounds simple but it's so good and comforting
You got me...I guess you don't realize how invested we are in you guys and how sad we would be if you left. You are our stars! Our celebrities! Glad you're not leaving, but geez way to give an old lady heart palpitations!
As a puertorrican, I felt honored that Jazmine chose arroz con gandules for her last meal, so many other amazing meals she could choose from and she chose something from my country. Big thumbs up from me.
This recipe looked so delicious I quickly checked out the recipe. I cannot wait to try it. It looks and sounds amazing. I have zero experience with this dish or Puerto Rican food period. It looks like my kinda thing.
Good video, I applaud you for skipping the big wedding. My husband and I skipped it and just had a party, it was still more attention then I would have preferred, but we had a great honeymoon after, and I never regretted it.
I agree. And oddly, because I'm normally a chocolate person, I prefer the Vanilla Tofutti Cuties. They have the best, true vanilla taste and I get my chocolate fix from the wafers.
I’ve never heard of these. I am very particular about my sweets but Dairy Queen has the best frozen dessert (in the form of their Vegan Dilly Bars)I’ve come across so far. Friends prefer them to the non vegan product .
I thought you guys were breaking up when I saw the serious look on your last video when I clicked on it. But you guys are living together and want to elope before your family on wedding day! 😮😅
im with you on the wedding thing i spent my whole wedding day a mess with my anxiety. i wish we had just registered and then gone down the pub with friends and the fam.
My partner and I eloped for our wedding and honeymoon. Then a year later we did a family and friends reception and we had food, drinks, music, dancing, and played the wedding video.
It isn’t a sweet simple vegan video if Chris doesn’t almost choke on food, water, or air 😅❤ also is it bothering anyone else a lil too much that the cuties are sitting there melting 😢😅
Tofutti Cuties were the afternoon snack at least once a week at a vegan inclusive summer camp that someone I know attended in the 1980s. She says her favorite tofutti ice cream in the 1980s was their pint of almond bark - does it still exist? - which hardly melted, and she used to get all the tofutti products, including the cheeses of all kinds, since the late 1970s or early 1980s. She used to put their soy cheese on bread in the toaster oven as one of the first "recipes" she learned to make for herself as a child. One thing to add - she says her vegan chocolate cookies with vegan vanilla ice cream that she started making to mimic the tofutti cuties she used to get, under baking the cookies to be soft like the tofutti cuties, might be the second best. She feeds them to everyone and shares the recipe. It's amazing how people are still eating or are new to what people were enjoying as children in camp and at friend's houses decades ago. It's really nice.
Very good plan for your wedding. How I wish I would have had a small get together for my wedding. It was all so stressful and I did not enjoy our day at all.
I appreciate your sentiments on your wedding and not spending an outrageous amount on it! So many couples do and start their marriage off in huge DEBT because of it. My daughter had an intimate wedding with just close family and friends, under 40 guest and it was great. Some family and friends have also shared in the arrangement of the reception with just having a buffet style and the same family and friends bring a dish for the occasion, and with so many (at least 40) there is a lot of food for everyone or of course there are caterer's for it too. I'd spend my money on a great Photographer and/or Videographer to capture your special moment. Wedding's don't and shouldn't cost an "arm and a leg" IMHO. Your adob and beans with rice dish looks so delish! Will have to check out your other video's for them. Thanks so much for sharing...
This video is kinda morbid... xD But since I'm really extra, my last meal would be mozzarella sticks, caesar salad, and pesto pasta, with a Mountain Dew, and for dessert I'd have a funfetti cupcake as well as creme brulee lmao
Hmm. This may sound strange to everyone but, if it was my last day, I’d be so busy hugging my friends and family, just one more time, I wouldn’t want to waste time eating.
Tofutti cuties… here for the vegans when no one else was. I definitely understand what you mean by it having a special place in your heart. pure nostalgia for me
My husband and I got married last summer. This year we’re together 15 years since we first met in 2008. We had a total of 11 people (including the two of us) at the local judge at the town hall and then we went out for a wedding dinner afterwards locally, around the corner from the justice hall. It was perfect- not complicated or stressful! We had my brother and his wife and two kids and my husband’s brother and their two kids and mother in law. I don’t regret this at all. Wishing you guys all the best! 🎉
I was actually thinking about the meat for your last meal question before you even said it lol. I wouldn't ever eat any meat it just grosses me out now. Although it would be nice to eat my moms lasagna or some of my favorite childhood meals. My last meal would probably be similar to a thanksgiving meal. Its just so comforting and it reminds me of being with family.
I’m vegan and for my last meal I would consider having my favorite childhood food (French dish called galette bretonne) just because it’s impossible to veganize (it’s literally ham cheese and egg) and I haven’t had it in almost 10 years but at the same time I can’t look at animal foods the same way anymore and I’d probably feel guilty 🥲 a vegan meal for my last meal would still make me happy and I would go with a clear conscience lol
I would have raclette or fondue as I'm from Switzerland and it's still my absolutely favorite. You can make your galette bretonne veganizing it with smoked tofu for the ham part and hummus with black Salt as everybody says it tastes like eggs. I personally don't eat meat nor fish but consume dairy and eggs. But if I didn't I would try to veganize it that way. You might be surprised and find a new way to eat your favorite ☺️
My #1 pick is red curry with squash & fried tofu. The style you get from SE Asian immigrants in Chicago/the Midwest. Then I need to add grilled cheese and tomato soup to dip it in, pasta with vodka sauce, and a frangipane croissant (all vegan of course). I'm sure there's more but those are the most important. Love you guys, xoxoxo
Ha! You had me there for a minute... I'm not vegan, but my last meal would be my husband's kahlua cheesecake and some kind of decadent pasta dish with garlic bread or a greek mixed platter. I think I should have been born Italian or Greek. LOL
Okay, I’m new to actually becoming vegan….been putting it off for too long so y’all can yell at me. 😩 I’m sure I don’t know much, as I live in Kansas and don’t really have many options like Chris was showing…but I’m currently loving the Field Roast mini corn dogs. 😂
The have some amazing Vegan food on their channel! Love their Tofu recipes. Been a Vegetarian/Vegan for almost 2 decades now, and although from time to time I miss a great chicken/pork/beef recipe, I'm glad (for health reasons) I made this Life Style change for so many reasons. And with so many option for Vegan foods now it's easier to embrace! Welcome to your new Life Style!
I just subscribed to you guys a couple of weeks ago you had me there. Glad it was a prank I’ve learned a lot from you both In addition you guys make it so easy being vegan. This is my second time going vegan so many meal choices.Thank you ❤
How the heck have I been vegan for over a decade and had no idea tofutti had ice cream sandwiches?! I'm a major foodie and try all the vegan products but this wasnt on my radar. Never seen them at the store and I'll now be on a mission to find them. I do like the So Delicious sandwhiches, wonder how they will compare?
My last meal on earth would be either Pad Woonsen, or maybe a Thai yellow curry with tofu and sweet potatoes. Or maybe Indian food , Sag Paneer with Tofu or non-dairy cheese. I’d want to be on the beach in my local area with my husband and family.
It’s currently 4/20 😂😂😂 love it! I have a terminal lung disease and I have thought what my last meal would be… Pancit! Our friends, who are from the Philippines, make the best ever! They actually make me a vegan version with tofu that I love!
My last meal would definitely be from my favorite Mexican vegan spot, they remind me of all the foods I loved growing up but made vegan-friendly. I definitely have to eat 10 tamales and nachos before I die.
The potluck is definitely a video I would watch. Maybe the recipe, but, also why they chose it. For me I would want a certain meal my mom always makes because it's so comforting, or the one soup my late grandmother always made growing up when I was sick. Something comforting and nourishing. My grandmother made a chicken fricot which is a stew with potatoes, so instead of chicken I would put chickpeas or lentils. My mom's meal.. changes daily but she has this recipe for a portabello mushroom pasta recipe that's vegan and so good. It's got crushed almonds in it. It's so good and the mushrooms have a meaty texture. The last thing I would do, I'd want time with those most important to me. Family and friends are always most important to me. A good pot luck just as a get together. I don't know if I'd tell them or not, because I would want the last meal together/time together to be a happy time.
Last week I had a veggie sub from Firehouse sub. I added vegan steak and cheese. It was so good and tasted like a Philly cheesesteak. I choose that as my last meal.
something about a big indian meal, with good vegan curries, onion bahjis, samosas and naan sounds so appealing for a last meal... or a mexican feast with margaritas... either way i'd be happy (or not bc i'd die but well...)
you havent lived till you had so delicious ice cream snadwhiches!! i was just talking w my friend about the tofutti pizza.. that was the OG vegan pizza closest to elios!
