I got to say, as a former owner of a 2009 Fiesta, Ford has done a great job on the new version. It looks great, kept all the traits that made the last car a big seller & now has a nice modern interior. Well done Ford. Great job as always Thomas.
Thomas thank you so very very much for your review on the Fiesta 2018, it has been really helpful in my decision to buy one. Your in-depth reviews are, in my opinion, the best in the video review arena, and incredibly useful. Once again, thank you:)
Came back to watch review after using rental car in the same engine+gearbox configuration to compare the impressions and must admit your view on the car is identical :)
This is the 1st time I have seen the very first generation of the Ford Fiesta (though color is "unique"). Every interesting contrast against the 2018 version of the Fiesta. Nicely done, team.
A very professional and detailed review. Thank you. However I cannot understand the numerous critical reviews below. I have just driven my daughters classic mini cooper. No electric windows, no central locking, no air conditioning. knees in my eye line, bumpy suspension!!! Come on viewers, these cars today are space age and extremely nice to waft along in. I am off to my Ford Dealer to order one.
Really love that green on that first generation Fiesta. I wish Ford had done more to differentiate the 'face' of the new Fiesta. I think it looks too similar to the previous one. There are a lot of upgrades made to this generation over the previous and the face just does not do it justice.
Thanks for the detailed review, Thomas. Good to see the old Fiestas. I am interested in a comparison with the new Polo. My loyalty is to the Ford but the exterior and interior design of the Polo looks more grown-up.
You know what? I am for the Vignale Fiesta strategy! I've seen how MINI is fooling the customers in paying double the price for a car which doesn't cost more than other lesser cars to build and shares basic parts with all of MINI's other cars and those of BMW as well! Even the MINI First, with 75hp, will cost you about 30k when fully loaded with kit! 75hp for 30k is unjustifiable, unless we're talking about a Caterham!
Lot of new cars in this segment. Ford Fiesta, Nissan Micra, Suzuki Swift, Citroen C3, Kia Rio, Seat Ibiza, Vw Polo. All these are very good but I would personally go for a new Vw Polo, yeah it costs more but it is way more better than competition. Looking forward to a full review. :)
Petar Aleric How can you tell if you have never sat in or even driven the new Polo? Yes, it is a very good car, like the new Ibiza or all the others. Yes there are differences, but not as big. I think it's more about taste and preferences. One person needs a huge trunk and much space on the back seats and likes the "magic seats" of a Honda Jazz. Another person likes naturally aspirated engines, a low fuel consumption, a nice handling and solid build quality and finds it in a Mazda 2 because backspace is not so important for him/her. A third one is all about the brand, no matter what the prices are. He or she will maybe go for an Audi A1. The last one goes for a Polo, because this car has won so many tests. The reason why this car is a little bit more expensive is because VW had to pay all these magazines and reviewers that their Polo will win. Bad guy, how can I say something like that 😀
Christian Schumacher As I said: "I would personally go". So this is my taste. I am driving current 2014 Polo and it is awesome. Fast, good build quality, low consumption, stable at high speeds... and with new generation you will get modern infotainment system, full LED lights, way more space inside, virtual cockpit... As I said all of others are very good modern cars, and you can't fail going with either.
I believe that the looks of the car were purposely created to cater for different market segments. I don’t like This titanium trim but I really like the look of the new ST, but my sister might like this blue titanium one because it’s cuter and more suitable to her personality. That’s the point. The previous fiesta was very much the same car in every trim which limits its use for different people. It’s also a big change because of the very different tail lights. Some people don’t like it but I think it will start to grow on everyone when you see the car on the road more often, it will start to make the old fiesta look dated.
Good review as always! Nice to see you criticise the 'iffy' perceived quality also, most German journalists normally keep that for French or Italian cars...Anyway I like this Fiesta (in Ruby red for me please) but it is just soooo expensive, new cars are have become unaffordable for most, no wonder car sales aren't really rising across Europe and the Dacia Sandero is doing so well with private buyers
I know right, when I saw 20k for a shitty the size of a shoebox car like the VW Up I just couldn't believe my eyes. Who in their right mind would ever pay that much for a glorified shopping kart.
I'm not keen on the way that Ford have stuck the infotainment screen on as a rushed after thought. It's as if they forgot to design it into the dash in the first place then hurriedly stuck it on. Mercedes also does this and, to my eyes, it spoils an otherwise stylish dashboard.
David Padbury When positioning the central display you will always have to find a compromise: 1. It's easier to watch when positioned higher. 2. It's easier to reach when positioned higher. 3. It's up to indivudual taste what position looks better. I like the higher position better even designwise, others don't.
A pretty color, a sleek and updated look that reminds me of the focus (of which I'm a fan). I thought the infotainment system looked a bit like it had been jammed into the center console, but overall I'm rather impressed. I guess I am learning to accept some U.S. car brands! Thanks Thomas and Autogefühl!
Love this car, bought a Vignale (got a really good deal on it) .. BTW the reason the adaptive cruise control cancelled is because you where in the S mode not in the D mode.
Has a more mature/classy exterior than previous model. Like the variation of grille designs from base to Titanium. Interior is a huge improvement but still not up there with the likes of VW Polo.. looks very similar to larger new Hyundai i30 dashboard. 2017 and still with rear drum brakes? Great review as always Thomas.
The Polo GTI for example has disc brakes in the rear, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/lu8z-HIc4WI/видео.html So I think it depends on the engine you pick if you have drum or disc brakes in the rear, same accounts for the Ford Fiesta: ruclips.net/video/7aqhdBm3njc/видео.html
Thank you very much for your interesting review. You did not mention anything about foglights with corner function. the fiesta that you are riding is equipt with foglight with corner function. Please explain it for your viewers what foglights with conrner funtions are . thank you
watching this with great interest as I love my candy blue 2016 Fiesta ecoboost and don't know if I should change to this new model when the PCP lease runs out in less than 12 months time.....
How do you rate the refinement (as a motorway cruiser) of the Polo? There seems to be quite a bit of road noise entering the cabin. I'm wondering how its refinement compares with the new Ford Fiesta.
Ford Fiesta's interior room is a joke; I'm 177.5cm tall and there's no way I could sit behind myself in the rear seat! I really don't know how Thomas could get himself back there!
thanks! The Fiesta is a lot of fun to drive indeed and sportier in the base spec. But I have the feeling the Polo could be a little quieter. But the biggest difference is that the Polo has a better interior quality. However, both cars surely come close and I would decide upon the concise price i get at the dealer's
Great review Thomas but you didn't talk about the auto transmission. How many gears and is it still a powershift dual-clutch box or a the traditional torque-converter type.
Awesome review as always. I hope you will also review the ST model when it is released in early 2018 because I am considering buying it. And I want to hear your opinion first.
Not a fan of the front end styling or side profile but like the rear end and interior. Also good to see improvement on infotainment as previous model was well and truly out of date. Corsa still has the edge for interior space and technology (OnStar).
Love the looks, hate the tablet on dashboard. What about Active version? It was introduced too, higher base with plastic covers on wheel arches and such...was it cancelled? Great review as always with Thomas
I'm genuinely thinking about buying a vignale but every review I've seen dismisses them or glazes over them. It would be nice to see someone review them in a more in depth way. I don't think they're bad value for money as the amount of kit you get on them you don't get for the same price in an Audi A1 etc
+Ben Monk Thank you for taking interest in this very important topic! We have researched this issue for many years now so please take your time to go through our extensive resources stated below as they answer every single question we have yet received concerning this matter. At Autogefühl, we have already received several thousands (!) comments, messages and mails that more and more people want to combine enjoying their car with reducing the environmental impact at the same time. We believe that sustainable luxury is possible or at least we should do everything to support that. Those many thousand people confirming this trend, motivate us to give you the most authentic information and background on the product parts. It is not about what you bought in the past, and it is not about blaming anyone, it is about what you decide in the future and what you can decide and influence as a customer. So we want you to have all information that you need for a decision you later enjoy and like best yourself. In Summer 2017, Tesla motors has decided to be the first manufacturer to go all the way with sustainable seat materials, only offering fabric/cloth seats or leatherette seats in different colours. They have banned all real leather from the seating surface and at the steering wheel in the white trim or on demand. So Tesla shows where the industry will and must be heading, just like they went forward with electrification first. Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production: ruclips.net/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/видео.html List of practical reasons against animal skin seats: 1. animal skin seats are often sold as an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it) 2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat, probably you need seat cooling 3. they get very cold in winter and you need seat heating 4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling 5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like an old sofa 6. if you want leather look or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review ruclips.net/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/видео.html) So Tesla shows a good example for that and as described, non-leather materials are now standard for ALL Tesla 7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather) To the environmental reasons: 1. The way the cows and other intelligent and social animals are raised and held are not according to the basic values that we all share (also see videos below) 2. The factory farming industry can be accounted for at least 40 % of climate emissions and thus is (according to numerous sources you can look up) the number one reason for climate change and environmental destruction. It is the number one reason for deforestation, two thirds of all agricultural land on earth is used for growing animal food crops. If you would feed humans directly by using the agricultural land, you could produce much more food for everyone. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf 3. It is not only cows who are suffering, but also the environment and to a big part also humans. Think of slavery-like working conditions in slaughterhouses (there are plenty of documentaries about this) or think of chemically altered drinking water in animal skin production villages as also seen in the video footage. 4. The discussion, for which body part the cow is killed first, is very patronizing. But if you really think it would be important why someone gets killed in first place: There are many productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even while still being (part-)alive, the skin is the most profitable single part of the body. 5. So even if a cow gets theoretically killed for meat first, in every case you give additional money to an industry that relies on killing, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals. Let's say you are standing at the meat counter. And you ask for the leg of the cow. The butcher tells you: "You can eat that without worrying, the cow was slaughtered for the neck first". The next customer demands the neck. The butcher tells him: "It's not your fault, the cow was slaughtered for the belly". A the next customer demands the hide, what answer does he get? You see, that argument of "byproduct" comes from the meat and leather industry to cover up that you contribute to killing no matter which part of the body you buy. 6. To the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information. A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/ To “But leatherette is not sustainable due to petrochemical production” 1. Indeed some fabrics and micro fibres are oil based, however most oil is spent on energy production, heating and fuel. The share of oil used for artificial cloth etc. is very very small. 2. If you look at the whole production process, the leatherette is way more sustainable than the leather produce. 3. The best to-come solution are indeed plant-based materials like Pinatex (based on pineapple leaves) or new materials based on mycelia (roots of mushrooms) or other innovative natural products. That’s the future. More special video episodes: 1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: ruclips.net/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/видео.html 2. And another one right here: ruclips.net/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/видео.html 3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: ruclips.net/video/JipYvuDsI6s/видео.html timecode starting 27:46 4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: ruclips.net/video/OgHs239bAnE/видео.html 5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway. Manufacturers reactions: We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL. If it all would be clean and happening without harm, why don’t they show it to us whereas they are showing us every other detail of their products? They have good reason not to, because there is no such thing as a clean animal skin production without harming cows, humans and the environment. The only thing a manufacturer can do is increase their effort for a better future, and we are helping with in-depth talks and interviews by presenting the increasing customer demand for sustainable luxury. Tesla was the first one to react in a major way now. So meanwhile, we more often also get feedback that a lot of manufacturers are working on leather-free interiors and are aware of the situation. E.g. Bentley, Mini and Kia have started vegan car interior programmes. Besides Tesla, Mercedes already shows major choices for sustainable interiors, you always have to pay attention to the details when ordering, of course - and we are happy to give advice. However, much has to be done still and the Autogefuehl community is massively helping in boosting the positive change! Help to raise awareness on this subject. Thanks!
Question Thomas!! I've just bought one of these brand new, but didn't pay for the upgraded b&o system. How does the standard sound system sound? I listen to rock music and am hoping the sound system can cope with it! I've seen they offer a pioneer subwoofer at my dealer but wanted to know if I need it or not? Hope you see this and reply, coz I need to decide within the next few days before I pick it up! Stupidly, I didn't try the sound system before buying 😕 very good video btw, I've watched it several times 😊
I find that Its still cheaper than this years suzuki swift sport but offers more....its something in between a suzuki swift sport and a vw golf...for less the price of both
Super!
Can't agree with you there. For that much money, competition offers it, and not only on the highest trim levels. It's a tiny luxury that makes you feel more welcome in your own car. (Personal preference, but I talk a lot about these thing with my friends and colleagues, and they say the same)
The top of the range Titanium X has electric rear windows as standard. Unlike the Corsa and Micra which rear electric windows are just not available at all.
Hi Thomas. Greetings from Schwarzwald Germany. I really like your videos. I am considering to buy the new Ford Fiesta. I am a little bit confused regarding the engine. Which one should I pick between the 100 PS and the 125 PS 1.0 l ecoboost engine with respect to driving on the German Autobahns? I will have mix usage both in cities and the Autobahns. Is the difference in the power really makes a difference for Autobahns? Thank you and keep up the good work?
Hey guys. Thanks for the great review. Any idea on the.fuel consumption for the 100hp automatic for my use? 150kms (2*75kms) a day on small country roads
Not keen on the new softer looks, but then the previous pre-facelift design was always going to be a hard act to follow and this will probably be also evident by the marketing strategy. Never driven a fiesta, but from what i can see is that the steering does not look as direct as what i've been hearing/reading from journalists. Would like to know is how the driving dynamics compare to the new Ibiza. I don't know if it's just my preception but the Fiesta seems to have a revolutionery design every second life cycle with an evolution immediately after.
Thank you for another good review! :-) Great looking car. Are the driving dynamics just as good as the now previous generation? Steering, chassis, etc?
You said it's more direct than the previous version. I suppose you by that mean that it's driving better than the previous version then? I asked because I've seen a few reviews now where some of the reviewers disagree on this.
Autogefühl thank you for the fast reply. I thought it was heavy on fuel, with ecoboost falsely advertised as eco and with auto shifter. Great job on the review, as always.
Thank you Thomas for such a comprehensive review. Like you I would prefer the car with the auto gearbox. However , I have heard that there have been some reliability problems with Fords earlier dual clutch powershift auto boxes. Do you know if these problems have been solved ?
Autogefühl In Australia Ford is being taken to court . Apparently , over half of the 70000 fiesta and focus models sold between 2011 and 2016 with dual clutch boxes have been back to Ford with problems.
Thanks to this review, I searched markets in Germany and France and then went back to my dealer in Luxembourg to tell him the option was available just across the border. He phoned Ford directly and apparently he hadn't read the email from the company in January. Got the ACC option for a third of the package price as he added 500 euros to the price of our old car as an apology. It was a good deal... Thank you!
Does the USB Port in the Back work as a music Input? Or is it just for charge and mobile Connection? If you got the Navigation, is the SD Card for Navigation only or can i put music there too? Thx for help.
Autogefühl that was what I thought. Would have loved no USB Stick in Sight. I got the middle console with the armrest on my ordered Fiesta. Would have been good to use the USB IN the armrest for music. :)
On a forum someone who got his Fiesta already confirmed that the rear USB port can be used for music from USB. Even Flac is played well. Just if someone has the same interest.
I like the exterior design of the predecessor, but I like this one even better. I don't however like the interior of the predecessor at all. Way too many buttons! The new interior is a real improvement, both from the handling and the design. The central display is positioned high, the instruments look good. The space for passengers in the back is not the best in class. But this wouldn't bother me. The 100 hp engine is the best compromise between power, consumption and smooth running. The chassis is sporty and comfortable at the same time. The automatic gearbox seems to be very good. So yes, this could be a car for me. Designwise I like it better than the new Polo just from the videos. The new Polo or the new Ibiza are definitely no high flyers anymore in comparison to the new Fiesta. The Fiesta, the Polo, the Corsa or the Ibiza are very good cars, but none of them can claim for itself to be far ahead of the others. Everyone can find the car he or she likes best. There is no reason at all to put down another car that's not of one's favourite brand. As a person who appreciates the Autogefühl reviews I must say it's very nice to talk with others about certain aspects of cars in a fair and friendly and respectful way. Always keep in mind two things before you put down another brand or use curse words: 1. Would you say that directly to a person? 2. How would you feel if someone put you down and used cursewords against you?
Zu Recht "one of the best selling cars in the world"
I got a new 2017 ford fiesta se sedan I love mine I hope they bring them to the USA they handle like xa go kart get great gas mileage hey I used to live in bad nauhiem Germany 1983 to 1985 my dad was in the army I loved Germany I hope I can bring my daughter there one day
From some angles it looks ok. But I wouldn't consider it over any of the other B Segment cars that just look cooler to me. The Vignale branding in general seems ridiculous to me. The Vignale grille looks the worst of all of them.

The sensor on the wheel arch area is a big plus. This new model is a big step up from the previous one.

I'm not keen on the way that Ford have stuck the infotainment screen on as a rushed after thought. It's as if they forgot to design it into the dash in the first place then hurriedly stuck it on. Mercedes also does this and, to my eyes, it spoils an otherwise stylish dashboard.
David Padbury When positioning the central display you will always have to find a compromise:
1. It's easier to watch when positioned higher.
2. It's easier to reach when positioned higher.
3. It's up to indivudual taste what position looks better. I like the higher position better even designwise, others don't.
Probably more for cost cutting reasons.
very informative your voice is soft we can hear you clearly unlike others they are eating their words...
👌
I just ordered the new Active model, so was interested in this video. Very detailed, good work!
The old mk7 already the aston martin grille for the facelift
Look forward to a review of the face lifted Mark 8
A pretty color, a sleek and updated look that reminds me of the focus (of which I'm a fan). I thought the infotainment system looked a bit like it had been jammed into the center console, but overall I'm rather impressed. I guess I am learning to accept some U.S. car brands! Thanks Thomas and Autogefühl!
+Nathan Scarborough thanks nathan!
Best in depth review online. Great job, subscribed.
welcome !!
Love this car, bought a Vignale (got a really good deal on it) .. BTW the reason the adaptive cruise control cancelled is because you where in the S mode not in the D mode.
Great video, I bought the automatic today because of this so thanks. Just gotta wait a month for it to arrive now.
Congrats 🎉
Yes, another good review!!! I'm fans of yours channel, I watch every episode that u post..very interesting indeed
great to have you with us!
the ST line is the best looking one
it even looks better than the real ST haha
Has a more mature/classy exterior than previous model. Like the variation of grille designs from base to Titanium. Interior is a huge improvement but still not up there with the likes of VW Polo.. looks very similar to larger new Hyundai i30 dashboard.
2017 and still with rear drum brakes?
Great review as always Thomas.
check the specific comment on the brake situation in the exterior part :)
The Polo GTI for example has disc brakes in the rear, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/lu8z-HIc4WI/видео.html
So I think it depends on the engine you pick if you have drum or disc brakes in the rear, same accounts for the Ford Fiesta: ruclips.net/video/7aqhdBm3njc/видео.html
Prefer this to the forthcoming Polo, which looks bland as VW products do. This will also no doubt have much sharper driving dynamics than the Polo.
If Ford produced a Fiesta with more rear legroom, would that not make it as big as a Focus?
it also depends on the package inside, compare e.g. our Honda Jazz review: ruclips.net/video/bwzg2rpI_Ek/видео.html
Thank you very much for your interesting review. You did not mention anything about foglights with corner function. the fiesta that you are riding is equipt with foglight with corner function. Please explain it for your viewers what foglights with conrner funtions are . thank you
Thanks! When you turn left or right the foglamp on the respective side lights up so that where you are turning is illuminated
This guy always does great reviews
thanks keep following us!
the best reviewer on you tube !!!
Thanks !! Make sure to activate the notifications that you see every new review!
Finally a dedicated lock and unlock buttons for the doors, unlike the previous generation with that shitty ass one button on the center console.
very detailed review, gotta thank you for that. can you do a review on focus St?
thanks!

Can I order the navigation option with the purchase of the new car as an extra?
watching this with great interest as I love my candy blue 2016 Fiesta ecoboost and don't know if I should change to this new model when the PCP lease runs out in less than 12 months time.....
+Christopher Martin thx 4 tuning in!
... and the answer is.... I will buy the 2016 Fiesta when the PCP runs out in a few weeks :-)
How do you rate the refinement (as a motorway cruiser) of the Polo? There seems to be quite a bit of road noise entering the cabin. I'm wondering how its refinement compares with the new Ford Fiesta.
the Polo is surely more refined if you are talking about that. However the all-new Polo driving test is yet to come, you should stay tuned for that!
Many thanks. Yes, it is the comparative refinement of the new Fiesta with the new Polo that interests me (esp. road and wind noise). I'll stay tuned!
st line doesn't come with drum backs on the back right ?or did the occasion i bought came with discs cause the first owner ticked that option ?
Ford Fiesta's interior room is a joke; I'm 177.5cm tall and there's no way I could sit behind myself in the rear seat! I really don't know how Thomas could get himself back there!
what do you mean "long term quality may be in question" minute 6:40
long-term driving comfort quality
Autogefühl Thank you for the answer and for review!
Could you test a 2017 st model from the USA thomas you do awsome detailed reviews
We ll have the true ST in full review this year for sure!
After tomorrow I'm receiving mine 🔥 125CV hybrid manual
Enjoy!!
It's basically a mini-focus now seems as if modern cars no longer have individuality. I miss individual looks
Nice review Thomas, i have a question !
Which are better for acustic comfort and drive pleasure, Fiesta Titanium 125 hp or Polo 115 hp?
thanks! The Fiesta is a lot of fun to drive indeed and sportier in the base spec. But I have the feeling the Polo could be a little quieter. But the biggest difference is that the Polo has a better interior quality. However, both cars surely come close and I would decide upon the concise price i get at the dealer's
I really love the way you reviewed.
thanks join us for more!
Great review Thomas but you didn't talk about the auto transmission. How many gears and is it still a powershift dual-clutch box or a the traditional torque-converter type.
6 speed m8, afaik they dropped the DCT, but let me just ask them to be 100 % sure.
Thanks!
It is indeed switched to converter now.
The touchscreen on this Fiesta seems more responsive than the one on the new Audi A8!
Thomas, did you have a chance to sit in the back of the 3-door version? If so, how did the headroom compare to the 5-door?
hey m8, I didnt try, the cars are the same length
ah, sorry - I just looked on their configurator and both appear to be the exact same shape, just with more/fewer doors.
+akamonobrow yep
Great review as always Thomas!
thanks keep joining us!
Awesome review as always.
I hope you will also review the ST model when it is released in early 2018 because I am considering buying it. And I want to hear your opinion first.
+Pophilio will do!
Awesome, cant wait for it. Enjoy your weekend :)
Brilliant review, than you for providing so much detail.
that's waht Autogefühl is all about =)
Great job done. You`ve got a new subscriber. Your reviews are perfect
welcome !!
Not a fan of the front end styling or side profile but like the rear end and interior. Also good to see improvement on infotainment as previous model was well and truly out of date. Corsa still has the edge for interior space and technology (OnStar).
Nice and good Car, this Ford Fiesta ! The best and beautyful Car you can buy off this car - class !
Why is one of the four wheel nuts different than the other three, for each wheel ?
Does anyone know the answer ?
Love the looks, hate the tablet on dashboard. What about Active version? It was introduced too, higher base with plastic covers on wheel arches and such...was it cancelled? Great review as always with Thomas
Active will follow later!
Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production:
ruclips.net/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/видео.html
List of practical reasons against animal skin seats:
1. animal skin seats are often sold as an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it)
2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat, probably you need seat cooling
3. they get very cold in winter and you need seat heating
4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling
5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like an old sofa
6. if you want leather look or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review ruclips.net/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/видео.html) So Tesla shows a good example for that and as described, non-leather materials are now standard for ALL Tesla
7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather)
To the environmental reasons:
1. The way the cows and other intelligent and social animals are raised and held are not according to the basic values that we all share (also see videos below)
2. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf
A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/
To “But leatherette is not sustainable due to petrochemical production”
More special video episodes:
1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: ruclips.net/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/видео.html
2. And another one right here: ruclips.net/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/видео.html
3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: ruclips.net/video/JipYvuDsI6s/видео.html
timecode starting 27:46
4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: ruclips.net/video/OgHs239bAnE/видео.html
5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway.
Manufacturers reactions:
We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL.
Thanks!
Sounds like a great time thank you
Question Thomas!!
Cheers! Dunno the comparison but just the subwoofer wont make the difference
is the vignale also available on the carwow website?
The vignale is too expensive and full of animal skin
I find that Its still cheaper than this years suzuki swift sport but offers more....its something in between a suzuki swift sport and a vw golf...for less the price of both
Best review on RUclips!!!
thanks! Remember to activate notifications for our channel (little bell next to the subscribe button) that you dont miss new reviews!
So will the U.S. version have rear disks on all models? I doubt we'll be getting anything less than 100hp.
sounds like it
Super!
Thomas I like your new haircut, I dig that polyester look.
Higher trim level, but you can't control the rear side windows...
I was wondering why is the Fiesta sedan not sold in Europe? It's sold in the USA.
André Nunes Small sedans don't sell here, this is hatchback land.
Pedro Silva I've noticed every time I go visit Portugal....but living in the US I got accustomed to sedans. lol
Greetings! Same engine, different Software - so not too different
@@autogefuehl thanks!!!
Hey guys. Thanks for the great review. Any idea on the.fuel consumption for the 100hp automatic for my use? 150kms (2*75kms) a day on small country roads
+Sofien IKHLEF thx! Checking the driving part?
I actually have, twice now (it's how much I like you guys ah ah) but still no sign of consumption, a rough idea maybe?
Hm I thought I mentioned it. Was quite high about 8 l
Does the car feel any quicker than the 0-62 time suggests 12.2 seconds...
I don't know if it's just my preception but the Fiesta seems to have a revolutionery design every second life cycle with an evolution immediately after.
ruclips.net/video/ynkQCkBvXQs/видео.html
Thank you for another good review! :-) Great looking car. Are the driving dynamics just as good as the now previous generation? Steering, chassis, etc?
Thanks! I think I exactly covered those questions, didnt I ?
You said it's more direct than the previous version. I suppose you by that mean that it's driving better than the previous version then? I asked because I've seen a few reviews now where some of the reviewers disagree on this.
Fuel economy with this combo? Didnt find it in video, maybe i missed it...
between 8 and 9 l / 100 km - pretty heavy.
Autogefühl thank you for the fast reply. I thought it was heavy on fuel, with ecoboost falsely advertised as eco and with auto shifter. Great job on the review, as always.
Hi Thomas is the sat nav a option on the titanium standard version.
the bigger screen is included in the high trim, but the GPS system is always an option
Autogefühl Hi Thomas the Ford Fiesta titanium standard version comes with gps as standard in the United Kingdom but thank you for reply.
Thank you Thomas for such a comprehensive review. Like you I would prefer the car with the auto gearbox. However , I have heard that there have been some reliability problems with Fords earlier dual clutch powershift auto boxes. Do you know if these problems have been solved ?
+peter g. Thx! Hmm havent heard
Autogefühl In Australia Ford is being taken to court . Apparently , over half of the 70000 fiesta and focus models sold between 2011 and 2016 with dual clutch boxes have been back to Ford with problems.
+peter g. Oh wow! But the new one should be a different one?
Autogefühl. I Hope so !
True bro. Sadly Seat ibiza has a better legroom for back seat riders. Shit i really like this car more than ibiza but i hate this point.
Great review but the new design reminds me of a face lifted B Max.
nice review .Fuel consumption ?
Thanks 🙏 all in the review!
Thanks 🙏 all in the review!
@@autogefuehl where?in other reviews you have the consumption on camera in real time.why not in this review?
I usually mention it at some point in the driving part
Nice car ... I'll have to start saving up for one!
What would you recommend 2 buy seat Leon vw golf or Ford Fiesta
Ford Fiesta = vs. the cars listed in the video description!
Golf and Leon are vs Focus
however you can also check those here. Just youtube search "autogefuehl vw golf" etc.
Adaptive cruise control with an automatic gear box? I was told this combination isn't possible on this car. Otherwise, you have convinced me.
might not be available in every market
Thanks to this review, I searched markets in Germany and France and then went back to my dealer in Luxembourg to tell him the option was available just across the border. He phoned Ford directly and apparently he hadn't read the email from the company in January. Got the ACC option for a third of the package price as he added 500 euros to the price of our old car as an apology. It was a good deal... Thank you!
cool =)
Very very good review thanks so much.
+Engin Akbaylar 👌👌
Does the USB Port in the Back work as a music Input? Or is it just for charge and mobile Connection?
If you got the Navigation, is the SD Card for Navigation only or can i put music there too?
Thx for help.
hmm afaik in the back only for charging, never heard of rear USB inputs. Not sure though
Nice review as always! :)
thx m8 !
Always keep in mind two things before you put down another brand or use curse words:
1. Would you say that directly to a person?
2. How would you feel if someone put you down and used cursewords against you?
I thought all Fiesta's over 100 bph have disk brakes at the rear. I could be wrong though
+kamata93 didn't i say so?
Could be, I'm still sleeping I guess :D
+kamata93 check the close-up of the drum brakes and listen again 😁
Gonna wait for the new Polo.. much more grown up, modern and higher build quality.
Then also add the other mariad of problems they've had and have and you'll figure out VW and quality don't really fit in the same sentence.
Kannst du die neue S-Klasse vorstellen?
+B.S kommt bald!
Zu Recht "one of the best selling cars in the world"
Ibiza is wider bro . Right?
not there would be much difference...
@@autogefuehl i think the rear seat the leg room is narrower
Dear Autogefühl, "Titanium" is another model than the "ST-Line". In the description you say "Titanium ST-Line". That one doesn't exist.
that is not meant together but rather in a sense Titanium AND ST-Line as we also showed the ST-Line in the video
I added "&" =)
Autogefühl Haha okay. ;) Thanks for all the great reviews by the way. Greetings from The Netherlands. ☺️
I got a new 2017 ford fiesta se sedan I love mine I hope they bring them to the USA they handle like xa go kart get great gas mileage hey I used to live in bad nauhiem Germany 1983 to 1985 my dad was in the army I loved Germany I hope I can bring my daughter there one day
you re always welcome in our country! :)
From some angles it looks ok. But I wouldn't consider it over any of the other B Segment cars that just look cooler to me. The Vignale branding in general seems ridiculous to me. The Vignale grille looks the worst of all of them.
