Notes: - A myth I have heard is that part of the deepslate ore vein has to be in stone; this is not true, though, deepslate emerald ore can generate completely in deepslate or tuff. Emerald ore is more common higher up though, so you are more likely to see it closer to the stone layers, which is where I believe this myth started - In theory, every mountain or hill biome should have equal rates IF you can avoid cave biomes interfering. However, windswept gravelly hills should be the best bet in avoiding cave biomes. - Don't get discouraged, even at the perfect height and biome, it's still quite rare.
@itzwaluigitime8678 Yes it is a good way! Any time an ore tries to replace tuff it becomes the deepslate variant so you can use tuff blobs to find deepslate emerald ore
OMG tysm for this, i somehow got very lucky and found a windswept gravely hills in around 10 mins, then i branch mined and y -2 and hit a cave, i looked around and found 2 exposed deepslate emerald ores! you earned a sub
I didn't find any strip mining but I was under terrain that generated in 1.16 and then later had deepslate generate underneath later so that might have affected it. I found some caving in windswept hills pretty quickly tho!
@@thedramaticherbalist Ahh nice! Actually me to hehe its the best way I also made a new random world and used X-ray to see how rare this is. This is very rare if you strip mine and it spawns on very random areas across all the Y it can possibly spawn, caving is the only reliable option
Alternatively, if you have (like me) an older world, with chunks that have been generated during the caves and cliffs update, first part, you can quite easily find deepslate emerald ore around Y 0-15 in any mountainous biome ;-)
Interestingly when I play modded the biome mods can sometime generate deepslate and (more often) tuff up on the surface, making deepslate coal weirdly common. Also, it might be funny to see an Any% speedrun for finding deepslate emerald ore
Yeah when developing custom biome datapacks myself I have run into that issue, I think coal uses a different mechanic than the other ores for determining if tuff should turn it into a deepslate ore
Thanks so so much! I am still trying to realize HOW FAST I found 2 ores thanks to your video! Windswept Hills, near ocean, height -2 and it took me probably a few hundred blocks until I got it. My museum with all blocks and items is getting closer to being finished. And I will definitely save that spot for later farming sessions!
Great Video! Literally have a stack of them in my HC world. It took a couple months lol (I also got a stack of every sherd) And I once had an Erosion value below -1 and it had a DeepDark at Y=101.
That's pretty cool, the highest I have found deep dark was 84 There's a rumor that deep dark can only be below 0, so I'm glad that rumor is getting a little less common
I’ve only found it once in all the worlds I’ve explored. I spent way too much time in mountains with deep dark, trying to find one. It was getting really frustrating! I am going back to my long-term world to try one more time.
I came across a deepslate emerald by accident in a cave under my house when trying to find my stuff because I had died in a trial chambers.... got a screenshot but never found it again
Cherry grobe's are bigger so searching under those is better. And since they generate dripstone caves ocassionally, it DOES reduce your range of searching
@@brevortofficial it worked flawlessly after mining a few mountains I am now the proud owner of the only two blocks of deepslate emerald ore on the server (I donated one to the cause of the communal filtered storage system)

Question, is destroying tuff veins between -16 and 8 reliable for finding them efficiently ?

Very interesting, now I can get a decent number of them to flex on my brother whose mind is always blown whenever I see even one

Because of u I finally found deepslate emerald ore suiii I fought of giving up but I continued and finally after 20 hours I finally found it ❤
Wow really good video, informative and consice 👍
This is so oddly specific and yet here I am, watching the entire thing
I found a normal emerald ore surrounded by deepslate
That's really unlucky, that likely happened because the block it tried to replace was stone that just happened to be surrounded by deepslate
Cherry grobe's are bigger so searching under those is better. And since they generate dripstone caves ocassionally, it DOES reduce your range of searching
I found that so long ago and when i found it i couldn't speak
i wanted to get one of every ore thx for showing how to get this ore :)

What about bedrock
Should be the same, the only difference is it's harder to tell what biome you're in while being underground on Bedrock.
