@@rashadwalker8218It's difficult to get film studios to produce black films that don't involve Slavery or Civil Rights. They don't rock wit us like that
This movie is such a vibe and nostalgic. The storyline, tha random 90's black cast , and chemistry had me invested plus the motorcycle scene with Nia in shades was everything 😌💯🤌🙆♀️
Love Jones is one of the best movies I have ever seen! It came out my junior year in high school and I saw it that April during spring break. Loved it then and love it now more. At the time, I had a huge crush on Nina’s friend played by Lisa Nicole Carson. The soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks ever. Dare I say this soundtrack ushered in “neo-soul” music.
After 32 years of living this melanted life, I finally watched this film for the first time about 2 months ago. Boy, I can't believe it eluded me this long. It's amazing! (Also, SN: Lauryn Hill's "Sweetest Thing I've Ever Known" **chef's kiss**)
One of the most artiscally made black films of the 90's era. With a Soundtrack that helped earth the neo-soul sound/artists. Stylistically there hasn't been another Black film in this genre made that matches its dialogue, photography, tone. And thats a good thing!
I just love the aesthetics, the maturity, the looks, the vibes, everything. As teen watching this in the 90s i wanted to be these cool people when i grew up! Lol! The rain, the jazz just makes me feel so cosy and nostalgic. Definitely one of my faves of this golden era of black film❤
What a fire reaction! 💥 You really got the vibe and everything this movie intended. Thanks for taking me back and making me remember how much I loved this movie. ❤
Fun facts: Theodore Witcher the director of this movie did not want Larenz Tate to play Darius Lovehall because he only saw Larenz as O-Dogg from Menace & Society & Jada Pinkett Smith was the first choice to play Nina Moses. Nia Long is playing Katherine Jackson & Larenz Tate is playing Berry Gordy in The Michael Jackson Story that’s coming out next year. Larenz Tate is from Chicago. Darnell played by Khalil Kain will always be Raheem from Juice to me. Can we please get reactions to the following romantic comedies of the 90s: Strictly Business A Thin Line Between Love & Hate How To Be A Player Half Plenty The Best Man How To Be To Be A Player Half Plenty The Best Man
I love this movie better than Thin Line between love and hate and The best man. Both main characters in those movies Darnell and Harper horrible and toxic.
@@derickspencejr.6998 I agree with Darnell & Harper being horrible & toxic. The reason why people labeled Darnell as the victim was because Martin Lawrence was the biggest comedian at the time A Thin Line Between Love & Hate was released. Harper not only messed around with his best friend’s girlfriend & put in it his book, he had the audacity to blame Jordan & guilt proposed to Robin at the weekend reception.
And girl, your commentary is hilarious! 😂 And your appreciation for everything that makes this movie a cool vibe. The poetry, the lounge, the jazz, the dancing, the convos, the artistry (typewriter, film camera, vinyl) the hair and clothes; the cinematography. All. of. these. thingssss!!! Also, the rain and cigarette smoke were paid actors. 😅
31:34 imma speak up for the old-heads that experienced the wonders of wrap foam. Nia doesn’t have a silk press here; she’s a natural girlie now but not back then. She’s rocking the elite combo of relaxer/wrap/bob that few could afford to maintain on this level 😂 I got a lot of comparisons to her way back when because of my skin tone, pointy chin and full mouth… so trust me when I say I know these things 😂
Love this film! So Black, cool & real!! Nia & Larenz are perfect as Nina & Darius! The supporting cast also did their thing. Khalil Kain is so fine, always been a fav of mine on screen. Just 10s across the board.
I love this movie so much. It’s a 10 out of ten. I was thinking a year later, Darius and Wood would be friends again but that never happened. So many beautiful black people in this movie.
Great movie and movie reaction. I haven’t seen this movie in a long time. Reminds me of the days that being in love was actually worthsomething. Those days are long gone.
I have a bittersweet relationship with Love Jones. It's a classic 90s movie about black love and that's great. What I don't like is that the low points hit really hard. You should react to The Photograph with Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield
YOU KNOW WHAT THIS USE TO BE MY FAVORITE MOVIE 🎥🍿 A GREAT BLACK LOVE STORY 💖 I WANTED A LOVE JONES LIFE IN THE 90S LOL 😆😆😆😆😂❤ LOVE UR AWESOME REACTION BOO ❤️ LOOKING FORWARD TO UR NEXT REACTION Queen 👑♥️
As I’m in my 30s, I realize this is not the love story I thought it was when I was teen watching this for the first time. The cinematography and acting is good, but the plot is not giving love. He love bombed her, moved on once he got what he wanted (even though they weren’t exclusive), felt a way about her being with his so-called friend (nasty work on her part), and then ignored her when he got her back where he wanted her. Then, didn’t reach out for a year only to get back together on a whim. It wasn’t love. It was lust and the thrill of the chase.
So basically, many modern relationships. I still enjoy it because many people don’t communicate effectively and it’s more realistic than some other love stories
She said she was moving back in with her ex you expected him not to move on? Then she came back & got with his friend yet he was still nice to her. I think you became bitter as you got older tbh not everyone can relate to that
Can you please react to 2Pac’s movie Above The Rim and umma give you a back story behind the movie who Tupac’s character is so the character Tupac’s character name is Birdie he is playing as a real stream gang dude a gangster name Haitian Jack a real life gangster who is still alive today
"Since you got your degree and you know everything..." 😆😂🤣😂 Friend, I use that line from Precious all the time!
That's my lineeee, yessss... 'Goodnight, black people' ✨
Possibly the best black love story film! Definitely one of my personal favorite romance movies. 😁😊
Black? Just period!
They don't make black films like this anymore

This movie and Jason’s Lyric were my favorite love stories back in the day.
The way you were rooting for Nina and Darius was too cute! It was a great movie

nah im dying, she said "DARNELL ?!" like i did
"you ain't no real lover" is my new favorite line lol. You're adorable!
Not “Take yo ass on to Maya”😂 Girlfriends stans stand up
Darnell played by Khalil Kain will always be Raheem from Juice to me.
😂😂😂😂
I haven’t seen love jones since the early 2000s and it definitely hits harder being older. For the true lovers out there indeed
after u mentioned love jones on the training day video, i've been waiting for this day lmao

Really enjoyed this reaction keep up the good work 😊
For the lovers! One of my favorite movies, even if they annoyed me with how much they didn't talk things through in multiple situations lol
One of the greatest movies out the classic 90s black love vault
The young folk are calling it the year of the yearners.
Best reaction of Love Jones ever!

Your reaction was the best! I love this movie so much. They were both tripping. Just young and dumb I suppose. Smh!
Nice ❤ . And laurenz tates should run for governor
I can't stand Bill Bellamy in movies. He always gets on my nerves.
He seems sweet in real life, but his on screen characters are mad annoying.
