Dang it......I should have watched this first!! I'm installing the OE style Bushwacker.....I just made the mistake of yanking the two plastic screw plugs out. I was wondering why they were so blaming hard to pull out, HAHA. Now, my whole is install is delayed until I go grab a couple of those at my local dealership. Probably 7.00 each LOL...
I have a 3-2 lift and I run a 35x12.50r20 tire. Not sure what the offset of the rims are they were on the truck when I bought it and they don’t make these wheels anymore
Old fred installed these on my 2008 Tundra back in 2010. Removed them in 2015, the paint finish had a permanent line that followed the outline of the flare. Tried to polish it out no luck. Have a new Tundra now I'd never install them again. Nice looking wheels and tires.
I need some custom/ modification advice… I just bought a 2016 Toyota Sequoia Platinum, with 33 BFG’s and a 3” lift…. I’d like to add some bushwhackers, but can’t find any to fit. Any suggestions!
Just pulled my flares after 6mos - beware - they rub and damage the paint. I had to use some rubbing compound to remove the lines, which unfortunately marred the finish a bit, not really noticeable but it's obvious if you look closely ... so I need to figure out what to to fix that. Flares did nothing to prevent splash of gunk/debris ... I live in NW MT and they are pretty liberal with mag chloride on the roads here, so without my splash/mud guards, all that snow/slush crap was getting thrown all over my undercarriage and TRD dual exhaust. So, I just installed some new WeatherTech mud/splash guards and put the flares on Craigslist. I won't go back to pocket flares until one of these companies incorporates mud/splash guards into them. They look nice, but are worthless IMHO. Best suited to mild climates and mostly street driving. Just my $.000002
Thanks for the tips, they don't just help those with Yota's, I just installed them on my F250 and installed Rotor tape under them using your method. They aren't perfect but will accomplish the mission and you really have to be up and close to see the rotor tape isn't a perfect line.
I tried to put these exact ones on my 2019 Tundra SR5 last night and the plastic of on the front brackets broke when I only put a few threads through it. I contacted them this morning about sending me new brackets. Right now I just have the back flares on. I am not a very happy customer right now especially since I spent extra for them to be color matched.
Been watching your videos ever sense I got my tundra, your my favorite tundra owner to watch! Also watched your weight loss video before I even knew you had a tundra haha. You mind telling us where you got thoes fender flares? I'm thinking of getting the same ones
I actually ordered these from a shop in Bristol TN called RPM Offroad. I appreciate you watching the videos. My weight loss video has gotten me a lot of subscribers and changed a lot of lives. I’ve definitely been blessed with that video.
jody omohundro Nice I’m sure they will look awesome. I actually ordered mine already painted. Just made it faster to install. Didn’t have to wait on them to be painted.
Gear Runner I️ run a small body shop, so I just painted them my self. In my case it is saving me some money. I️ also am adding some X-Pel clear protective film to the front edges of the back ones to help with rock chips.
Hey Andy, I had a question about your BW Pocketed Fender Flares. Do you have a problem with the weather stripping coming off the flares? I got one that won’t stay on and it falls down behind the flare. Just wondering what I can do to fix it
Thank"s, For Taking The Time Out And Sharing. It's Super Nice, Could You Please Tell Me What Type Of Rim's And Tire's You Have... And Also What Type Of Exhaust System You Running. Thank You I Greatly Appreciate Your Video.
keoki merseburgh Thank you. I have 20x9 Sota Novakane Deathmetal Black wheels with Nitto Terragrappler G2 tires in 35x12.50r20. The exhaust is a dual Borla.
文Classified文 It’s funny you ask that. I act did a video recently where I review the wear after 1 year. It did leave some pretty deep scratches. I have a product right now that I’m fixing to do a video on that should fix that issue. So stay tuned. Hopefully the video will be up week after next.
Hey bud, I just installed these on my 2016 Tundra. Followed your install. Thanks, it helped a bunch. Only issue I have is the drivers side rear fender flare doesnt sit completely flush on the backside. I just dont want water to get in between. Any solutions for this?
Steven Davis Thank you and you are very welcome. Sorry I don’t have any ideas. Mine sit flush so I didn’t have to come up with a fix for that. Did you push in while tightening the screw. Other than that not sure what would cause this.
@@gearrunner thanks for responding. I tried pushing while tightening, but it didn't help. Thinking maybe the flare is a little warped. I'll have to figure something out. Maybe that double sided tape just in that spot. We'll see. Thanks again.
I'm looking for ideas to make overland modifications to a Toyota Tundra CrewMax TRD Off-Road 4x4. 2010. Millage 150,000. Any suggestions?. We will use it for camping, in desert, stony roads, snow, mountain roads, occasionally a small river (but that is rare). To start I'm thinking of off-road suspension and lights, but which of the ones in the market? I want them good, but not very expensive. If I have to put a rack I would like to think of something I can get out of it, since I can not lift the truck much longer because I need to leave it on a daily basis in low parking.Surely we will not be climbing rocks.
AECVV I know a company called headlight revolution has a lot of led lights and light bar options. Maybe a 3” level if you haven’t already got just a little more clearance. As far as racks I really don’t know there. I’ve never looked at them much other than on here.
Looks good man! I have the exact same truck! I was looking to get some flares and came across your video. Those Bushwackers look nice painted as well. I'm in the process of doing a full chrome delete. Do those decorative screws come off? Would be nice if I could replace them with black hardware...
Kurt Hunter They do rub but they have a piece of rubber that’s in between the flare and the fender. So I’m not sure if it would damage the paint in a few years or not. But if I’m. It mistaken there was a disclaimer in the instructions about not liable for paint issues.
Sean DeLong I know right! If my road wasn’t so busy I would have let him out but he usually wants to venture to close. You have to watch him like a hawk! 😂
Did u ask to have the fender painted to match? I'm confused when ordering my flares. I have same black truck color as u. But when ordering they say either matte black or smooth which 1 do I get...I want it to match
rey210rey I ordered mine from my local 4x4 shop. Not sure what company they ordered them from but it was an option to order them color matched. If you go to Bushwackers wed site it shows you are able to order them color matched also. They have a list of dealers to order from so one of them should have the color match option on their site.
Matte black and smooth is the same thing. Sometimes, customers like to order ones with a very rough texture, much like the Rhino stuff you have in your truck bed, but it’s all from plastic. It is what they usually come as with a special coating that will prevent it from chalking and from fading out in the sun.
The question was probably already asked but with the 35s how much, if any, of a lift did you need? Any rubbing with the width? I have a 2016 TRD Pro with a factory lift (2 inch) and I'd like to slot the 35s in as the OMEs look small for the truck.
Shawn850 I actually have a 3 inch lift on my truck. There was some trimming involved even with that. I can not run any 35 either I have to stick with an all terrain or they will still rub. I want to go to a mud tire next so I will either need a bigger lift or go down to a 33x12.50r20. I will more than likely go down to the 33 size.
Gear Runner I think you might even be able to go to a 34 with a 3" lift. The OME is measured at 275/65/18 on my Pro which works out to 32.1 inch with plenty of room fore and aft of the tire. Not sure about how much, if any, rub there would be on any turns but width would certainly play a factor.
Is there a bushwacker stamp anywhere on the inside of the flares or any way to confirm authenticity? Im asking cause i got a guy trying to sell me a used set in great condition colormatched to my truck already but cant verify if they are actually bushwackers
The one way you can identify if they’re genuine Bushwacker flares, depending on the year of your truck, each flare should have a QC stamp with a part #, date and either a 2 or 3 digit number. I believe the 2015 model year and up, they have a black plastic Bushwacker label sonic-welded to the bottom of each flare.
Victor Salinas Yes they send you a bag with all the hardware you will need to install them. It’s a very easy install once you figure out how the first one goes in.
Highly recommend getting off Amazon some clear double side tape or 8mm paint pro tape and edge out those. I have 2016 and trading mine in for 2019. Took fender flares off and the rubber seal rubbed a line in the paint
Timothy Peterson I really don’t know if you can stop it from happening. I may try to see how hard it is to fix what ever it has done to the paint. I wanted to do the video today but it’s raining.
Gear Runner i took mine to my detail guy he used an oscillator on it.. it helped a tad but he said in order to completely remove because toyota paint is thin he would have to wet sand. Lucky for me the dealership didnt mind and traded as is. I dont want to put lines in my NEW PRO. Someone suggested putting a strip of 3M tape similar to the door edge protection so they ride on that instead of the paint.
Ash Mcfall They are actually screws and you usually have to install everyone yourself. I don’t know how but I got lucky and all mine were already installed.
Gear Runner yeah i agree the accents on your wheels go good with the stainless rivets. My truck is the superwhite and im running all matte black accents and wheels. Im just glad i wont have to mask off the flares just to paint the rivets haha
dunrob13 It really depends on what look your looking for. If you want the tires to set even with the flares the factory tires probably won’t work. If your wanting a wider looking truck these will definitely do that.
First and foremost nice truck! Have you noticed any scratching on the paint where the rubber seal meets? I dont care what anybody says the pocket style flares look badass.
Nice truck good job bro

Nice looking awesome, 👌🏼 I like it
But let me know about the tire spacer what size do you use?
I have a 3-2 lift and I run a 35x12.50r20 tire. Not sure what the offset of the rims are they were on the truck when I bought it and they don’t make these wheels anymore

How to stick the rubber seal? I just got mine and they don’t stay there

Fred Sausage what kind of polish did you use? I’d start with a 1500-grit sandpaper and use “Liquid Ice” polish.
Thank you. The brackets into the plastic holes confused me as well. Appreciate it.
You are very welcome, happy I could help
Who made these flare for Toyota that does not have a double sided tape rubber to main body for protection?
👌👌👌

I need some custom/ modification advice… I just bought a 2016 Toyota Sequoia Platinum, with 33 BFG’s and a 3” lift…. I’d like to add some bushwhackers, but can’t find any to fit. Any suggestions!
Do you know of any mud flaps that will work with Bushwacker pocket style fender flares on a Tacoma?
How much did your tires stick out before the fender flares and did the fender flares cover the whole tire
Did you get your flares already painted? From what site?
I got them from a place that went out of business but I did order them painted to match
Great instructional video.
Thanks .
Louie Thank you
Thanks man..wasn’t sure what to do with those plastic push pins in front well, but now know to screw into them
Mine came with cheap rubber trim with no 3M adhesive, just the push on mold kind..ordered the Bushwacker trim online to replace it though
Looks good, I just put some on my 2015 Ruby Red F150. I like those rims too
Those wheels looking good😊

ЛАЙК ЗА ВИДЕО СУПЕР 👍👍
it looks badass. great install!
Thank you
I really like the look but how do you get them in the color of your truck? My truck is royal blue so black may look off I guess.
craigsclocks When you order them you can order them color matched to your truck 👍
Exelent Thank you how much is thr price for that
When doing front.......turn wheel so you have more room when doing rear screws
Looks good!
P320Apex Flatty Thank you 👍
You should have used double sided 3M tape where the flares touch paint to avoid damage on paint
Looks sweet. I have a 2017 Tundra. All missing is fender flares it’s just they want to much money for plastic. Ehhhhh.
Asaf Farfar I totally agree with that. They are expensive.
Does it fit a 2013 ?
sweetaznboi209 you can get them for a 13 but these are for 14 and up
Thanks bro , I will check it out .
Does anyone know if these promote rust like I hear and if so what can you use to seal them from dirt, water, salt etc..

How much can i expect to pay
Joey Few depends what style you want and if you want a full set. Usually anywhere from $300 & up. If you want them color-matched, I’d say $550+

Kurt Hunter the won’t rub, there’s a thick edge trim that comes enough for all four fenders.

AllAboutVehicles Your welcome. Thanks for watching.
Andy my uncle has Bushwacker Pocket Style Fender flares on his 2018 Ram 1500 there an awesome product they really help for wider tires. Great vid!
AllAboutVehicles Yep they do which is why I bought them. I was getting scratches from throwing up rocks.
That sucks but you have them now and thats the issue you have with wider tires
And are those rims real beadlocks are just for show (looks)
I gave tundra dude 34 a hard time for not installing his own headlights today. Said it was too cold
Sean DeLong 😂😂 To cold! I washed my truck in this weather. Just another day at the office! 😂😂
Tundra dude 34 is a waste of time watching him, he strikes me as a guy how wears gloves to do anything with his hands
tundradude34 is not a mechanic. Can't really do anything,Except talk a lot
What is the thickness of them? Street Image is where I went and asked so a guy asked me what size do I want? I have no idea.
Where you other it?
Thai Lam I’m very sorry but I’m not sure what you are asking.
I wish fender flares came standard on the tundra just like the Tacoma.
Peter Kim Me too. They look better with them in my opinion.
Thanks so much for this explanation. They look awesome. Will definitely do them. On a side note, what size are your rims? And what's the offset?
They are 20x9 I believe and I can’t remember the offset

Shawn850 Thank you I will have my tire guys check that out. I want to stay with a 12.50 width because of the flares.
Is there a bushwacker stamp anywhere on the inside of the flares or any way to confirm authenticity? Im asking cause i got a guy trying to sell me a used set in great condition colormatched to my truck already but cant verify if they are actually bushwackers
Ash Mcfall I will try to look for you tomorrow but I don’t believe there were any markings on mine or at least I didn’t notice if there were.
Where did you get the Pocket Style Flares for your Tundra and how much were they?
Mr W. I ordered them from a local shop. They were around $1,000 painted to match
Did they give you screws to replace the ones you took off from the mud flaps? Just ordered some from svcustoms great price
Victor Salinas Yes they send you a bag with all the hardware you will need to install them. It’s a very easy install once you figure out how the first one goes in.
Gear Runner great! Thanks for the response. And nice truck 🤘🏼
Victor Salinas Thank you and good luck with the install. I’m sure it will turn out great.
Fantastic job and explanation, really appreciate it. What do you think of the other units eBay sell ? Know anyone who tried them or have you ?
Looks great! Nice install. Thought about these on the Rebel.
ThrobbNation It was a very easy install. I bet they would have looked good on the Rebel.
whats your tire size?
35x12.50.. sorry - got it!
Highly recommend getting off Amazon some clear double side tape or 8mm paint pro tape and edge out those. I have 2016 and trading mine in for 2019. Took fender flares off and the rubber seal rubbed a line in the paint
Used some scratch compound and oscillator but it only masked the rub line. Only 50000 miles on them.
Timothy Peterson I’m actually fixing to do a video on what it does to your paint. 👍
Gear Runner does it have anything to do with a remedy to keep it from happening
Timothy Peterson I really don’t know if you can stop it from happening. I may try to see how hard it is to fix what ever it has done to the paint. I wanted to do the video today but it’s raining.
Gear Runner i took mine to my detail guy he used an oscillator on it.. it helped a tad but he said in order to completely remove because toyota paint is thin he would have to wet sand. Someone suggested putting a strip of 3M tape similar to the door edge protection so they ride on that instead of the paint.
Did your fender flairs come already painted gloss black or did you have it done?
Stinger 45 I actually ordered mine already painted to match my truck.
I honestly think you’re better off painting them yourself if you’re an automotive painter and save yourself some dough.
Can the rivets be removed? Looking at this same set but want to paint the rivets black
Ash Mcfall They are actually screws and you usually have to install everyone yourself. I don’t know how but I got lucky and all mine were already installed.
Gear Runner awesome then ill just paint them then install. Thanks
Ash Mcfall I’ve seen them painted they look good. Where my wheels have polished aluminum in them I left mine stainless.
Gear Runner yeah i agree the accents on your wheels go good with the stainless rivets. My truck is the superwhite and im running all matte black accents and wheels. Im just glad i wont have to mask off the flares just to paint the rivets haha
Ash Mcfall That is a good part about them not coming in. The bad part is that they don’t come in. That’s a lot of bolts. Lol
I have nice factory rims that came on truck would these flares look ok, or must you have oversized tires. I like my crewmax.
dunrob13 It really depends on what look your looking for. If you want the tires to set even with the flares the factory tires probably won’t work. If your wanting a wider looking truck these will definitely do that.
Gear Runner how far out do they go? 1-2 inches?
