You clearly don’t watch Cavaliers games. We scored 100 or more points in only 4 out of 12 playoff games this year. Only once last year. In the last four seasons, two which we had Donovan Mitchell, the highest rank we could get in PPG scoring was 20th. He’s a great dude and a really good defensive minded head coach (though his mindset of defend the paint at all costs ended up killing us in defending the 3 point line), but his lack of improvement as an offensive head coach is what cost him his job. Any person who follows the Cavs closely knew this was the likely outcome.

The national media ignored the Cavaliers all season. All year the media has spread rumours Mitchell was going to leave Cleveland and go to knicks or lakers. The NBA need to get rid of the homers on these shows and get analysts who can actually articulate why these coaches get fired. If you watched the Cavs you could see JB was lacking as a coach. He should be fired for just playing George Niag game after game,. Niag would play substantial minutes, throw up bricks, foul and get cooked by everyone he guarded. Enough is enough. Garland dribbling the ball in circles and then turning it over. it was a S show many nights.

@chez3869 Jared Allen didn't play 5 of those games and they went 7 because they struggled to score in the halfcourt because their offense was EASY to gameplan against because it's so basic. And that is the coaches fault, the players don't draw up the plays. The players don't decide to run a middle pick & roll with two non- shooters taking up space on the strong side of the court. That's on the coach. The coach and his staff are supposed to develop Evan Mobley; they didn't. They're supposed to develop Okoro. They didn't. Not to mention holding player accountable and getting the best out of them and lastly his play calling was TERRIBLE. So many times with the game on the line after a timeout his play was Garland driving to the rim and 90% of the time getting blocked… even tho he had 2 7 footers in the game (Mobley and Allen). Reasons why Bickerstaff was fired:
    1) Mitchell and some other players lacked confidence in him as the coach going forward.
    2) This was the 3rd straight season that the Cavs fell off after the All-Star break.
    3) The front office didn't think he was doing enough to convince Mitchell to stay (despite Mitchell stating that he is happy in Cleveland).
    4) Tanking the last game of the regular season, which reportedly annoyed the players.
    According to Cavs fans:
    5) His schemes, adjustments, and rotations were all horrible.
    6) Garland and Mobley have not developed that well under him.
These are the reasons that I've seen given, not my own.

Donovan is a great guy. Only way he would want jb replaced is if he felt there was no other way to improve until they had a different head coach. If Mitchel resigns in cleveland, the fans will go nuts and support him to a new level he hasn't seen. If he played until he was 40 he could break all the lebron james records. He's that skilled. 22k points is not out of reach because donovan can shoot the 3 late in his career. He might have 12-13 more seasons in him. He is a weight room junky like lebron

Getting to the playoffs each year isn't enough. That was 90's mentality. In todays game, coaches are under more pressure to develop their players. The NBA is still a superstar driven league. If Donovan hinted at staying with the Cavs, if JB is gone. Then bye JB.

When you loose your locker room as coach it basically over. You have player questioning you and your strategy or lack there of you are going to be on the hot seat. The cavs tanked to get the 4th seed and STILL WENT 7 GAMES! No other top 5 team went 7 games in the 1st round. He got out coached. Its the playoffs why are you playing only a 7-8 man rotation? Why is Okoro playing so many minutes and he is being effective? There's a list of things honestly Altman should be on the hot seat too!
