The difference is one of those guys turned the worst team in the league into a Dynasty with his greatness. The other had to leave to learn how to win, but then came back to that not good team and put them over the top. Tatum has been on a top 3 team in the East every single year since he was a rookie and has nothing to show for it. They have massively underperformed expectations almost every year. That's why he gets so much flak, because the odds have been stacked in his favour and he still hasn't made the most of it yet. I think I just gained some serious respect for Austin Rivers as an NBA Analyst from this video. I had my doubts the first time I seen him just like any other actual player but man FINALLY someone said what had been needed to be said. Once a team starts getting good all you hear from ESPN is analysts saying “oh they need to go get a star, what super star can they go get?” WHY?!?! The knicks have great talent and were banged up and injured. They stay healthy they are going to be a force next year. They are all starting to gel and click right now. Why risk messing that up? The other thing with the knicks is that they finally have a humble star. They cycled through all the prima donna's and that just isn't the vibe the Knick fans want. I have my own stresses and complaints with his play at times, but the slander has got to stop. I realize that commentators dont actually watch basketball, so players who do anything other than score are difficult for them to appreciate, and they get REAL mad when someone they think is supposed to score 35 a night doesnt, but Tatum has been the single most important player in every one of these series, in every game. It's like, if you watch the games, OR you look at advanced stats, he's obviously been incredible - it's basically only if you just watch brief highlights of superstars and comparing scoring that you'd think 'this guy is underperforming'. Last series, he led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, and steals. Something only Lebron in the '16 playoffs has done in modern basketball history. Also could (and IMO, should) trade up to draft an NBA ready big to play some minutes up front (Yves Missi, anyone?). Resign Hartenstein as the backup center or use him as the starter with a Sabonis/Sengun/Jackson as the starting 4. and then the extra 10-15 min needed can be filled by a Sims/Achiuwa/new draft pick Etc...

I think I just gained some serious respect for Austin Rivers as an NBA Analyst from this video. I had my doubts the first time I seen him just like any other actual player but man FINALLY someone said what had been needed to be said. Once a team starts getting good all you hear from ESPN is analysts saying “oh they need to go get a star, what super star can they go get?” WHY?!?! The knicks have great talent and were banged up and injured. They stay healthy they are going to be a force next year. They are all starting to gel and click right now. Why risk messing that up? They just had some misfortunes that’s all. I hope AR retires now and does this full time! If Jason Tatum doesn't continue to improve his skills, he's a Top 10 guy in the League. In my opinion, he has every important skill required for consistent success at the highest levels. If he finds the killer-instinct or Mamba-Mentality or whatever you wanna call it, he's a Top 3 guy in the League. I have my own stresses and complaints with his play at times, but the slander has got to stop. I realize that commentators dont actually watch basketball, so players who do anything other than score are difficult for them to appreciate, and they get REAL mad when someone they think is supposed to score 35 a night doesnt, but Tatum has been the single most important player in every one of these series, in every game. It's like, if you watch the games, OR you look at advanced stats, he's obviously been incredible - it's basically only if you just watch brief highlights of superstars and comparing scoring that you'd think 'this guy is underperforming'.
Last series, he led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, and steals. Something only Lebron in the '16 playoffs has done in modern basketball history. I hope one of these dopes turns on a tv sometime this series.
