Make him read Tokyo Ghoul, Berserk, Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man, Goodnight Punpun or make him watch Steins;Gate, Jujutsu Kaisen (Season 2 will crush his soul and you might never see him again after that), Eighty-Six, Mob Psycho 100 (it will make him cry but it won’t make him sad), Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, A Silent Voice, Re:Zero, Bunny Girl Senpai, Your Lie in April, Summertime Render, Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Chainsaw Man.
A controversial idea, but the way I usually got my depression out was through God. He said I could give all my pain away to him, so I did it. And I didn’t have to worry about the whole religious uptight way of thinking, because that’s not who he is. I used to cry myself to sleep at night from existentialism/philosophy/moral construct and wondering if I was going to have to take meds all the time (ffffuck you attack on titan and Eva, ily but why would you do this to me). Now? I go to sleep happy, laughing at myself, knowing I’ve had an encounter through the most stupidest thing ever. If you’re open to it, I’d suggest just searching online (unless you want a hard copy which is nice too) the passion translation bible. Start with John and Proverbs, one is with love, the other explains it. And if you’re looking for a church, you can look up OnelifeOK, you don’t have to go in person as they have their worship service, and the service bit itself online. It’s a bit lengthy but totally worth it if you’re looking through the right perspective. Anyways, have a nice day, just thought I’d share.
I still love the fact that they made 7 films explaining how they shouldn’t use the series as an escape of reality. And actually touch grass. (For those that wish Asuka, Rei and Misato we’re real and fornicational.) But apart from that, a really good series! Neon Genesis Evangelion, a classic!
