I watch this cause I've been to these places and I miss Cairns so much. I'm finishing a qualification in Melbourne but once it's done and I can work and save I'm taking myself to Cairns ❤
Hi, wonderful video of Cairns here in tropical North Queensland. Last went to Cairns in April, 2001 during school holidays whilst in high school where visited PNG families living in Cairns in Redlynch.
There really is so much to do around here 😍 All of the options for outdoor activities are impressive. Some of the spots I would want to see are the Fairy Falls, train through the rainforest and the Devil's pools 😁
It's a huge tourist hub in Queensland and still more you can do that I haven't mentioned here. I like the train ride but think the gondola is a better experience...get to see so much more. But personally I like doing them both...lol. You guys would love all the swimming spots... whole truckload in this area
Cairns seems like the place to be in Australia! There is so much for everyone to do! For us, I think Fairy Falls and the zip line park would be must dos. Although Goliath would scare me quite a bit 😮😊
Definitely the place to be and one of the biggest tourist hubs in Australia.... so many visits up there, over the years to see a friend from school and she works for Skyrail that I featured. Goliath just seemed to sit there but I wasn't there for long taking photos...lol. I love all the natural waterfalls and places to swim, but way too cold this trip... need more summer heat...lol
This is perfect. Felt like i was watching a program on the telle. I really have to figure out what to do on my short 3 night trip to Cairns soon. I want to see things I can't see anywhere else but I'm ballin on a budget. May I ask what reef experience you recommend if I am unsure I'll be confident or energetic enough to snorkel. I don't deal with heat and humidity well so I'm a bit stuck on recognising my abilities and wanting to enjoy my adventures. I already feel like I'd be bored and trapped on the train & sky rail but the point is to take in your surroundings. I'm scared the crocodiles with kill me & mozzys eat me alive and ruin my life. Will have to travel with antihistamines & steroid cream so the tropical mozzys don't ruin my holiday. if I hire a car it wouldn't be a 4wd. Does that make having a car pointless to get around in if going to Daintree and the likes or do you main tourist spots have easy access. I saw some dirt roads. Thanks again for this and I should go watch the other videos now
Hi there and thanks very much for your comment. So glad you liked the video and found it useful. 😁 If you on a budget and want to see the reef, then go to green island or Fitzroy island. Both are closer, cheaper and enter the reef portions straight from the beach... check out my green island video. The outer reef tours are dearer and you'll be snorkeling in 20 metre deep waters... not something a novice snorkeller will want. If you want to go to kuranda then skyrail will be better than the train. 2hrs train compared to 45 minutes on skyrail and you can stop twice along the way. As for daintree, are you travelling solo? Daintree roads are mostly sealed and ok for a rental car, but the long windy roads I would hesitate on your own. Tours are available and easy day trip from cairns...plus helps with the ferry crossing. The croc tours are perfectly safe but you don't have to do them... also be cautious with beaches and rivers. I have a blog link in the video description to help with hotel/tour bookings or more info... otherwise feel free to ask 👍👍
@@HrdKandii I actually went to green island... I have a daintree one as well as kuranda...just to give you more of an overview than this summary video 👍👍. Port Douglas is still a nice day trip too
It seems so touristy now. No thanks. I was there 20 years ago. Much nicer back then. I hate tours. All these awful tour groups destroy the ambience of any rainforest hike or waterfall swim.
Your probably right, I see some of the tour groups these days packed in like sardines and not really my favourite either. There are ways around it but comes down to budget sometimes. Most of my touring around in this video was done on our own and limits crowds in some ways, but not always avoidable.
Thanks for watching today's video on the best thing to do in Cairns
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask 👍😁
Thank you my partner and i are travelling to cairns in a trip soon and this video was a great introduction to some amazing places
You very welcome and glad it's going to help you out 👍👍
Thanks for watching

I love the crystal cascades it’s really cold which is good because it is so hot here even in winter!
I have been a few times and so refreshing in the heat of summer. But too cold for this visit...lol.

The train was lots of fun, I actually made a more in depth video on the entire day for that one... felt it deserved a whole video!

Thanks guys 👍😁
The “ restaurants that you were showing to be in Palm Cove” are actually in Trinity beach
