I live in Italy and I swear by this app. I'm a college student so sometimes on a tight budget and this app makes me save a lot of money, the quantity of food is so huge that I tend to freeze the rest for the days to come.
Yep, my mother sells boxes sometimes when they have many leftovers and they get sold almost immediately I've been told the price is set so it always costs pretty much the same but the restaurant / shop owner is free to choose how much stuff to put in it

@@bonstermonster78nonstop19 no it’s not it’s specifically for anyone to take. It’s just like this where it’s food from restaurants, bakeries, and local farms that were in surplus
I'm a tad late here, but unfortunately many places with too good to go also used to have services that gave food away for free, to those homeless or in need. This market 'solution' works well in some places, but has also cut out food and support for the homeless in other places.
I used to work in a college cafeteria and at the end of the day there would be all this food that had to be discarded and remade the next day. The higher ups DEMANDED that all this food be thrown straight in the garbage but never gave a good reason. My boss thought that was absurd and would just let us take whatever we wanted or offer it to random kids that were walking past. As a college kid a random meal is basically a blessing.
I think for a lot of establishments, a concern is if someone were to get sick after eating the food and went back there to claim some sort of compensation. Usually by the time there’s leftover food it means that it’s very late in the day/the place has closed for the day already, which then means that the food is probably no longer as fresh as before. But personally I do find it very wasteful when I see all the food being thrown away :( And I also buy discounted sushi in the evening once in a while haha.
I worked at a small hospital and the night kitchen worker would pack up leftovers and give them to night shift people and when management found out they transferred her to day shift and acted like she was stealing the food that was going to be thrown in the trash anyway.
Our university literally has their own food pantry, I actually had classes with some students who wouldn't eat for a day or two because they couldn't afford it
Not to rain on anyone's parade but this app is cute if you want to help small bakeries and restaurants earn a bit more while you try discounted goods. Basically win win. But you're not helping food waste all that much with it. Most of the food waste comes from food production before it even reaches the stove/oven. Preparing food generates more waste than excess of it (since restaurants generally avoid having too much because it generates loss of profit through increased cost) Buffets are the absolute worst for food waste.
@@astronoteek1512 Grocery stores have the same problem buffets do. In order to be competitive they need large excess of food, and its usually premlade food which, again, produces majority of waste while its prepared.

I’m from Australia and we have kinda something like this called Ozharvest. It was founded by Ronni Kahn and Ozharvest trucks go around to supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, hotels, retailers, airports, etc and they collect wasted fruits/veggies, meats, cooked meals, pre packed items, dried foods, baked sweets, dairy, eggs and drinks. Once they have collected them they deliver the foods to charities to help people in need of fresh food. According to a 2018 post made by Ozharvest they repurposed and rescued 180 tones of food a week from 3,000 food donors, then they delivered it directly to 1,300 charity agencies.
I didn’t want to write a whole short story so I am commenting on my first post anyways, when Ronni (the founder of Ozharvest) was younger she wasted tones of food. When she got older she lost her father after a car accident. Then when she got even older she started to host tones of parties and noticed how much food waste there was after. In 2004 she started up Ozharvest and it is still going today all over Australia.

Reduce food waste,
increase blood sugar,
Decrease number of lower extremities
It's not like she's eating this in all one sitting. And having bread or anything sweet once in a while isn't going to hurt her. She clearly eats a balanced diet and is a healthy person
i know you’re just looking for new content to post and didn’t mean any harm but if you’re not struggling with money, please don’t buy those bags… as a student who’s struggling to buy food / eat three meals daily, it hurts to see youtubers/ wealthy people buy from too good to go because what you bought could have been bought by someone in need instead 😭
Respectfully you don't know her financial situation. secondly just because others might not have more money than her even though you have no idea how much she makes . She can do anything she wants. There's plenty of these bags from restaurants to go around
@@brooke9225 she literally works in a hospital + have 330k subscribers here. the youtube money she makes is definitely more than enough just by itself? how selfish you are 💀
@@sempiternels I'm not being selfish. You're being incredibly rude. If she wants to buy a cheap bag of food . She's entitled to.
@@brooke9225 rude because I’m stating facts?? you’re being ridiculous 💀 but yeah letting wealthy people benefit from students/low income people apps sure is the best thing ever lmfao
@@sempiternels it's not her fault others are poor. Maybe people in those situations should grow a pair and learn to get out of poverty on their own
i love this app! there's this really nice pastry shop/bakery near where i live but the food is a bit expensive (think £4-5 per little pastry, idk if this is cheap though i have no sense of money 😭😭) but i got a bag of around 6 or 7 cakes and things for about £5 and they were still pretty good :D
Wow. Thanks never heard of this. I just downloaded hopefully yummy 😋 success.🇨🇦
In love with the way she said T’gödt’go
Just downloaded the app and a moderate selection of places in my area. A lot of coffee shops, a Mexican restaurant, and a healthy meal prep place. I'll be keeping my eyes open for the deals. Thanks for the recommendation!
I downloaded app but Kee forgetting to pick up my food. Lol. This is a reminder. Thanks
I use it very often in Norwegian supermarkets. It really depends on your luck, but it's always good to at least try to reduce food waste ❤️
Never heard of this until today. Thank you for sharing!
They don’t have any stores in my area 😢. Really hoping they expand to my area soon! This is such a great concept
I literally get my weekly groceries with it!! For someone who barely has any cooking ideas its rlly helpful and cost saving and i like the surprise
i love TGTG and you can get some really nice meals out of costa/m&s plus a lot of independent cafe's take part as well!
Just downloaded and placed an order for a cupcake store in my town. I can't wait!!
Most supermarkets in the Netherlands participate in TGTG! Most have surprise bags, which can contain anything, vegetarian bags, which are self-explanatory, and bread bags, which contain, you guessed it, bread. They're a great way to save money, explore new produce, and save food!
We’ve been loving this for a bagel place near by! It’s so easy and we don’t have to pay full price for bagels!
Everything looks so delicious 😋 😍
I had never heard of this app. I just signed up and was pleasantly surprised that the choices range from 3 Italian restaurants, 1 Indian, 1 vegetarian and 2 bakeries, within walking distance from my place. More choices if I feel like driving. I will be using this app soon. Thanks for doing this video.
I'm saving this when the quarter starts up again, this sounds promising!!
This is amazing!!!!!! Love this idea.
i have not actually seen this before if i had more money on a card and a more readily available card to make purchases on i would definitely do this
I’m from Australia and we have kinda something like this called Ozharvest.
Youre a nutritionist!!! And you mentioned TGTG!!!!! Omg ❤😂🎉❤❤❤❤ I've been using them for 2 yrs now, so amazing what it offers and in such good condition! Tyty
Fun fact, it was started in denmark in 2016, it’s quite a few european countries. Glad to see it finally reaching america 🤗
We need more like this snd minimize food waste
Love it, sadly my German town is too small for it :( we got outdoor fridges in some places tho where people can put food they don’t want/need tho
I’m canada there are apps that supermarkets put almost expired food on there. You can choose and it’s definitely helps
Apps like this are being more and more popular and I’m so happy about it.
Sometimes if I have time before work I’ll pick up a box of assorted donuts from Tim’s for 6$ off Too Good To Go. 12 donuts for 6$, all because they only sell baked goods the DAY they were made
Thanks Kylie! I downloaded it and look forward to trying some great meals/pastries❤
Everything looks good Kylie 😋🍪
Yeah I use it in belgium and it's amazing if you're on a tight budget . If you buy from grocery stores it really helps to get some variety .
AMAZING!! Wish we had this in my country
Wow!!! I immediately went to this app (never heard of this before). So many options at a discount. Thanks for the tip!!!
I wish my town had more of these!
Me and my mum love this app sm. We acc get so sad when we miss the option to buy smthing 😭😭
This is so great! Fun way to try new food and limits food waste! Please try your best never waste food and help the environment! Xx
i LOVE this idea!! i work at a small restaurant so we usually take stuff home or give it out for free but i know a lot of companies don't wanna do that so this is a good option
This got me to look whether it was available in my area and it was, so thank you! Haven't been so lucky with my magic boxes yet but I do get to try out other foods.
