Well presented how to do video. I took the o/s lamp out to change the fog bulb then managed to drop the spring locking bolt down in the cavity. I resolved the problem with a long coach bolt fitted with a fiber washer, steel washer, spring washer and then a nut nearest the bolt head. Lamp fitted, merely screwed in the coach bolt as you would the plastic one into the lamp rear from the inside, then lightly tightened the nut onto the washers. One tip if I may. Don't put the lamp on the garage floor resting on the plastic lens, it'll get scratched.
If you accidentally drop the bolt into the cavity it can be retrieved with a magnetic flexible tool which are cheap to buy on Amazon. A handy tool for the garage.

I didn’t know the Polo only has one reverse light and I was trying to replace the right fog light thinking it was a reverse light! 🙈
