Bro which engine is best for Honda xblade bs6.Company recommended grade is 5w30 or 10w30 Fully synthetic oil.But Honda's genuine oil is not that much good.Suggest me a good oil pls.
Do know motul CNG power plus, its for Rickshaw but gives awesome performance in bikes. The oil cheap and i wonder why they sell bikes oil so costly
Motul 7100 is definitely the better oil. It is preferred globally by riders of big CC, high mileage motorcycles. Oil change every 6000km and filter every 18000km, no drama. Lots of indian riders don't seem to understand that when single cylinder bikes are ridden too hard, they will burn oil and start to lose power. Its inevitable due to design of a single SOHC layout. 150cc - 200cc bikes are meant to be kept at 110Km/h at the max for longevity. Oil viscosity choices are based on ambient temperature of the country and India is very hot so 10W-40 might not be right. 15W-50 would be more appropriate. Oil brand doesn't matter for small CC as long as they are regularly changed and original products. The bike doesn't require high end products because they are not designed for it, logic is same as why one wouldn't pump high octane fuel in a small CC. It simply can't make use of the benefits, therefore a waste of money.

I've recently filled my engine with Castrol Power1 Ultimate after doing 6000 km with Shell Adv Ultra (wanted to change since 4500km, was busy) on my Unicorn 160 BS IV (27000 km).
Observations:
1. A very significant reduction in vibration (maybe because it has been 6000 with old oil).
2. Extracted 52 km/L in city+highway for a few days. (since then I'm running late for my work, 45 km/L)
3. As of now the vibration comes after 4500 rpm, 1000 km done.
4. Easy top speed 112 kmph, was ~102 kmph before the change.
I already had a motul 7100 10w40 bottle in stock still bought this Castrol at Rs. 480 (flipkart) in sale just to try. Will change it after 4000 km.
Brother I am also using shell advance ultra on my unicorn bs6 can I go for Castrol power 1 ultimate 10w 40 (or) stay with shell advance ultra 10w40

I usually suggest to try all the best available oils in rotation so that the engine metal isn't exposed to same kind of additive for it's whole life.

I choosed the castrol power 1 ultimate over the castrol active which i always used in my splendor pro 2016 since i bought it just to see how it responds to synthetic oil...The changes i felt are 1. Earlier on cold starts it didnt respond to one self.. i had to use the kick starter now it starts with one touch cold starts have become much more easier.. 2.The gear shifts have become much more smoother gear shifts like knife on butter. 3 Now it responds well to hard accelerations which earlier it didnt. These are the changes that i felt... No drastic changes in fuel economy and vibrations coz the engine is same above 50-60 it vibrates in the same way cos 97cc torquey motor 😀. It is worth the price i paid. Will definitely go for it again.

Motul is the market leader now day's.
Using since last two half year in P220.
All things are good instead it required topup frequently.

everytime i used motul 7100, i had engine oil leak issue, and it also burned. level of oil would drop if I ride at high speed on highway, but no such problem with castrol. i found castrol smoother for my gixxer 150 sf
I got only 700 ml recent oil change. Thinking better to switch to castrol

Just one query... TVS has recommended 10W30 for both 200 4V and 160 4V as well. So will it be ok to upgrade the oil? As 10w40 will be more viscous comparatively

I used both Castrol and motul but now i prefer Castrol more , because its overall better than motul. MOTUL IS smoother but Castrol gives me better throttle response and also better fuel mileage. I am never going to shift back to motul because Castrol is giving me better performance

I have been using power1 ultimate on my Apache 160 4V for 2500KMs. Below are my findings
1. Gear shifts are not smooth
2. Too much heating issue in traffic conditions
3. Fuel efficiency dropped significantly(With Castrol 10W 30 I was getting 45-50 kmpl but with power1 Ultimate I can get 41-44 max).

Surprisingly I had totally opposite experience with both oil at 10w 50 grade might be due to grade difference you are using.
Don't get me wrong I trust you to core but I experiance Castrol is not able to handle high RPM on my dominar and just switched to 7100 and it seems to do a better job at higher RPM.
At Normal riding I really didn't feel any difference in both oil and I had to change Castrol at 2200 km
I also felt the same when using 10w50 power 1 ultimate in my r15.. bike feels like it's struggling in the higher revs and also it is heating up in stop go traffic

I also tried ultimate 20w50 in my ns200..but this oil burned very fast .i dont know the reason but i think Castrol ultimate is not for the higher compration ratio engine ...i prefer veedol Full synthetic 10w50 it cost 700rs per liter and bottle comes with discount coupon of minimum 50r and the draining interval is 3500 km for veedol synthetic oil...you can try it for dominar
Yes, absolutely agree with you. I switched to Motul 7100 for my Dominar 250 from Bajaj genuine oil which I believe is Total brand. After riding 100kms+ to get the oil set, I was surprised how the oil performed better cruising above 75kmph was buttery smooth and the engine was eager to push more. I personally feel Motul performs better at mid to high rpm range. At low rpm, it felt the same as Bajaj ones but only thing gear shifts are soft.

I been using the castrol power 1 ultra for arrount 2000 km's, l also felt the gear shift was slightly hard but overall it delivers decent performance and more cheaper in terms of pricing, I used multiple brands of oils and in my personal experience liquimoly was the best

When I changed it after 5000 kms, Engine oil was not that dirty as of other brands. But availability and Genuinity of Shell is an issue. So I switched to Motul

I am a regular user of Motul 7100 on my BS3 NS200 from 2014 itself. It always gave me a smoother ride on highways. Be careful with the exact amount of oil required as extra oil will be leaked.

I have a question for my RR310:
Today, my fuel level went below reserve (which is around 2.5 litres) and I kept riding until the range dropped from 71 kms to 50 kms. Now I filled 1 litre of petrol. But I noticed that the range was still at 50 kms and the last fuel indicator kept blinking. Even after riding for 5 kms, the fuel level indicator was still blinking (last one out of 10) and the range continued to drop from 50 to about 45 now.
This is what I believe is happening:
The sensor doesn't detect the actual fuel level once it drops below the reserve mark. The system only calculates the range based on the initial estimate when the fuel level dropped below 2.5 litres. Unless we top up the fuel above the reserve level, when the range would be reset, the system doesn't see any fuel added to the system, and as a result reports a wrong range.
Let me know if you agree with my explanation.
I think in India as the temperatures are high as in it is hot is the re any harm in usin 15W 50 oil in a bike recommended to use 10W 30?? because of the higher temperatures most times I feel the bike feels tired after 2 hrs of running which would not happen in a 10W50 or 15W50.
If your bike uses 10w30 you can't go higher than 10w40 in most of the cases

My 2 cents. Castrol made my pulsar200ns bs4 run a little rough after 2.5k or 3k. Motul lasts about 6k. Don't see a drop in oil level with both. Rest response mileage stayed the same.

I have used motul previously on my pulsar 150cc and as said I found massive smoothness in gear shift.
For dominar 400 which one would be better when compared to both motul and castrol if fuel efficiency is not a concern. I want smoother gear shift coz it becomes annoying if we do 600 to 700 km ride.
Please suggest people who used both. My dominar is bs6 variant.
Also when is it adviceable to change engine oil in dominar. Someone said 2500 km and I feel it's overkill coz Bajaj recommend every 10k km. I am not sure on this change coz my bike is new.
Hi post the first service for bs6 you need to top up at 5000kms and replace every 10,000kms. But do these process 500kms advance which is a good practice for a health engine.
