- I was foolishly excited for the Special Ops in the new Modern Warfare, so to prove it, I went back to the classic beloved original 2009 CoD MW2 to earn 3 stars in every single veteran spec ops mission. It starts out easy, but soon proved to be no simple task.

Other 2021 additions: yes, the MW2019 premise of the video aged poorly. Yes, I said Barrett wrong. Apparently there are crickets in the background at the end, sorry. My cousin, who really was more like a brother to me died a couple years ago, and I use to play spec ops all the time. My favorite memory with him is getting 3 stars on the snow/stealth map using only knives. BEASTMODE.

I just hid in the left shack with the Thunper, lined up the sight so it would 1 shot headshot any juggernauts that came around the corner. It surely wouldn't get any world record times, but it was a great strat the even blew my mind.

I just realized you finally did the MW3 Spec Ops. So I'm coming back and rewatching them in order. But man, I remember 11-Year old me playing MW2 Spec Ops and getting so mad at some of the missions. Especially since I loved getting achievements. So trying to do 3-Stars on missions like Favela and so on were the worst things.
The real achievement is how he managed to keep calm all the way through to the end

Problem:MW3's spec ops has survival and you can't complete MW3's Spec ops without doing up to 14 rounds of survival on each map (even DLC!)

At 8:05 when he talks about that muscle memory of killing the dog I actually laughed. In my mind when it jumped on him all i thought was SPAM THE STICK
In MW3 they changed it so that you could spam it, in MW2 its actually precise timing to kill them, i believe in MW1 it was the same as 2

I loved MW3 spec ops, but mission where you have to climb on top of the New York Stock Exchange and defend a tower was just obnoxious on Veteran.

Everyone seems to only be excited for multiplayer but I’m just pumped for campaign and spec ops
Infinity ward campaigns are so good, people claim the whole campaign puts "no russian" to shame in terms of edgyness so I'm very pumped
Honestly the only reason I'm excited is for campaign and spec ops lol. I don't have that much interest in MP
I'm happy for all modes. I haven't felt that feeling since MW3. Hopefully they add a survival/safeguard mode into the game too.

The acog def can be nostalgic especially since they've all but been completely fazed out in the military and with civilian shooters for better LPVOs. But still so cool trijicon acog and the elcan specter so darn cool.

My friend who had never played call of duty came round to my house and we played through every one of these missions at first he could barely walk and aim at the same time but by the end he was an elite operative.

Ahh the memories. Whenever I wonder why I’m so nostalgic about these games I realize it’s partially because it was just an awesome time in my life for gaming with the buds…. And partially because these games are still cool and impressive today. Back then when they were new and I hadn’t ever had anything like it before it was mind blowing. As someone who is very much into guns and gear now I can say with some serious confidence that the MW games were a large influence in my interest in guns today. I still lust after guns that were in these games that are either insanely expensive, extremely rare, insanely expensive and extremely rare, or just flat out unobtainable. My list of guns that I’d love to collect and own would look a lot like the weapons selection from the MW series.
