Dude reviewed a motherboard from future Z7090 🤣 but good review anyway 😉👍🏻
is this the new clickbait? im trying to see if this is a bad board and sounded like he liked the card pretty well?
im so lost, is the board bad? he seems to imply its okay..
great video ! I went with the GB Elite Ax in Dec 22 for my build, just missed the MSI Z790 Tomahawk before it sold out for months
should i go for the msi? paired with msi gpu 4070 gaming x trio? or gigabyte mobo + gpu?
@@Biatc MSI Tomahawk>Aorus Elite Ax...I'm am totally happy with my Gigabyte Elite AX btw, I've OC'd my ram and CPU, have the 13600k, temps are good, even running a 1080p monitor off the iGPU, got a 7900xtx for my main monitor...the GB mobo is a solid board
That's all so wonderful Tech... just...
To remove the M.2 Heatsink (in Case I want to add additional M.2s) I had to remove the GPU and to remove the GPU I have to remove the CPU Cooler
or use a Screwdriver to open the GPU Security Latch...
Perfect for any Component that might get hit if I slip with that thing xD
If just someone would think about the Consumer Experience D:
I mean, I could buy a Water Cooler and tell another Horrible Story next time about that thing :D
How often do you add M.2 drives? Every day? Or once in... ages?
@@Morpheus-pt3wq Well ^^ Once was enough, but I would have to repeat that procedure if I want to add a second one or the one I installed fails. ATM there are no plans to do any of that :D
my experience with the Asus is that it's cheap and poorly made, so i agree with this review. it's also VERY unstable with 14th Gen processors.. and even has lots of Kernel errors. this is after 5 BIOS updates, and one of those was JUST to run a 14th Gen processor, four months after the MB was released, Sorry Asus, but you need to do better. maybe time to get back to Gigabyte...
I have a feeling something is wrong with your board or cpu needs to be reseated. I personally use gigabyte z790 AERO G. My copy has an issue with Bluetooth. QC is poor across all brands these days. 🤷
I've had the PRIME Z790M-PLUS D4 a year now with a i7-13700 and 4*16Gb c16 3600mt/s memory and it's been fantastic. No problems, plenty of M2 slots, plenty of USB and 4 raid sata HDD's for big storage.
😲 The video title is confusing: Is the Gigabyte board good or bad ? Why creating a title like that ? Thanks.
I think you acknowledge this at the end of the video, but if a person needs something for mATX or ITX form, and they still want a Z series board for OC then what other options are there really out there right now other than the ASUS Z790M ?

@@comedyzone where can you get one that's not on eBay direct from China?
@@PrinceNeverLazy I'm in Australia, we still have them in most PC parts stores... (Scorptec, Centrecom, MSY etc)
I threw my Asus Z790 Hero in the trash!
they are disappointing because of the higher price the higher the overclock and dts 7.1, its not the money altogether, its the designs boards, the qvl ram compatibility, and how much overclock can you gain, give me a b660 or tuf gaming but with more overclock, if you buy z790 you can already feel the issues inbound, I want intel to do same, give gamers a cpu thats is good but not the yearly expensive release.
gg dude i got the z790 ddr4 and using ddr4 3600mhz ram lol would the ddr5 version been a better choice considering its almost the same price?
also is it possible to run 4070ti when the price drops in future? also shit i'm using the 13900k i7 which explains the 45'c at idle lol
lol it does explain 45c. I’ve just tested ddr5. Same gaming performance… I would go 4080. Check Amazon warehouse deals Best Buy or b&h. I picked up mine for $1030.
@@GeorgeTech thanks didnt expect a reply i guess i shouldve went for the asus prime z790-a/p since its same price in my country….. hopefuly more viewers see this review and think twice before purchasing
@@frng97 wait did you not see the conclusions around 4m-5m? At 4:45 he clearly says the Gigabyte Z790 wins by a lot and its rated 60% higher. Don't skimp and buy cheap asus prime stuff like I did! Prime is poop, it's not even related to the good ROG stuff, you will probably regret it in 3 years!
i was comparing between the two since its the same price in my country but yeah the aorus elite ax is the cheapest z790 motherboard rn i just regret not getting the ddr5 verison since ddr5 ram at 6000/6400 mhz is like $40 diff compared to the 3600mhz ddr4 i got lol
ddr5 is twice as fast. hope this helps
Had this mobo in particular. Not even 2 days in and i had a BSOD. Had someone see if i did something wrong. Even she couldnt figure it out after 2 weeks of diagnosing. I returned it and waiting on a replacement.
BSOD Error - Inaccessible Boot Device.
Tried different HDD/SSD
HES BACK
Im trying to decide between the 790 ace and godlike. The thing a out the godlike, seems like I dont need it at all. Gaming, streaming, and editing youtube videos.
Would the ace be fine?
i have that ASUS MB and it is giving up to 270W to my 13700KF. with 55C temp. BEST for it's price
Where were you man???
Yeah.... lol I'll try to be around more brother
The gigabyte Z790 gaming x ax with f2 firmware keeps randomly crashing thou with 13tyh gen i9 13900k cpu, even just crashed with bug check when doing nothing running cool. apparently its bad bios firmware to blame.
It could be ram too. Run it stock and remove cpu oc “optimizations”
@@GeorgeTech No i found out the mb has cpu enhancements enabled by default, so its been overclocking my cpu and its has destroyed the cpu, its degraded the memory controller in the cpu itself, so yes it memory all right but in the cpu, now i need to start with a 2nd new cpu again.
lucky is covered under warranty. i had no idea over 325watts was pumping through my cpu with factory settings, madness.
@@bjtaudioim confused , if i9 is already support over clocking would it get damaged if it was overclocked by the motherboard?
Its supports overclocking but it can be damaged depends on you're settings, it also can void the warranty. It can be overclocked without damage, but what Intel do not tell you is can reduce the life of the cpu as its under more stress.
when come 14gen cpu - work only z790 chipset and new cipset , buld today lov z790 chipset i not recomendet
No coil whine on the GB? I was not that lucky.. Trying another then if no dice moving to ASUS.
Where did u get the coil whine?
What about ddr5,asus z790 a prime and gb z790 aorus elite ax?
Trying to adjust ram voltage to 1.5 cannot find setting
Its worked fine and yesterday killed itself... dont work anymore after 2 weeks of runtime
Bro this username. Jesust…
not only is it the worst its a $200 motherboard with no DDR5 support
You are So TUF and you know it xD ... Respect man !
This guy...
@@GeorgeTech what did you expect? x)
Basically....the conclusion is Gigabyte Z790 Elite AX is the best upper midrange budget Motherboard.....Is not it??
Please reply
I have this Board and the PCI-E 5.0 Slot sucks. The Crucial T700 only get 7000 read write speeds and is WELL short of the 10000 advertised. Also it will run the 13900K Okay, however overclocking that chip is SHIT on this Board.
@@Chiefgeargrinder You put an NVMe drive in the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot? 🤔
I got a Prebuilt that came with the DDR5 version of this ASUS board. It's fucking terrible to add storage to, had to remove the GPU to access it, and luckily the sag bracket had enough give to just push it aside without fully removing it or I'd have had to also remove the water block to remove the GPU from the sag bracket.
Kinda normal but yeah it sucks if you need to do it often
сейчас бы на ДДР4 собирать....
someone told me that asus prime z790 p wifi dont work good with i9 13900k and dont maximize full potantial of the processer and going hot is it right plz help i have this motherboard and i hope i didnt make mistake.. i got the i9 13900k
I just built mines on the same board with same i9 and I think everything for me is good
it work great
So is gigabyte board good?
Yah 🙂
@@GeorgeTech thanks for the reply, between this and asus tuf z790 which one should I got for?
@@dronzer007 Go with this one. VRM is slightly better.
Hello George, greetings from Ecuador. I hope if you can help me with a question about Gigabyte Aorus Elite z790 ax.
First, I have my cpu connected to energy, and you can see mainboard status leds are off. As soon as I turn on my computer, those leds sequentially turn on and off, I assume those leds show the POST process steps when the computer is booting. Finally when computer turns on, all status leds are off and I can use computer normally, the problem comes when I turn off the computer, as soon as the cpu is off, the CPU status led turns on. This happens too when the PC and monitor enters to standby mode after an idle period, and as soon as I begin using computer again, that led is off. In my channel I have a video showing that, just in case.
I want to know if this behavior of CPU status led is normal or not?
Should I ignore that problem or send the motherboard to technician? (all the pc components are brand new, I have them only from a week ago).
I appreciate your help, thanks in advance.
If there’s an issue you wouldn’t be able to post. Your board is ok bro.
@@GeorgeTech thanks a lot George for your kind answer. Well, that helped a lot, now I'm confident about my setup.
@@GeorgeTech Hi George. Since last time I wrote you about my issue, I realized something new. Motherboard lits its CPU troubleshooting led when computer enters into sleep mode or when computer is shut down, and led remains lit unless you disconnect the monitor from energy or DisplayPort cable of the CPU. This makes me think about a physical problem, and not a simple bug. That led situation does not occur when the HDMI cable is connected to the monitor, when the computer goes into sleep mode or shuts down, the CPU LED lights up fleetingly but turns off and remains off. I know my system can post, it can boot, but I dont want today this thing Im trying to ignore, tomorrow can cause me major problems, if it is something related to hardware. If you have any ideas what this could be, I will appreciate it too much. Greetings from Ecuador.
