  • In this video I review the Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Elite X Gen WiFi 7 and discuss why buying fast DDR5 7000+ kits is a waste of money (most of the time) and why new Z790 generation of boards like Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Elite X should change this.
This video sound better at 1.25 speed :)

    05:20 DDR5 7000+ Mhz is complicated
06:25 But how do I get 7000+ then?
07:32 How did gigabyte get DDR5 8266 on X gen?

Please subscribe, I want to make more videos and that motivates me the most. It is free and really helps.
Video sounds best at 1.25 speed! Any feedback is appreciated.
    IMPORTANT:
Please do not buy DDR5 8Gb modules. Just don't.
Non-K CPUs cannot overclock DDR5 as far as K CPUs. 6000 Mhz is usually the limit for them.

Also I have to say for only having 2 videos on your channel your video structure, segment and information pacing is impressive 🙌. Genuinely! You should definitely keep at it m8.
I should say that I clicked on your W790 video. Seemed like something I’d find interesting, which I did. So seeing how well constructed that video was I figured I’d find lots of other videos. U know taking for granted that u had several 1000s of subscribers and plenty more content..but 😳..no only the this one. 🤯
Well I hope I’ll see more videos from u.
    Thx for the video.

Thanks for your video, Man. I purchased this motherboard, along with 64gb ddr 5 5600 mtz ram. Cpu : i7 14700k. Cooler master psu. Put it all together. The darn thing will not boot. Between this motherboard and the MSI z790 Tomahawk (DDR5), which one would you pick for an intel i9 13900k?
These are the other components of the pc:
    - corsair 1000w gold plus

I just ordered this mobo for my build (I9-14900K) along with 32G G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-8000 CL38. I'm no RAM expert, so does one just select the correct timing (38-38-48-128 1.45V) in XMP booster, regardless if it's Micron, Hynix, or Samsung? Or is there a diff. way to get to the 8000? I'm afraid I'm a bit ignorant on this stuff.

    • @ArtyomExplainsEng

@@ArtyomExplainsEng Thanks for a quick reply. Even though the board says it can use up to 8266, it appears 7800 and below are the only ones stable at the moment. If that's true from your research, I'll exchange the 8000 for the 7800's...and save $50. I wouldn't know the bloody difference anyway. Worth a sub to me, thanks! Is it true that on this MB, if you want to change or having access to your M.2 SSDs, you'll have to take off the GPU ? And for taking off the GPU, often you would need to take off the CPU cooler ? Wow ! It doesn't make sense. Why not having all M.2 separate ?? 😮

    • @ArtyomExplainsEng
      @ArtyomExplainsEng  8 месяцев назад

I had a 360 aio and I definitely did not have to take it off the cpu to do anything with m.2. Unless you have a huge air cooler, but it would block the first m.2 on any board. I do not think the gpu blocks any m.2 but installing m.2 would be less convenient for sure with the gpu in the board.

Note that all the super high performance kits are based on 48GB Ram kits and not 64Gb kits. It is all to do with 24Gb per stick controllers. They are far more efficient that 32Gb ram sticks. Thus go for 48GB kits as they are 50% more ram than 32 Gb kits But run faster than any other stick size. They bog down on a 32Gb stick.

Actually Gygabite produce so many models of motherboard, that I'm confused wich one i have already seen and which one I haven't yet. Nice to see placed space for 22110 th. And this solution within unbrakeble pci-e slot....i never seen befor, so that someone broke ever. ....Again market. And again if VGA card in slot, you can`t pull out ssd`s. Again i don`t see one more 4pin connector for side wall case cooler, again you need extender. 3:46 - Sata still in use but close to die for ever. (i hope) Again. Few? Only 6 4pin connectors, for all pc, - In modern pc you need: 3 for Liquid Cooler GPU, 3 for CPU, 1 for side wall case fan, and many other stuff what ever you installed in you machine, cooling for ssd`s, more case fans, or some hhhl card. "No we present more F*cking RGB" "It`s more usefull". Only two internal USB 3. Mean`s go every time to back side panel. - Gygabite think`s: "It`s usefull !!" 6:24 - Actually this issue is more comfortable moment for manufacturers, how to give you install only one of two, ...or more memory capacity, or more high frequency components (yes, conspiracy theory). Buying high friquency components you must use only 2 ddr slots, 2 slots there are more often on m-itx boards, which are limited by features, thus, pc works fast, but if you like run more program and don`t like close em, to switch to another one, you arises a throble by memory overflow, in another scenario you got more memory, but all tasks process is slack. ....Aaannd.....(conspiracy theory)...you go to buy hedt platform for +100500 bucks price. And every thing works fine but you need a psychologist ))) ....and second job. ...+ new credit card. ...
New hardware is boring, 10-11-12-13-14......99-100 th gen, is through-passage products, designed for waste your money and fundamentally is overrated. 10900x was interesting cpu as part of hedt platform, where you can get more pci lines, 4 ch ddr, and other stuff. Next is valued - 4677, for now to raw, but some where from next one within prudution roadmap.....emerald rapids, granite rapids, diamond rapids, ...we will get a decent unit.
P.s. 8 layers - it`s to few. Even taking into account the layer thickness. Especially, for DDR5 memory, whose frequency can reach near 8000MHz. For note, in Evga x299 which used ddr4, and where was supposed near 4400mhz, was used in production 12 layers.

The odds of 2x32 running in xmp are almost 100%, with 2x24 7600 xmp will very likely be unstable. Keep the 2x32, it is good ram, don't switch. The best you can go with 32g sticks with manual overclock is ~7000, but 32 gig sticks are a bit faster than 16/24 with the same speed due to dual rank. You are good, don't worry.

@@ArtyomExplainsEng it still doesn't make any sense, think about this, when are you going to need to open that panel and plug an SSD inside?
1: when you mount the PC so you still need screws to mount the motherboard and the PC + securing the GPU
2: maybe you have already mounted your pc so you want to upgrade your storage memory so first you must remove your GPU so you need to unscrew the PCIe securing screws, unplug the CPU and then open the panel and plug the SSD. Then secure again the GPU.
In both scenarios you still need tools.

It do not matter what Motherboard z790 14 th gen you buy.
They all can take up to 7800-8000 mhz.
The hole problem is that pc stability is never put into marketing.
Dont look at MAX speed ever, look at what motherboard / CPU can do for stabel solution.
And yes the stabel solution is 6000-6200-6400-6600 for INTEL.
And 6800-7200 is what you can call heavy overclocking and will stress test your system no matter what.
So wry play around whit 7800-8000 mhz when it is well pushed out everywhere and testet.
Just go for cheaper ram and setup XMP 3.0 and stop doing manuel overclocking.
Every DDR5 ram can at least give you 2-400 mhz more whit push XMP on.
So even 6000 or 6400 is just fine for everyone.
