I've made this last night with a few adjustments and i made a dipping sauce. It was awesome. I think i found my new favorite fried chicken recipe. Thank you for sharing this. 😀
I followed all your tips for fring chicken, but used my own recipe, it turns out great, really it is the crispiest children ever, my whole family enjoyed it very much, thank you so much.
I just transformed into vegan diet, after watched this, am goin to break my vegan one day and try this receipe. Just because bi heard the crispy sound..hahaa. thank you spice n pans
This is an ideal recipe for people craving fried crispy chicken. Best than Jollibee, KFC etc. Cook it at home, you are sure using clean oil and you know what was used to make it tasty.
Another simple and excellent recipe from my favourite chef. Will try this during this Puasa month. Lazy to pound the ingredients so will use the ready off-the-shelf ground stuff. Hope it turns out as well. Thanks Roland!
The first time I tried making something from your channel was the "Chinese beef with ginger and spring onion" recipe and it turned out perfect 🥰 A fan of your work, attention to detail, and entertainment.
I like this recipe and will try it soon, you always show great tutorials and recipes. I've made several of your recipes and my Chinese wife enjoyed every dish.
Oooh I just cut up a fresh chicken! Tomorrow I gotta try this. Hey! You could give the Colonel a run for his money. Roland’s Thai Crunch Chicken trucks, like Amazon but tastier.
🖒🖒🖒It has been a while since I deep-fried chicken with spices as the skin always got burnt before the meat is well cooked. Your tip on butterflying the drums is great and so is the ratio for the batter. Thank you so much for sharing and I believe my family can enjoy deep- fried chicken henceforth...😃😃😃
Thanks so much, Gail. Coriander roots are commonly used in Thai dishes and this ingredient is what that gives Thai dishes a unique taste. But we reckon that without coriander root, this chicken will turn out just fine as well. Happy cooking!
This recipe was perfecto although I didn't have coriander roots and replace it with celery roots instead. Im planning to use it as one of my staple menu. Thanks 👍
This fried chicken looks ace. I will be trying out this recipe soon on chicken and mushrooms. Thank you for the share. I have not had a decent fried chicken since the pendemic. My local KFC used to do good crispy chicken. It has been ages since I make copycat KFC fried chicken but yours is crisper.
Hi Roland ( I hope I get your name right?) thank you for sharing your recipes. Many thanks from Australia! Your fried chicken, Alamak, makes me hungry now!!!!!!
You should use red limestone water to make an extra crispy instead of water. Most of Thai street food vender and restaurants use red limestone water for fried food. You can buy it online in the States.
It looks delicious!!! I have only found coriander roots one time, and it was just one in the bag with the bunch. Would the stems give it the same taste?
It definitely looks super delicious. Would it be fine to marinade overnight? What can substitute for the self raising flour? Thanks for the great recipe.
@@spicenpans I did yesterday. They did like it but their prefer your noodles and chicken plum sauce ;) I will try your popcorn chicken soon too hopefully.

It looks delicious!!! I have only found coriander roots one time, and it was just one in the bag with the bunch. Would the stems give it the same taste?
Yes you can use the stems but they may not be so fragrant. But overall, it'll work. Happy cooking, Sauzalita!

I will do that for my boys this Ramadhan

@@spicenpans I did yesterday. They did like it but their prefer your noodles and chicken plum sauce ;) I will try your popcorn chicken soon too hopefully.
Would toasting the whole dry spices before grinding yield a more fragrant marinade?
Hi Brian, yes surely but you don't need to do that. They're fragrant enough. Happy cooking!
Hello, please can you tell me what oil did you use for frying the chicken? Can’t wait to make this beautiful food!
Thanks so much, Ally. We used blended oil - a blend of peanut and vegetable oil. Happy cooking!
Yummy
Thank you so much 🙏🙏

Thank you so much! Have a wonderful weekend.
Yummy yummy! Roland, would you be able to show us some famous teochew dishes especially the spicy minced meat, hae bee hiam? Thanks!! 👍💯

Looks so yummy! Just wondering if it will stay crispy after a few hours?
Hi Alicia, unfortunately not after a few hours but within 30 mins should be okay. Happy cooking!
Hi, love your channel. May I know which brand fish sauce would you recommend?
Hi Clarice, we used knife brand but it's better to get fish sauce from Vietnam. Happy cooking!
