    I'm a big Ohtani fan but I consider this talk very irresponsible--reckless speculation and pushing for Shohei to pitch in the playoffs as a reliever. I know he'd love to be pitching, and all of us would love to see it. But it's totally wrong to put him in such a high intensity playoff situation when he's had NO game experience on the mound even in a minor league game for a year. Protect the guy. He's got years ahead of him to pitch for the Dodgers. Don't risk his arm by putting him into such a high leverage game when all he's done is throw bullpen sessions as he rehabs his arm. I think this decision is not his alone, either. He will respect the view of his doctor, the manager and the management. His doctor has already said he doesn't think it's wise for Ohtani to enter a playoff game on the mound yet.

      Yeah 100%. I hope the team knows better than to force ohtani to pitch this year.

    What’s crazy is he’s a star pitcher who hits as good as anybody in baseball. Hes got the average, he’s got the HR’s he’s got the RBI’s and now he decides he’s gonna set records in base stealing. Wild work

    I guarantee you Yamamoto will be Tanaka-like Ace in the playoffs and win every game he starts.

    I’m actually glad he didn’t make 60-60 or 55-55. There needs to be something for future generations to strive for! 😆

      54-54は現実的な目標にできる数字ではないと思うけどね。

      @@taka0359 I didn’t say it would be realistic, I said it’s something they could strive for.

    MVP Ohtani should deserve a triple crown.
    Ohtani => 54 HR, 130 RBI, .310 Avg, 1036 OPS
    Luiz Dias => 4 HR, 46 RBI, .314 Avg, .739 OPS

    Ohtani hasn't pitched all season and you wanna throw him in the most important games and risk him getting injured again? Dodgers have too many injuries if they win the NL Championship it'll be a win.

    9th inning 4-3 dodgers vs yankees game 7 Michael Kopech gets the first two outs then bring in Ohtani for the last batter vs Aaron Judge slider down and away like he did Mike Trout end the game.. book it

    Yea, let's cheer for our Prima Donna 'Diva' who sits on his ass the whole season, avoiding all that everyday position
    players have to endure, and especially those 'dog days' of Summer. No way a part time DH should be considered
    over an everyday player like Judge who outperformed him in an endless multitude of offensive categories. There's
    another position player on Cincinnati who even stole more bases than our princess.

      Your last sentence says it all. Ohtani only finished 2nd in sb in the entire MLB. Big deal. To add insult sb leader Elly De La Cruz stole 67 but was caught 16 times for an 80.7 sb percentage while Ohtani caught 4 times has a 93.7. Who cares. See you in the playoffs.
