Thanks so much for this video! I stopped doing dip nails because I hate the removal process so much. I will do this exact method soon! You're the best.
Marla, this was so helpful in getting my dipped nails off my fingers. I did get a machine that I got from Amazon. It’s a WilloWash and what it does is it’s basically a crock that heats at the bottom and you put your little dish on the top so it’s you can turn that on and off so it keeps your acetone warm while you’re getting the stuff off your nails it’s really cool I’ll try to post a picture with it if I can.
Thank you for sharing these instructions! I’ve practicing and find it very effective to support my finger by holding a small object under the finger I’m working on. I use a small nail polish bottle.
So if I don't want to sit in acetone, i thought to to use the little acetone packet wraps and proceed with the warm rice concept. Maybe that would be a mid way compromise, or is it more the rubbing against the paper towel that is the magic?
That was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you so much for sharing this method. I love dip powders, but feel like I'm damaging my natural nails during the removal, so I'm going to try this method next. I don't have the coconut oil acetone, so I will add my coconut oil to the one I have until its gone and try your recommendation next. Again, thank you for this helpful video.
@@mauraa9719 yes, you can do just acetone, but straight acetone will leave your fingers dried out a bit and look all white. Adding a little coconut oil, moisturizes the skin and keeps your nails from being too dry and brittle.
The proper way to dispose of hazardous solvents is to allow them to evaporate after which the container or other materials can be safely thrown into the trash.
Nodding throughout!!! THANKYOU!!!! LOL!!!(I have been watching the weather app.... Its about 90 degrees in Florida & yesterday it snowed here in Southern AZ!!! It was sooooo lovely!!! Today it is sunny again! Yeah for the sun!!! 😊🌞 Have an excellent day!!!!✌🏻
I’m surprised the acetone doesn’t melt the baggie. Do you use the freezer baggies? The video looked like maybe you had 2 baggies? Thanks again for any help.
one more question... can you reuse the remover? I hate to waste product, so if you can seal up the baggie, can you remove the paper towel, rinse so it doesn't smell up the entire house, and reuse the remover even if you have to add a touch more?
I bought that same MelodySusie efile and love it. Do you have that particular bit listed in your Amazon storefront, or can you leave a link. I've been using the wrap with foil and heating pad method although it's somewhat easier it still takes longer. So rice is it next time! Thanks!
Thank you! Also; would builder gel be a good option for someone that works a manual labor job? I work a stocking position at a grocery store and I’m always breaking my nails on a box of some sort. I never use them as tool but sometimes when I pick stuff up it’ll slip out of my hand and catch my nail. Or would gel polish be just fine? I’m trying to look for something that will be durable and easy to do at home and still help my nails grow.
My nails usually get to soft when I have to take dip powders off, and I have to wait a whole month before I do another set of dip nails on my natural nails, is there anyway of preventing soft nails?
If you find your nails are thinning, that’s usually due to overfiling. Be extra cautious when you’re prepping for a new set as to not damage or thin out the natural nail 💞
@@MarlaKris thank you for answering me back, because I thought it was just the acetone remover, I’m really just learning how to do dip nails 💅, so maybe instead of dipping 3 times like I see others do, I’ll just do 2 thin coat dips , love your channel and thanks 😊 again.
You’d use this same exact method if you are wanting to remove the tips as well. If you want to keep the tips and just remove the dip, yep lol lots of filing!
@@christinesonnemann totally depends. If you’re wanting to completely change things up, do a soak off. But you can backfill dip or extensions as often as you need to! Soak offs are more of a preference than a necessity 💞
Hi, Marla! Thank you, for this, it's great information. You said you heated the rice for two 30 second intervals. How long do you wait between? Also, could you reuse the acetone?
Hey sweetness! I take the rice out after 30, mix it quick and pop it back in! So the acetone isn’t as effective after a soak off (bc not it’s acetone mixed with acrylic or gel or whatever) so I tend not to reuse it
If you are in the nail salon, rice isn’t too professional, however, it takes a while for them to soak too. Do you have a good tip for that? Maybe I can suggest some good methods for them 😊
Hey Marla, I’m back in cold PA from sunny FL, what a shock to my system after 11 days - Waaaa! Question about the efile, you used a higher rpm speed, as someone who is still learning, is a lesser speed ok to use? I’m glad you shared how you dispose of your acetone when you are done with it because it was something I wasn’t sure about and had done a couple of different things. Thanks as always for a great tutorial video.
Hey love! Slower speeds may actually cause the but to catch on the nail and not remove the product well but of course, you want to go at a pace you’re comfy with. Start around 8k and gradually work up to 12k
Marla, you posted a video on low odor liquids that you like. Can you give me the name of the base? Does the liquids effect you? My last dip was with a dust collector, I applied the activator outside, wiped with alcohol. Got a cough and now bronchitis, for over a week. I can’t be positive it’s from the liquids, but it sure is likely time wise. Thank you. 😊
I used the Sundara low odor base liquid. I generally don’t get dip flu, so I may not be the best person to ask. I’ve heard great things about the revel odorless and the color my world odorless!

Make sure you’re filing off all the top coat! You can file more - the thinner the product, the faster it’ll remove. Glitters always take a little longer
Yes you can remove gel polish in 6 minutes and yes warming the acetone up helps speed up soak off time but you absolutely cannot soak off dip or acrylic in just 6 minutes if it's been properly put on. Would definitely be nice and would be great timewise but not fully true.
Of course it’ll depend on how thick the application is and whether or not it’s glitter (that may take longer) but my overlay (3 coats of dip) soaks off in less than 6 min. 100% truth. ❤️
