So great to see Tommy dive waist deep into our old time American music. He is a very special person and what a fantastic guitar player. Richard Smith and Jim Nichols sure can play as well and so tastefully.
I’ve watched several of their clips and marvelled at it all. I toyed with the guitar . And am okay on a blues harp , but there’s something to be said for the dedication these men have , the love and sheer practice practice practice , that would put so called musicians to shame these days . One hit wonders may earn more money , but for respect earned , these men have few equals . Long after the drum machine programmers and samplers have disappeared into the night , or frankly up their owners asses , these genuine musicians will still be creating beautiful pure music .

I think Tommy is best in playing his ballads and Own compositions. His improvisation is nice but not as refined as Jim. Also Richard is a incredible Finger picker with decent ability to improvise with delicate touch of gypsy jazz and Jazz.
It doesn't get much better than this! I'd like see one of my other guitar heroes up there with them, Ray Cummins but then I don't get the impression that he's a jammer like these three.
The chubby guy with glasses looks like a bus driver or something, but DANG! He is sneaky good! Seen him with Tommy before. Kind of guy you might discount at a cutting contest, to your peril.
