I look up this case and the mother got a decade in prison for child neglect/abuse and perjury. She testified for this lowlife in a pre trial hearing and broke down w/NO tears when talking about the son murdered by him. She cared more for the bf than her kid, IMO. Thank God this killer got put away for life.

social worker here. cps always fails kids like this. i guarantee you people have called cps on this family. unfortunately, cps policies are extremely outdated & didn’t even visit to see if these kids were okay. sad, genuinely sad.
I grew up right outside of Chicago, with a single mom of four who was an unmedicated schizophrenic my entire life. We never went to school, and we were told to tell everyone we were home schooled. The horrors occurred day and night. I’m in my 30s now but sometimes I wonder what life would’ve been life if someone would know what was going on inside that house.
In the uk. You can’t keep your children off school. You will get a fine and go to court or even jail. Kids have to go to school.

I dated a guy once that got frustrated one day so he said to me “your son is acting up”. My son was 6. It triggered me so bad that he used the words your son and didn’t call him by his name. I said “MY SON HAS A FU**ING NAME” cursed him out sooo bad kicked him out of my house! (he didn’t live there, he was just over dinner.) that was the last time I saw him. I used to always feel bad thinking maybe I over reacted, but then I see stuff like this and instantly feel better about my decision.

As a single parent, this is the exact reason I chose to raise my children as a single parent. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy but I would never be able to live with myself if I had brought this monster or someone like him into my children’s lives. RIP little one😢❤

I did not date at all while I was raising my 2 children. I was on my own with them from the time they were 4&5. Parenting is both the hardest and most rewarding job there is. Frankly as I was a very involved parent, between working 40-60 hours/week and taking care of my children, I had no time to date. I did camp nursing for 3 summers in a row in a small town in Cleveland, Georgia and my daughter was around 6 years old at that time. The doctor doing a week of volunteering absolutely loved my daughter (not in a creepy way). He would sit her in his lap and read a book to her and I’ll tell you, even now thinking about how wonderful he was to her, makes me tear up because this is what her own father should have been doing. Her father literally never got her clothing sizes right and got stuff on the cheap out of the country (he’s Russian) so her birthday and Christmas gifts could never be returned. Or he bought my son and daughter gifts that were literally couple years too young for them (think Russian Sesame Street when they were like 10 and 12),
But I’ve been blessed the most because I got to be with my children as they grew up and now as adults, they understand how much I sacrificed for them. Sadly my daughter says she’s never having children and I think that’s because she saw how much I had to struggle. And my son hasn’t had a decent long term relationship but they’re both still young so there’s hope.
Sometimes it's better to be adopted. Let's not pretend mother was any better. She allowed him to beat the kids, probably helped him.
Your son is disposable more so than the father of the son. Your daughter's value raised in western society and having kids in the kinds of young empowered women when their mens value plummeted. You'll find your daughter will rather be a boss babe. And the women that choose your son will treat him as a devalued man. He might be your son hut he is still very much so a product of broken western homes, and his father is very much to blame, as was mine as are all the others. If adults would be actual adults you can conquer anything. I grew up way rougher than probably most of the people in these comments. Parents on drugs and dropping out of school at an early age. Once I became a dad the light bulb went off in my head to give my daughter and wife I never had. I made a promise that my daughter would never live like I did. From how I was raised it taught me what not to do. Just because you were dealt a bad hand when you were younger doesn’t give you an excuse to be a piece of shit yourself. Pull up your big boy pants and better yourself and your situation. To many people settle and never want to move up in life. Work 2-3 jobs if need be.

There’s no bigger risk to your child than a non blood relative. People need to really stop and think before they think the grass is greener & leave the actual parent. You’re exposing your child to possible abuse by moving some man into your life who has no tie to your kid whatsoever. As a parent your happiness comes last, way behind the wellbeing of your child which absolutely needs both parents to have the best chance of success.

When we were kids, our mom wouldn't let us sleepover at friends' houses (which we absolutely hated) and our dad literally pulled us aside on numerous occasions to lecture us about keeping an appropriate distance from our male relatives. At the time, we thought they were both nuts. How can you tell us to keep an appropriate distance from our own uncles, our cousins, etc. As an adult, I understand why. All my male family members are wonderful people, but our dad wanted us to be safe rather than sorry. Our mom wanted to keep us in her sights, even if we complained and acted like brats about it. And this is coming from a divorced household where we were technically raised by a single parent. When both parents are equally sane and equally invested in their children, everything is different

I was divorced and took care of my sons every other week and if anything happened or the kids were sick my ex and I informed each other.
