I did everything but touch the distributor these last 3 days .. fuel pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, pcv, intake hose, checked fuses, made sure the crankshaft position sensor that dosnt exist on my 2200cc engine wasn't the problem, banged on the starter a couple times while cranking, and nothing. I guess it's time to suck it up and do the distributor. Looks gunky around the seams anyway, might as well. I already replaced the cap too. I just don't wanna ruin the timing trying to remove the whole unit 😪
Im having the same issue on a 1994 camry. Would run then after running a little while it would die and not staret until it cooled down. Finally whatever it is went all the way out. Thought it was coil but replaced the coil, the cap and rotor, and also the capacitor and still no spark. Any ideas? Or how to test the crank shaft sensor without removing it?
Yeah I’ve left my 95 Camry wagon siting for a few years sadly while searching for the solution. Gotta share the gospel of Thecarcarenut to those in need hahahaha
@MattGredig awesome! So it was your problem because on this 94 camry that's my brother in laws we can't seem to figure it out I redid a bunch of stuff and new distributor too. Still have a engine light and running not right
I'm trying to take the coil off without removing the distributor fully (Novice Mechanic, worried to mess up timing), the ignition coil for mine is straight down whereas I've seen others pointing to the top left. Screws are hard to get to and hoses that are in the way are on tight and I'm worried to force them off and possibly damage them, any advice?
If you're getting spark at the plug then check for fuel. The fuel pump is easy access under the back seat. It's a five wire connector. The two larger wires are power and ground. Make sure power and ground are present when cranking. If you can (safely) give direct power and ground to the pump itself to listen for operation. Remove the fuel line to see if fuel is flowing out
@@Usmanthemecano I had replaced the fuel pump couple weeks ago. It’s funny when I turn on the ignition I don’t here the fuel pump run. Until after I finish cranking on it.
@@Usmanthemecano I don’t think so. Ben cranking it alots today no fuel on the spark plugs. But when I put carburetor cleaner in air duck still no start Smh
hey so pretty sure I have the same problem. got no start in the mornings. It's not the batter alternator starter or solenoid. my gut says its the crankshaft sensor which of course is located n the distrubutor how do i fix it without buying a whole new distributor at $140 bucks and I've noticed people say stay away from remanufactured.
I'm trying to figure out a glitch on a 1994 Land Cruiser (OBD1) I have the crank but no start situation, it has no Crankshaft position sensor. It happens when is hot, then next day it will turn on and fail again when trying to start it after a stop. What I can't see in your video is if the Check Engine light is on... in mine both Check Engine and ABS lights are off when the failure is happening.
Could be a failing fuel pump as well. Best time to diagnose it is when it's happening. Check for rpm when cranking. If present then move on to fuses... if all fuses are ok then check for fuel at the fuel rail. If present check for spark at the plugs. If all is ok then perhaps the timing is off...
@@Usmanthemecanosame issue no abs light tho just regular brake light every now n then, car started losing power while driving in the rain and returned to Normal before the engine just died and it wouldn't fire again but spun over

Thanks for your reply, it turned out that a previous owner had a hidden tracking device the was never removed and had the battery void causing a short, an electrician removed the device and so far has been working fine, also doesn't have parasitic loads anymore.
I have a 05 Camry had Codes for Camshaft sensors changed out both but car still wont start. It cranks but won't turn over and the codes are back. SMH
Crankshaft sensor maybe. But it needs to be diagnosed tbh
Don’t know how old this is but on the same car I had to get a rebuilt engine control with similar symptoms
Camry95....does not have an OBD. How did you get the codes Usman????
The other fuse box has 2 relays same as EF1

Parts canon.... why not diagnose it properly the first time

When there is ignition trouble ECM sets code 14 which turns off the fuel injectors.
This car's been diagnosed and fixed long ago... What you see in the video is a process.

You won't mess with timing. This isn't a gm distributor... it has a slot it fits in. You can't mess this up
@@Usmanthemecano okay, thank you so much for the advice and content to learn from brother. 🙏
What was the fix for this car? Did another coil fix it? Please post the fix.

Any idea about code 12 obd1 Corolla 1995. engine revolution signal missing boss??
I already replaced the distributor
Does it have a crank sensor? If so check for good signal at the engine computer.
yOu have an OBD for your 95 corolla??....they started in 1996
I have adapters

Bad battery or parasitic draw...something is staying on. Look for a video on how to do a "parasitic draw test"
