  • It is typically stated that there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Ferrari but I bought one anyways. Only 629 Mondial QV Cabriolets were produced worldwide so I just had to save it. The Mondial Cabriolet remains, to this day, the only 4 seater, mid engine convertible production car ever made.

Before rebuilding switches, check your fuse box. You may find the source of the problem is actually there. For sure, it’s always a good idea to check and clean the switch contacts to remove any oxidation. Good luck with it!

It's a nice looking Mondial. It sounds like your issues are almost all mechanical, which is good in that all the relevant parts are still available (albeit at a price). I bet she'll run well when you get the K-jet system sorted out (as you know, those systems can be very reliable, but they don't do well with any impurities that come from sitting). I bet that fuel cap will be an easy fix -- maybe some deoxit on the switch and connectors (BTW there's a manual release in the engine compartment, which you should use instead of pulling up on the fuel door).
    Good luck!

Yes, the fuel distributor has actually been rebuilt twice in the last 3 months. The first time was right before I took ownership. However, the shop that did it apparently did not have the expertise to do it right. My mechanic said there are only about 3 shops in the US that he trusts to rebuild them so he removed it and sent it off for rebuild. It’s reinstalled now and working properly. Now it just needs to be calibrated optimally. Hope the have the car back next week. I was aware of the fuel door release in the engine bay but the cable broke… One more thing I have to fix 😂
