5 First Essential Mods for the Ducati Panigale V2!

  • The new black Ducati Panigale V2 is an absolute beauty of a bike, and we want to get it on it and ride ASAP!
But before that, we need to tackle the essential first mods.
    What are they?
    - Dieci83 Radiator Guards: tinyurl.com/jn7uvhr5
These are absolutely essential for every bike, and we do not ride any of the Motomillion bikes without a radiator and oil cooler guard. The front tire kicks up dust and debris constantly while riding, and there is always a risk of kicking up a rock and puncturing your radiator/oil cooler. The Dieci83 radiator guards offer a protective shield to keep your radiator in the best condition.
    - Caliper Spacers: tinyurl.com/mtajyb56
Here is more of an aesthetic mod, caliper spacers allow us to remove that dreaded ugly OEM reflector! The way it's mounted is on the brake caliper, so the caliper spacers take the place of the reflector.
    - Shield-o-tron Screen Protector
We do this all the time on mobile phones to protect it, so why not do the same for your bike? Remember the screens are exposed to the elements, rain, your dirty gloves, and replacing those screens costs a pretty penny. So this is a very cheap protective measure!
    - TWM Quick Action Fuel Cap: tinyurl.com/4ta59ahw
The quick action fuel cap makes filling up extremely easy. A key is no longer needed to remove the fuel cap, all it takes is to push in, quarter turn, and the fuel cap comes off to fill up at your gas station. Especially those with a bike with keyless entry know how convenient it is to not need to fumble looking for your key!
    - Tank Protectors: tinyurl.com/yc4d8zaj
You always want to protect your fuel tank from getting scratched up by your belt buckle or buttons on your pants! That's what these tank protectors do.
    - NRC Fender Eliminator Kit: tinyurl.com/2rtdfs3h
That OEM rear fender is always hideous on these bikes, and NRC makes the best fender eliminators in the industry. They look beautiful, but also offer the safety you want out of a rear fender, with very bright and visible lights. And it's plug and play!

310mm vs a 330mm rotor differences are HUGE. the brake pad has a 3cm surface area on the rotor. switching to a 330mm oversized rotor from a 310 as standard means you get an additional ~30% more surface area per rotation. so with the same pump and brake calipers you get more stopping power. the downside is that now you will have more rotating mass on the front wheel. regardless if the new rotors are same(or lighter) weight as the originals, they will be bigger, so the gyroscopic effect will have a small negative impact. i have done it, so i know 😄

Great explanation. We are going with lighter wheels from factory, so it may offset things a little!

Its also about the bigger leverage that comes with a bigger rotor which produces more torque with the same pressure

You don’t get more stopping power. You get more heat dissipation over time. If you’re not having problems at the track then you don’t need this upgrade. There are plenty of engineering and technical videos on this subject.

On a circuit maybe, but it’s a waste of money for other 95%.

I just got these radiator guards for my v2 and I’m pretty sure these are for a 1299 they work but the fit isn’t that great

    • @Motomillion
      @Motomillion  5 месяцев назад

The radiator and the shrouds are the same as the 1299. If you follow the way we installed it, the fit is pretty good. If not we would never install them on our own bikes.

Sorry to disagree on most as those are catering to the squids who chooses form over function.
However I agree with #1 Rad guards and #6 Tank protector against zipper and belt wear.
    My List:
    #1. Rad guards
    #2. Tank protector
#3. Throttle Spacers (rid that dreaded throttle slop)
#4. Gearing change (-1F cheap, +2R better) as all Ducatis are geared too long.
#5. Short levers (more comfort for two finger action).
Most important, spend on stands, a wheel chock*, maintenance tools and supplies.
    Then, bling all you want.
    * Why the wheel chock? I've dropped the Pani twice in the garage. Call it carelessness, stupidity whatever. The one time, I was reaching out for my rear stand and as I turned around to grab it the bike fell off the side-stand like in slow motion. Noooooo. Never again for me. Park it in a wheel chock. It's also awesome for trailering.

Why don't you use Futurismoto fender eliminator?

    • @Motomillion
      @Motomillion  5 месяцев назад +1

Weight and the lack of wider and brighter turn signals. We aren’t knocking on them though, we just think NRC is the best, all things considered.

What’s the torque spec on the calipers

    • @ArisBalomenos

      I believe they need to be 45 Nm / 33.2 lb-ft.

Why not provide the torque specs?
You show no detail on the radiator guard protection.

Because it is best to check your service manual for your torque specs. We are not making "HOW TO" videos or raising mechanics.
