He seems like an amazing coach! Great human who can listen to you and make you feel good, and at the same time he understands physiology at a deep level. What a guy, reminds me of one of my old coaches when I was young.
such a great coach! I'm really lucky to be working with him.
3:50 "eat enough always, eat too much sometimes, eat too little never"
Hi Allie from an older Alaskan who remembers when you were in high school and having so many successes. My heart hurts that you were experiencing such a tough time and no one knew. I'm so happy for you that you have such a healthy mindset now and I'm rooting for you no matter what!! ❤
I love this comment!!❤❤❤
@@kecrn4132 ❤
EDs thrive in secrecy which is part of what makes them so dangerous. I'm very fortunate to have an amazing support system that has helped me change directions :)
As a male athlete in prep for a half ironman and someone who's also had many struggles with an ED this was a fantastic video for me.
fueled will always be faster. It's comforting to know that David believes that wholeheartedly while also being incredibly knowledgable on all of the latest sports science.
“Every single one of these trees is my children.” 💩🚽💩🚽 🌲🌲🌲🌲 Dave is HILARIOUS
haha the woods owe him
Allie! I have never been nor will I ever be an elite runner. But. Since starting to watch your videos in the last six months, I have started running again after about a six year break. Living in that 10 minute mile club but watching your videos has brought back the joy and finished the self-criticism that had been keeping me from running. So thank you! So much enjoy watching your story.
I love to hear this so much! I hope that you can fully enjoy running for the beautiful sport it is, no matter how fast or far you go :)
This is just amazing content and inspiration. When Dave said “it’s never too late to stop digging a hole…I wrote that %$# down.
it's worth writing down!
You are a HUGE inspiration for me! Thank you for everything you are doing. I’m an athlete you is struggling with food and watching you makes me feel seen and understood. I love you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you know how inspiring you are ❤️
thank you so much! Comments like this are exactly what push me to continue sharing my story and being open online :)
16:00 "Show me somebody who has a 50% dream and I'll show you someone who needs to dream at least 10x bigger"
preach!
That might be one of my favorite new quotes
Allie you’re so inspiring to me! I’m a hs runner with amenorrhea and watching your videos makes me feel like I can run like you someday if I put my mind to it
you can! Keep working, put your health first, and believe in yourself :)
I use your videos to motivate me, a 78 yr old with chf.
that's amazing!!
David seems like a gem of a person!
She’s chatting easily at sub-7 miles…good gravy. I feel like a gazelle at 9:30 miles! Either way, it’s the same joy for both, right? I have my own little victories at my speed, just like Allie does at hers. We both feel proud and fulfilled when we do our best!!
Out of all your videos, this was amongst the best. Outstanding dialog between the two of you. Educational. Personal. Insightful. Loved it.❤
glad you liked it!!
This is so good. Thank you and David for putting it out. I love the idea of a weekly long run podcast with David talking to his different athletes :)
I'm only 5 minutes in & surprised by how much I'm enjoying hearing this conversation. Listening to a good coach is delightful ❤
so glad you're enjoying it!
@@allie_ostrander I really did!
This video is an absolute gem. There’s a lot of noteworthy phrases coming from unrehearsed conversations within it. You might want to consider doing more videos like this but make it uncut because even silent moments can be insightful - it would be like we are running with you two beside us.
Awesome run! So glad David healed from his injuries and was able to run with you. So exited to see more of your altitude camp! Keep up the great work! 💪
he healed so quickly!
Fantastic format for a video, would love more of this
yes, people seem to like it!
Hi Allie, it's so helpful to hear you & your (awesome) coach talk about working through toxic behaviors/habits. I'm a poet/musician/artist, and a healthy body and mindset are important to my work as well. And consistent training--constantly reaching for that place where my emotions & thoughts become words or images or sound. 🦋
having a healthy body and mindset is important for everyone, but sometimes it is sacrificed. It's really great to have a coach who fully understands that.
This is such a lovely video + conversation, thankyou for this :) so insightful!
Great video, love this format, and good luck for the trials!
Great video Allie! David seems like he is the perfect coach for you. The joy you have for your craft just oozes out of you right now, fun to watch!
Brilliantly done! Kudos also for the sound quality... so many valuable ideas in your conversation captured with expression and clarity.
Omg a podcast with you two would be greatness 😮❤ yes please! 😁
maybe soon!
one of the best q&as i’ve ever seen!
"when you love people and you care about them - make sure they know it" ❤❤
So glad you thought of this video - I love it!!
Legendary run. What a great duo! Can't wait to see what you do next together!
Awwh Allie, I loved this! You and your coach are AWESOME!! Allie you are such a huge inspiration, thank you for sharing your journey! Keep doing great things! Love you girl! ☺️ 🤗 ❤️
yess new video from Allie!! I love your vids so so so much and thank you for this inspiring content
Thank you for watching!! So excited to share this long run 🤗
Very nice video Allie! Really starting to get excited about seeing you in the trials now. 👍
Thank you for telling your story so candidly. You’re a true inspiration and your content helps me through tough moments, since I’m currently not allowed to run (used to run 70-100k a week…) in early ED recovery. Videos like this one make it easier to grow the healthy side in me stronger❤
LOVED this video. You guys are the dynamic coach/athlete duo!!!
This was the most amazing thing I’ve watched in a while. Please do more of these!!!! So motivational..
thank you so much!
In awe of seeing you chatting away at a 7-8 min/mi pace. Goals. You guys killed it!
Thanks for the shot of Georgie. Maybe you could note his appearances in the timeline.
Excellent and inspiring video as always! And thanks to a patient Spencer who captured all the video! And David is truly a wonderful human and coach! Very lucky to have him, Allie!
One of your best videos. Thanks for continuing to use your experiences to help others. And David is a badass.
Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, David is amazing!
“This is my training. It’s my consistency.” 🔥 Needed to hear this 🙏🏽
So proud of you! You’re looking so strong! 💪 I hope you get in some hurdle training and maybe can even do some steeplechase time trials before the Olympic Trials 😊. Glad you found a great coach for you too!
I absolutely loved this video I am so glad that you have such a wonderful and supportive coach :) What a beautiful view that you guys ran on :) much love
Great video! David Is so cool and knowledgeable as well as being super supportive. He will definitely get you to where you want to go!
I absolutely loved this!! Fabulous coach - great guy who gets it! you guys are going to achieve so much 🥰 actually you already have - ❤
You’re going to be in the Olympics Allie! Great coach and mindset you’re on your way!
What an awesome video! So informative and fun!!
That was such a fun video! Great conversation and cool run to experience vicariously. Wish we all could have David as a coach!! He seems like a phenomenal person. You’re phenomenal too!
What an awesome coach! You guys killed that workout 🔥😍
Thanks for this , Allie!! This was fun to watch. I don’t know you, but I am so happy for your success and who seems like an awesome coach. I would def listen to your podcast :D
alright! Thanks for the feedback....we might just have to commit to it!
Cool video, love the conversation and so informative too!
What a cool guy David is and so positive, I love it, v inspiring
Brilliant vlog! Content and filming and editing! I love this intelligent and inspirational conversation. Thank you all.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How I wish I had an example like you and David when I was younger. I'm sure you are impacting many people Allie, keep it up. 💗
awe, that's exactly my aim! To be the example I needed :)
Well you are hitting that spot on:-) (And I am trying to do the same). Have fun in your journey up to the trials!!!
What a great coach! Thank you Allie for your videos! I am dealing with chronic pain and your videos inspire me and show me we can overcome adversity! I am trying to improve my fitness for my sport (dog agility) so I don't let my end of the team down on the course!
This could be my favorite video yet! You and David are a great Team Allie!
yayyy!
I’ve been following you since Boise St, I’m just so happy that you’ve found a coach/partner who is helping you reach your dreams in a healthy way.
it's so refreshing to have such a positive coach!
Great video. I did a Whole30 a couple years ago. One thing I realized is that in those 30 days I was on it, I was out of gas on my runs after about 1.5 to 2 miles. Underscores the criticality of fueling. Food is fuel. Especially for an athlete, and especially even moreso for an endurance athlete.
I love this video! I live just off Mags and run there several times a week. It's so hard! Great work!
Amazing what your doing. My 13 year old boy, just started his RUclips channel to show his journey trying to become a PRO RUNNER 🏃 (Running For my dream) so proud off him 😊
Comforting, open energy. And wow, I'm simply impressed by the topics discussed on such a long, hilly run! I tend to be on the "all blood rushing to my muscles" boat, loosing the train of thought when running
haha David was great because whenever I was just gasping for air, he would fill in the gaps with his knowledge.
Great run!!!
david sounds like an absolute GEM of a human and even more a coach
This might just be my favorite duo in running
I’m emotional, I have the chills watching this right now, you are
Doing something on a quantum level 🤍 gonna watch this more than once
awe! quantum level...that makes me feel very cool :)
@@allie_ostrander I have let fear keep me from so many things in the past, seeing you be so strong and vulnerable has truly helped me and others so that’s what I mean I guess, it’s like your ripple affect is truly positive
Thanks for that run. Ever since DeCastella in the 80s I’ve wondered what the mythical Magnolia rd was like. And what a good coach you’ve got there. Class
Allie O inspiring runners. More importantly, inspiring humans!
This is such a great video.. 👏
This is amazing 🤩😍
This was so valuable. I would LOVE to see--and hear--more of Allie and David in this kinda format or in a podcast in the future. Just sayin'! :) Thank you!
amazing, thanks for the feedback!
I loved this so much! Ted Lasso of running!!!! Absolutely! You both inspire me as an old lady athlete/ coach of HS runners! ❤🎉
David has so much knowledge in the science and psychology of sport. I learn so much from him!
yes yes yes podcast!!!!! and you could bring on other runners as guests!
Must be nice to have an amazing coach like David! loving your journey!!
it's the best!
I love this set up for you queen, you are thriving and the track world ain’t ready for the slays on the way!
Side note : dave’s “yes” with the jump celebrating your poop on mags was so wholesome
haha we have to celebrate life's bowel movements, big and small ;)
Fantastic video!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Way to Go, Allie!
He's definitely a positive person and I can see how he's changing your mental side of things. Keep on truckin' Allie and reach for the stars 🌟 ❤❤❤
David changes every person's life that he enters :)
That was awesome sauce!
I feel your optimism ❤
Wow, your coach is amazing. It shows that he really cares a lot about you
Fun video, what a nice guy, you are fortunate to have him for a coach, have fun in Boulder, great place to train, I love it there.....best regards
it's such an ideal place for training!
TONS of great insight in this video! Great job Allie (new subscriber here).
🎉🎉❤❤ love it 😍
Seems like you found yourself an Amazing coach. What a dynamic duo you both make. I have a very funny feeling that things are going to click this season. 😁
You’re so awesome. ❤
tbh yall been floatin the podcast for forevvvver and i would listen the heck outta it
coach has so many quotables but my fave is maybe the role of coach is just recognizing whats already there
love the finger guns
I know! We even recorded AND edited it once, but have been afraid to commit to posting!
Oof...fast finish long run on the infamous Magnolia Road...brutal. Nicely done, Allie. BTW, this is one of your most compelling videos. I really enjoyed it. Thank you 😊
so glad you enjoyed it!
@@allie_ostrander always
I wanna hear more from coach! Definitely love the podcast idea wirh you and Spencer, but also with Coach!
David has a podcast! It's called "some work all play" or SWAP for short :)
a great relationship shared. Thank you.
I saw a Mags run in the title and almost didn't watch the video due to Mags PTSD. This is probably my favorite video you've created. The content balanced out my Mags memories. ;)
Oh, and David not even breathing hard killed me!
So glad you enjoyed it! And yeah David was never struggling even for a second haha
Enjoy the process. 100%.
DAVID X ALLIE = 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also we need an Allie, Ari, Spencer podcast!
You ran by my friends house! I don’t even like driving that road. Way to go and you made it look easy.
I love your Videos!
Love to see your journey!
Greetings from a "normal" fun runner from Germany!❤
greetings! thank you for watching :)
Altitude runs, hard work not crazy speed but hard on a system like yours which is efficient unless pounding at high pace. Hope it helps. Lots of good questions and answers there.
David is a legend. I had the pleasure of watching him crush the course record in the Blue Sky Marathon in Fort Collins
David is a great coach, and I can't believe that he is doing this run after the pics from the hospital and flying 100 feet after a car striking his road bike.
Ohhh you cracked me up, when of your workout you had written "challenging=possibility of death", and with respect to running up those hills at altitude "okay = potentially I will survive", along with the universal reply while running of breathing heavily; as acknowledgment of whatever was said while you were sucking in oxygen.
Now appearing live on stage that steeple chasing comedian, Allie O!
You seemed very strong and relaxed on this run, and are doing so very well with what your coach shared, of having a really excellent aerobic buildup, followed by faster track intervals to peak at the Olympic trials. Your last race with everything you went through, your engine was very strong. Just regaining your natural motion for jumps and getting through the water swiftly, and some better positioning, and you will run your very best, and that could mean getting some more US team gear!
I really enjoyed this format, and you and Spencer should do a podcast. You are right there is a greater dynamic with both of you, a synergy, that gives a result that is greater than the individual sums. I always thought that whomever was president should be interviewed while they jog, as that would be cool. Somehow I don't think that is going to happen for awhile!
Just keep doing what you are doing, with great dedication and commitment to your training program, and I know your jumping form will be where you want it to be in the next few weeks, and you will have an amazing race. Have a good rest of your Sunday
He talks about the accident on the run
@@sschwen8050 Thank you...I missed that
it's amazing how quickly David has recovered! The level of training he is already at is incredible!
@@allie_ostrander My gosh, from that hospital photo, and the length of distance David traveled in the air after being struck by a car.... I was surprised to see him running, let alone walking without assistance. So very that David, was able to recover amazingly well! Great video and great running, and I know you will have an awesome race at the trials!
Love that Talk 😍😍
There were a lot of truths in this video. Thank you!
I love being on a long run with you guys and I didn't have to adapt to altitude or run 7 min miles! Thanks!!!
I love you Allie! Under eating isn't good. Paris, Paris, Paris! You'll be there! ❤
Great video Allie!! Also, the trees…💩😂
