Excellent video! Thank you, Zanegler. And thanks for the reminder of all the initial work to lay in utilities underground (water, electric, fiber, etc.) These are so important for plant expansions (to wit, all the power and water modifications going on at Giga-Texas). I'm not sure about any seismological issues, but underground still keeps the entire site looking serene and natural. Where does the water itself come from? Is there a treatment plant in the area? Are there more substations? (Factories surely do require more power than distribution centers.) Those could be destinations for future videos.
RE the stamping pits, those aren't tarps, they're thermal blankets that are required when placing concrete in cold weather. They're designed to help retain heat and slow evaporation of the water in the mixtures. The first days after a pour, the concrete generates a lot of heat due to the chemical reactions of the mix and must be maintained or the whole process fails because the design strength won't be achieved. I know this stuff because I was a heavy concrete form carpenter. The work you're watching is what I did for years. BTW, it's harder than it looks to walk across that rebar even though it's very close together. One wrong step, and down you go! Keep up the good work!
I think the thermal blankets at the stamping pit are being distributed to be installed to help keep frost out of the ground under the rebar. If they were ready to pour, the blankets would not be placed on the rebar until after the pour. Billthecat pointed out they were thermal blankets which have a layer of insulation inside. As an excavation contractor, we used them to help keep frost out of the ground.
Wow you drone work is fantastic! The pace of this factory construction reminds me of WW II stories of the pace of building and later factory production. Thank You! 🇨🇦
9:20. Between the 'free standing wall' and the covered chamber to the right. The black isn't an opening, it's a applied moisture proof membrane. Likely this will be backfilled. The free standing wall is the main building line. The chamber to the right is outside the main building line. A couple of small covered docks are shown in the render. Scrap might be extracted via an elavator, or conveyor through the opening in the chamber roof at 9:23.
Zanegler, I know your subscribed base is low, not likely a full-time job, more of a contribution. But I've been noticing how much attention your videos have been receiving from news media and other "content creators" with very much larger subscriber and viewer bases, around the world, clear to Australia! Your work is making a difference, more and more as time goes by. Actually, the general interest and the industrial/commercial interest in the possibilities for the Tesla Semi (and by extension, of EV vehicles generally for transportation, agriculture, mining, etc.) is huge, IMO. And your videos and narratives demonstrate what it takes (and Tesla's effort in manufacturing) to make those possibilities realities. Thank you.
Tesla Semi is still one of the best kept secrets in the media, no negative reports or comments about Tesla building a factory that will produce more Semi’s. So easy for people to forget that Tesla Semis are on the roads in small numbers , one more Tesla vehicle in the Tesla lineup.
Thank you so much for doing these flights! Once a week seems a great frequency. Sadly most of the change week to week will be inside the building so twice a week won’t add much over once a week from an outside perspective. Thanks again. Go Semi go!
Another great video. I’ve been watching these since the roof panels were being placed on the first section. Amazing progress. Really enjoy your commentary too .. makes it so much more interesting than just background music. Thanks for doing these.
I am enjoying all of your videos, fly as often as you think makes sense. Would it be possible say once a month (or 2 months) that you do a quick flyover legacy giga Nevada. Maybe there are some small changes that might be nice to see.. but again once a month at max unless you see something big happening... and i understand flying restrictions may prevent.. Either way i am enjoying your videos. I defiantly enjoy the commentary as well.. I have found on watching 3 different pilots at the giga Texas and i enjoy Joe's (cant spell last name) videos the most. Also i have seen giga Berlin and there is a lot of changes out there but again not as intresting without the commentary. I also noticed that Joe pulls permits on giga Texas now and then when he sees a new construction or such (like once a quarter or so) I do not know how difficult or how much it costs or anything but that might be intresting as well as give you more ideas on what areas are more important
What a great video’s you make everytime! Thank you so much!!! I follow your work from the very first beginning. From that time so many other building have been build. Can you please figure out from what compagnies these buildings are and if and/or in what way they are related to the Tesla factory? Would be very much appreciated!!!
I imagine that once they start connecting the stamping pits to the main structure you will up your flights again for a bit. Until then although I want one every day, once a week should cover it.
Thank you very much for another great video and commentary! A couple weeks ago you mentioned about the possibility of seeing some Redwood construction content, is this still on the cards? Thanks again
The new pace is a good plan, we have watched a lot of Tesla factories shoot up. They do get better at it every time. Production lines capable of building more than one product should be expected here as it is happening at other Tesla facilities. Very progressive.
hate double commenting but different topic... maybe something like a 1-2 Person Pop-Up Pod - like WeatherPod or something like that might give you a more comfortable drone center.
The long shadows make it hard to see. I know this may not work with your schedule - but if possible could film around high noon? No shadows at all. Also to answer your question I think once a week is good.
Comparing the drainage infrastructure to giga Texas is astronomical. Texas has been having drainage issues since the beginning and is currently experiencing issue after issue, probably to the tune of 10s of millions of dollars and Nevada was a simple one time system.
Smoke the tires, sure. BUT, can the simi drift? The guys on Top Gear drifted a diesel simi some years ago. Yes, they cover concrete to slow the drying. In the hot summer the blistering hot sun can cause the concrete to crack as it drys too fast. I wouldnt think they would have any of these concerns this time of year, but, what do I know? Im just a simple caveman. !
Yes, now that there isn't so much visible change, once a week is just fine. Keep up the good work!

Very good points. I felt sure too that walking on that rebar with a heavy bulky load was not something to take lightly!

Keeping frost out of the ground. That must get complicated. Never had to deal with frost. I have a new research project!
Makes sense. Last week morning temps have been 18-degrees F.

Appreciate your comments. I’m fighting the good fight.

Oh thank god he found his voice again 😂
I went to the lost and found and they had it!
Sounds like some good fingerless gloves are in order. Clear skies and fair winds 🙋🏼♂️

Cheers Zanegler, as always much appreciated mate!
Unfortunately, it looks like you'll need an x-ray drone to show us the factory fit out.

Appreciate your positive feedback! A lot.
Thanks!
Thank you! Very much appreciated. Made my day.
🤗 THANKS FOR THE UPDATES AND THE 360 DRONE VIEWS 🥶 STAY WARM 🔥⚡️⚡️⚡️
You’re welcome!
Weekly is fine. After the pit is done most of the following work will be interior which we won't be able to see. Thanks for keeping us all up to date.
When they start putting tools inside this facility, we are tired of waiting!
Yes please fly once a week and hopefully you can continue to get an update from employees.
The tarps are probably meant to the minimum temperature needed to cure the concrete

I am still working on this. Stay tuned.
@ Thank you
but not yet roofed all the way across - still that last section.
Tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, then tell them what you have told them…
The oldest sales patter is the 3 times repeat.
It was drummed into me at P&G in the 70's

Thanks for the input. I’ll keep that in mind
6-8 months away from stamping there...

This guy reports some Tesla simis have begun service in SoCal.
Can this be verified?

Looks legit. I think Tesla is distributing a couple semi’s each to multiple companies vs a bunch to one company.
