I'm someone who likes playing the game Mario Maker and that game has a tag system where when you upload a level, you can give it a tag. So I had the idea of having GD do the same thing. (I wouldn't call this an original idea from me other people have talked about it before) You can give a level a tag for people who want to search a specific type of level. The tags can be listed as Music, Art, Puzzle, Adventure, etc. And when you play a lot of levels with a specific tag like Art, then there can be an Algorithm system where the game can give you more Art levels or whatever tagged levels you play the most. This can even apply for difficulty like you'll get more insane's if you beat a lot of insane levels. It can be a button in the game that says Algorithm and it can show you some recommended levels.
i think the achievements for practice mode are fine. i've seen too many players who are too stubborn to use practice mode and end up stop playing the game because it gets frustrating for them. also, even if you do beat it in 1 attempt, like in the example you gave, rebeating it in practice mode to get a color adds a sense of progress that is literally free and costs you about 2 minutes of your time, when you have nothing else to do and just want a cool color
My major addition ideas: -Better comments(replies/@s) -better voting (likes and dislikes showing) -more LORE!!! -ability for unrated levels to be community voted to Auto/demon(new NA/unrated demon difficulty) -ability to add a built-in epilepsy warning to levels -show if the level has ldm or not like in 2.11 because it got changed in 2.2 i think -new XXL length -customizable notifications(new rated/new followed creator level) -ability to add creators collab credits in built-in description/giving ALL creators cp There is alot more but those are my most important ones :]
I'm on both sides. I do agree with your idea in that robtop should rate more but the levels you mention that deserve a rate are only really difficult demons and demons are rated differently compared to other levels. Also the standards to get a demon rate are significantly harder than non-demons. I hope that answers your question You also talk about how top 1 players have no more levels to play after beating the hardest levels and that point to me makes no sense. They are very few players actually beating these levels, probably only like 3 or 4. So what, you only care about this small group? Whereas the majority of players still playing non-demons every day. There are always way less victors on a demon level. So what's the point in rating demons if nobody gonna beat them? So I do agree that rubrub should rate more but only more non-demons since the majority of people play those and we are already oversupplied with demon levels
I desperately want a save system for platformers because I have accidentally quit out of long levels, especially because the esc button pauses the game, but instead of unpausing, quits out of the level… you know like every other game. In How To Platformer on stage 1996, my fried brain forgot this and quit out of the level, causing me to waste several hours of my life and making me start over all the way from the very beginning.
A stats tab (that opens when the creator point logo is clicked) for creators showing how many starrated, featured and epic levels they have (and how many of each difficulty) would be nice, especially for top creators. This might also allow a creator score system to be added, which is the number of creator points divided by the creator's number of rated levels, giving a score between 1 and 5. This kind of leaderboard would be better for judging how skilled creators are, even with a flawed rating system
Bro a couple days ago I was playing Zip Lash, A hard demon platformer, and I had to go to bed while I was on the last level. My computer restarted overnight. I still haven't beat it.

About the “replay from last checkpoint” I think the best way to do it will be to make a toggle in the checkpoint’s settings for “saving after leaving the level” that will also add some indication to the checkpoint (maybe slightly different texture), and set it to off by default. That way all the old levels will remain the same, levels like How To Platformer won’t break and will retain their difficulty that comes basically only from its length, but levels like that one FNAF remake will become more enjoyable (as FNAF definitely wasn’t made with an intention of being beaten in one go)
Yeah that’s exactly what I think should happen and hitting one of those would feel SO RELIEVING I think only permanent checkpoints well would definitely make some demons less of a demon in a sense I think a toggle for making certain checkpoints permanent would definitely give us the best of both worlds.
The only one i disagree with is having more hard demons in gauntlets. my current hardest is nine circles and my only other hard demon completed is death step by funnygame. i wouldnt exactly be thrilled to try and beat more hard demons, at least not now as im trying to beat jawbreaker
