Let’s not forget the PP 5024J the predecessor to the 5124G which is the definitive shape that launched the G. It is also stylistically more in keeping with an Art Deco shape, whereas the 5120G has had the sharpness pared away with curved sides. As nice as this modern watch is it doesn’t equate to the dramatic and gorgeous Arabic numerals of the original. In terms of cost it is a base product overtaken by round complication ,many of. which are in a totally different pricing league . Following some of the international watch platform’s ads the take up on the 5024 is constant. America demands status bling , showy statements of wealth for all to see . Perhaps in Europe and elsewhere watch purchase is more subtle and buying is more a personal choice irrespective of what others think. However I love the colour of the G’s dial which the Golden Ellipse has been using for years . Thanks for the update.
