I got a welder for my 15th birthday last year and am loving it so decided that I'd like to make the madolorian helmet and found your channel during my research. I absolutely love the content and I payed for the paetron to get the templates. Now I'm just waiting for the printers to open back up so I can start working on it

May I recommend using a small blob of dark brown mixed with the black when weathering. It breaks that all black shadings.

Back when she first appeared on clone wars I did some sketches of her because I thought she had a cool design. I never thought she would grow beyond being just a henchgirl but here we are. She is now in 3 different shows and has been played by Katie Stackoff every time.
A little late to the party, with the exception of grinding downto metal, i am going to be following your flow to paint the PLA one i am printing now.
i'd love to see a "test" video sort of thing with these to see how much damage they can withstand

The new Boba armor would be really interesting to see. A lot less weathering, flat colors, DEEP gouges in the chest plate and pauldron (I'd like to see how you'd do the depth those suggest), but the biggest thing would be the new flight suit and flack vest. Those look so different than any other Mandalorian build we've seen thus far. It would be a real challenge.

do you give it a clear coat to protect the paint or is the paint and weathering tough enough to not need a clear coat ? i would love to see you make jango's blasters from attack of the clones. i really enjoy your videos, i wish i was as good with my hands at making stuff as you.
Unless you want to protect it , like if you have it looking perfecting weather like a boba fett helmet. Without it this will now naturally weather over time exposing the layers of paint and bare metal and have it look more real/believable than it already is.

where did you get the file for the helmet, make it your self or something. i really want to make one but havent found a suitable file yet and i am not good enough at moddeling to make my own
@@ninus17 i bought it from etsy (Sean fields) Project842. Super file and you get 3 versions of the helmet (eg CW, Mando, etc)

i laughed when you first mentioned using toothpaste as masking fluid, but wow, that's a great result for such a low-budget material!
