I had the Ontario Rat 1 and Rat 2 for year's but somehow I lost them during a move. I repurchased the Rat 1 a couple weeks ago on Amazon. Right now I'm going to Amazon and buying the Rat 2 again. Today is Monday September 11th 2023 so I will never forget when I purchased this knife again. Thanks for your excellent video here showing the two together.

I’m the same way. When I first got into knives I saw their design and hated it. But Jared from Neeves Knives did a little overview of one and I appreciated the build quality. I have a Rat 2 and I’m wanting to buy either another rat 2 or a rat 1

I’ve owned several rats over the years, and it’s still my go to edc knife years later. For the price it’s still such a great quality knife, and if I lose it or break it I don’t care I just order another haha.

I thought the same thing about the Rat’s. The name is what put me off.
I bit the bullet and bought the Red S35VN version. It’s a good knife. I’m contemplating buying another Aus8 or D2 Rat as a beater.

I have the RAT 2 because my wife ordered the wrong one, but it’s in D2 not AUS 8 so it wasn’t all bad

Both come in D2 as well. Its like $44 for the Rat 1 in d2 and $40 for the Rat 2 d2

@@deadvikingtrolls Yeah true, its better but still nothing great. If you dont mind me asking, what do you think is better if you had a pick between the Kizer Original(XL) and the CIVIVI Vision FG?

@@Inbal_Feuchtwanger Were I to pick one or the other in the $80 range, kind of tough. Vision fg has the compelling sharklock but nitro-v is kind of mediocre steel imo. I'd probably go kizer original xl for the cpm-154 blade and the button lock is still nice enough. (Still like crossbar locks more but they're rare outside of benchmade.)
