    You make amazing videos.
    You changing the flex hose was a great idea.
    I bought my first Barbados Yellow 88 Si when I was 16. Ended up wrecking it when a flex hose blew during an emergency stop on the highway. (Could have been an old line, could have been the y-49 curse)
    Fast forward 18 years later I just bought a 91 special edition.
    I will feature it on my channel

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  4 года назад +1

      Definitely needed to change those hoses. Even if they look fine you never really know their condition and it can lead to problems just as you experienced. I appreciate the comment 👍

    Hey Jon, would be great if you would add to your films where you buy the parts you put on these

  • @oldhondas6430
    @oldhondas6430 5 лет назад +1

    Please don't get me wrong - I love your attention to detail and you do great restorations. But at 6:05 you were pressing that bushing in from the wrong side. The holes in those toe arms are coned to allow for a tight fit when pressed in against the smaller side. Thus you have to press in from the larger side. So you stretched it out and that's why it's loose. Those bushings would have fit perfectly if you went in from the other side. Maybe you can put the bushings in there and somehow squeeze the 'sleeve' to make it clamp down on it but I'd just get a new arm

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 лет назад +1

      I figured that might have been the issue. I tried pressing from the other side but my socket wasnt sitting right so i flipped it over. I think im going to go with adjustable toe links. So ill be ditching these anyway👍

  • @ricardocasalkam
    @ricardocasalkam 5 лет назад +1

    dont know if you mention it, but here's it to help:
    when you swap to rear brake discs, you pedal will feel like spongy or getting low, because you need to get the OEM brake master that comes in the SI models ( drum brakes uses 13/16 Master Cyl--- Si's/ brake discs uses 15/16" MC) also it will help a LOT your braking feel, the 40/40 brake proportioning valve (you needed also when switching to disc's) instead of the drum brakes proportioning valve.
    cheers!

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 лет назад

      Ive been keeping my eyes on ebay looking for the 40/40 . no luck yet

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 лет назад

      From what i see online the hf came with 13/16 the crx SI came with a 7/8 . the 15/16 came in civic,prelude,integra. With the 15/16 bolt up to the stock booster?

    • @ricardocasalkam
      @ricardocasalkam 5 лет назад

      @@themechanic6117 yes! i have it on my EF Si, the only thing you have to make sure its that you have the right booster:
      integra's and +92 civic's EX have the bolts for the Master Cyl horizontally
      the crx and crx SI i think have them diagonally.
      for example, the 1" MC from the integra, can only be used with the integra booster,
      the 15/16 MC of the newer civics (+92 until 00) can only be used with their EX booster(because of the mounting bolts)
      and the 7/8 from the CRX/EF SI, will bolt on directly to your booster. (mounting holes should be diagonally)

    Brake lines aren't hard but they are a pain in the ass especially when you put the fitting on backwards or forget to put to it on before flaring the line. I've re-done several brake lines and more than anything it is just time consuming. 88hf 91si
