I like them, I love large images like the last one, I guess not every type of website could use this type of creative design, depending on the industry they’re in..

I agree with you in terms of boring hero sections, however, in order to achieve some of those layouts, can be quite tricky.
Oh, yes, I'm so tired of boring layouts above the fold. Great stuff!
