Thank you Kirby for making Ariel such a babe and fierce but not an annoying feminasty, just a strong woman, smart companion, who could hold her own. Thundarr for the win
This show really deserves a second chance, either as a continuation like the Netflix He Man sequel or a full on remake. Same goes for Dungeons And Dragons- both were way better than they needed to be for Saturday morning cartoons
There’s a documentary as to why this series was discontinued . It was incredibly popular , great ratings , and such a game changer for a more mature cartoon . What happen was they had to make room for a new cartoon I cannot remember what show but couldn’t come to agreement what time to move the show so it was cancelled . Of course the tv company regretted it since the new cartoon was a flop. I mean the concept , characters chemistry , the post apocalyptic stories , the magic and the great music complication was incredible . Now these kids have sponge bob . We truly gone backwards as a society .

Not complaining. My first animated crush at 11 years old. I will never know how her appearance made it past the 80s TV watchdogs but so thankful that it did.
A live action movie would be incredible, as long as they stayed true (or at least close) to the source material. I hate it when they take something iconic and screw it up.
When they're running through the acid rain at 3:55 Ariel's the same height as Thundarr, but when they stop 15 seconds later he's a head taller than her. LOL
I hope the cartoon show series of (THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN) gets rebooted someday. But I wonder who might be the voice of (Princess Ariel) in the rebooted version of the series?
Do you think an airplane would still be flightworthy 2000 years after the fall of civilization? I guess the rogue planet ripped off the atmosphere so maybe that would make it rust less...
@@cernstormrunner7263 Mindok's backstory is one of the most interesting. He was alive BEFORE the cataclysm! The cataclysm changed him in ways he didn't understand. But, at the same time, he got terrifying powers.
@@cernstormrunner7263 Well, one of the few things we got about her back story is that she grew up with a library to read. A lot of what she talks about... she read in a book. Oh yeah, apparently, she's a wizard's daughter.
Princess Ariel :
"Maybe I should drive."
Thundarr:
"No."
🤣🤣🤣

Thundarr for the win
The princess was always my favorite that was one of the reasons why I watched this show she was better than the sorceress on Black Star
OMG YES! Mora I think was her name
Ruby-Spears vs. Filmation (Scheimer-Prescott)
this was the greatest thing back then
I really miss Saturday Mornings

They just did Dungeons and Daragons...It was good. But I don't know if they can do Thundar
Leave like that otherwise Netflix will destroy it like they did it with He-Man.

The effects for her magic are just the MOST!!! Especially the sound!

Live action Thundarr, would be a great movie /series
I♡Princess Ariel.
Am I the only one who's noticed how anatomically correct Jack Kirby drew her?
wasn't it Alex Toth?

This was my favorite on Saturday mornings. I wanted a sun sword and a watchman.
I wanted a sunsword, a horse like Ookla rode, Ariel's skills & power, and a girlfriend like Ariel.
I do wish they should make a episodes of princess Ariel turn into a giant

Ookla grabs her already, just ready to go 😈😈😈😈
This is way better than I remember. ✨🍿✨
I remember a witch stole her body.

I really did like this show and any sword 🗡️ and sorcery show these were the best they should've lasted longer

Nancy McKeon
Hopefully not Netflix. They'll ruin it!
@@e-cuauhtemoc Than I suggest that either, the HULU network reboots it, or the AMAZON PRIME network reboots it.
They will have to find another voice actor for Thundarr. Robert Ridgely passed away in 1997.
with ALL the Reeboot/Remake crap. there should be a LIVE Action movie. They just released a Dungeons n Dragons. n it looks good.
I remember watching Bugs
5:47 She jumps… 5:49 …and she somersaults.
Not now? Later then I guess
4:56 Ariel did the gymnastics accent.

The series implies that eldritch stuff happened when that rogue Planet flew past.... but never goes into any detail.
